- Rating: 8/10. Mixed attacker/supporter to pair with an identical Florges in duos. Build details in description.
Florges @ Metronome
Ability: Flower Veil
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Bold Nature
Giga Drain
Chilling Water
Calm Mind
Tearful Look
Vitamins: 25 HP Up (or Health Mochi), 25 Iron (or Resist Mochi)
Feathers: 2 Health Feathers, 2 Resist Feathers
Stats at lvl 100 w/ perfect IVs:
HP : 360
Defense : 258
Sp.Atk.: 260
Sp.Def.: 344
Speed : 186
Support Responsibilities: each Florges will be doing one tearful look at the start and one chilling water after the 2nd shell smash. together, they will bring torterra's buffs down from +2 atk/spatk at the start and +4 atk/spatk after the 2nd shell smash to +0 atk/spatk at the start at +0 atk +2 spatk after the 2nd shell smash. Additionally, each Florges's Flower Veil ability protects the other Florges from special defense debuffs from earth power when terastalized.
Strategy: tearful look. if you went first, wait for ally to heal cheer. if you went second, heal cheer. 3x giga drain. wait for your stats to reset. terastalize into calm mind, giga drain. wait for torterra to shell smash a 2nd time. chilling water. giga drain when you need HP. 3x calm mind. giga drain to victory.
Notes: intimidators make this way easier, but I ran the same strategy without intimidators and it was doable. with no intimidators the player who goes first has a 1 in 6 chance of being 1HKO'd. if it happens you can just press on. if you're worried about it you can hold a focus sash.
Pros: supereffective tera type, great HP, defense, and special attack stats, excellent special defense stat.. resists earthquake, earth power, and wood hammer after terastalizing. tearful look debuffs 1 attack stage and 1 special attack stage when shield is down. chilling water debuffs 1 attack stage through shield. calm mind buffs 1 special attack stage and 1 special defense stage. giga drain has 7 base power, 100 accuracy and deals supereffective (STAB when terastalized) damage. it heals an amount equal to 50% of damage dealt. metronome boosts damage by a factor that increases with consecutive atacks (1x,1.2x,1.4x,...). flower veil protects grass type allies from special defense debuffs.
Cons: tera type mismatches base type. outsped by torterra. takes great damage from earthquake before debuffing or terastalizing.
