@@Orionslive BJP gives top leadership (not necessarily PM position) to two types of people.
1) Those who already have governing experience, such as chief ministers like Yogi (CM of UP) and Hemant Sharma (CM of Assam). Even Modi was 3 times CM of Gujarat before being selected as the PM candidate.
2) Those who have done a lot of work at ground level, such as LK Advani, Atal Bihari Vajpaaye, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, etc.
Annamalai is young and has only recently entered politics. He is doing a lot of work at ground level but it will take him time to as much ground level work done by Amit Shah, LK Advani, Vajpayee, JP Nadda, etc. did. Further, It would be very difficult for him to become CM of some southern state, though there is a chance BJP could make a comeback in Karnataka in the next state elections, and Annamalai has been an IPS officer posted in Bengaluru, even handled protests there and knows Kannada very well and is very famous among Kannadigas. But still I doubt he would be chosen as CM candidate because he is young and there are many who have been in the party for years and are qualified enough to be selected as CM candidate.
Annamalai is gradually becoming famous among northies, you can see many northies like me respect him a lot and have better hopes for him, I am sure that if he ever becomes PM candidate (would be old enough by then, probabaly 55+), northies would definitely vote for him. By that time, to attract the northies en masse, he would be proficient enough in Hindi.
