I don't think they established that. There were over 700 hogmedods at the party. All Brennan said was that it wasn't serving drinks before it collapsed and soaked up the liquid.

To get overly analytical but this scene here is the difference between Matt Mercer and Brennan lee Mulligan. (If you came here looking for hate for one gtfo)
Matt would have taken that "i think her name was bolo" comment and flipped it on Sam, giving her a similar name and reinforcing that Loquacious is a sleaze. Or like Marisha says "maybe it means hello. This preserves world integrity and keeps tone consistent and still sets up a funny moment, but the humor more comes from just how shitty loquacious is.
Brennan on the other hand will let a player dig their oen grave. "Hello, my name Bolo." No switchup, no curveball, no change up just straight faced. Its big "is that 22 Hilda Boulevard or Street, when someone named Hilda Hilda just said their street name IS hilda. The humor NOW is bathos, we expect the world stay consistent. It almost shockingly funny, look at travis, this was way out of left field.for the CR team.
Its the same way when Matt when on d20 and everyone wasile "AHHH NAT20 I SUCCEED" and he was like "mmmm, actually no." And then everyone was like "👀👀👀 oh you mean there isnt a 5% chance that whatever i want to happens happens? Let me aporaoch this carefully." And the tone is a bit more serious in his hands. In D20 its almost predictable atp, everyone is always so excited for 20'z but really, now that everyone just gets crazy successes it creates a more adventurous tone but it isnt grounded or serious because of how zany they let the 20's be.
All of this to say both are masters of their craft and i love them both for their differences please everyone stop comparing them.

I love how the moment Sam starts constructing this idea that Loquatius brought a +1, you can see Brennan start to think, "Alright, how am I gonna subvert this?" to himself. Then, the moment Sam says, "I think her name is Bolo?" he's locked in and goes for the kill with the accent.
I think one of my favorite things about Brennan as a DM is no matter what he is ready to go with the insanity of his players and comically silly side tracking. For everything Sam threw at him Brennan was able to come up with a character or line to go along with the bit despite how terrifying and depressing this mini-series was, and I loved it so much

@@tomaszskowronski1406 That was the most aggressive response to RP shenanigans I've ever seen Brennan have; he was doing this live and had to deal with a whole episode of Emily's Fig plays, so he was just done with it lmao. And because of that he created an entire character that only pops up when Fig uses Disguise Self in Junior Year.

@@rosiecooper8030 Hilda Hilda had a whole build up to it as well as a continuation because Brennan's tongue-in-cheek means of punishing Emily's distracting RP shenanigans, so naturally it got way more recognition to it.
Bolo was just a thing during a serious campaign where Brennan couldn't help but go with Sam's bit and make the best of it.
Funny fact: Bolo in Portuguese means cake. And fits like a glove because Bolo sure has many layers.
