The music isn't getting softer they have just grown things would get stale if they stayed the same
It sucks when people say Matty is losing he's voice or his vocals are lacking well no shit. We forget that he's still a human and his vocal cords are probably shot out cause of all the screaming and singing he's done for years and years with barley any breaks. Its just sad all these fake fans can't realize that .
Are you saying it's wrong for them to notice, and their not fans for not excusing a bad performance? Lol shut the fuck up with that. They are plenty of vocalists who do way more extreme and grading styles of singing than Matty. Just look at a number of bands on this tour. It's called being a professional. Learn proper technique or don't commit to a tour that is extremely demanding like Warped. Take a break, Matty. Do what you gotta do.

It's really good but the guitars are a bit quiet
Yeah, not sure if it was a mistake on the stage sound guy's part or the band's sound guy's part, but a stereo signal was supposed to be sent to our audio recorder, but for this particular set a mono signal was sent. And since the guitars are typically panned hard left and hard right in a stereo mix, when they're combined into the same space (like in a mono track), something called phase cancellation happens and it cancels out some (and sometimes ALL) of the sound, which is what happened here with the guitars.
Or sound guy didnt have guitars up much in the first place if stage sound was enough for the crowd. That's why house mixes suck for videos. Always nicer when multi-tracking is available for mixing afterwards.

Memphis May fire was my favourite band ! The best ever ! With songs like The sinner, legacy, the abandonned, deuces las creuses, vaulted ceilings and now it's a shitty band ! Please MMF, change and be the same again

listeningloser 4980 I dont think that's true. Bands shouldn't be rewarded for regressing. Bands should change because they're discovering their own unique sound, not to become more generic. That's just how I feel about it.

not their fault, it's Rise Records. Look at the difference for the bands that left Rise and the ones who stayed. CTE is soft af and so is MMF. Miss May I was but they left and went back to themselves

heath dobrich Well that's part of it but at the end of the day, metalcore, post hardcore, and metal in general is the most disliked/underrated genre and if you want to attract more people or grow your fan base leaning towards a softer or rock sound is the way to do it.

Fabio Zundel it's probably partially that. Rise Records tends to want to appeal to pretty much everyone so they go for the softer sound when it comes to the sound. The lyrics I'm sure are all matty and the rest of MMF

Sgt SkySyndrome This is just a guess, but I believe this was a track that was supposed to be on the new Spoken record that Kellen helped write. It sounds much more like Spoken. I wouldn't expect MMF to continue in this direction.
Not even close to the truth bud, but not a bad guess I suppose. We are sliding more towards the rock spectrum in general. You would too if you had been in this genre for 10 years and seen/heard some of the things "fans" say
Kellen McGregor Woah, thanks for the reply!!! I'm so glad to hear something official about the direction MMF is going. I love and support MMF whatever direction they go. I personally think Virus is a killer song, and I may have played it more than any other MMF song (I play it on repeat often). I love how y'all handle the haters, like when you taped off those "non-southern" frets in that one video. Can't wait to hear the new Spoken record, especially since it has your influence.
this song is too generic sounding, especially lyric wise. theyre becoming soft. maybe CTE and MMF and other bands on rise should go to Sharptone, or Hopeless. miss may i went to sharp tone, shadows inside sounds great but not as good as Apologies are for.the weak. i mean look at sleeping with sirens. really poppy and soft. i get bands change and experiment with sound and doing what they feel they wanna do but this is crappy.
