This Eric is also using Fedora on a Framework, in this case with a Ryzen 7840U. It has had an odd bug at times where the whole system slows to a crawl and I've had to go get kernel 6.12 RC versions just to mostly stave it off. I also wonder if it runs as cool and efficiently as it could (I have never run Windows on it).

Fedora 39 and 40 were great experiences (with Hyprland as primary DE and Gnome as a secondary DE). I upgraded to Fedora 41 and went through the keyring amusement park. I know Eric expressed how he did not have the time to mess with tiling window managers and their configs. However, I did not have the time or inclination to play with Gnome 47 keyring circus on Fedora. Using Arch based CachyOS on all PCs now (with Hyprland and Gnome 47) with great success. I am hopeful this Gnome/Fedora thing will be solved. I really do. Fedora is a fine distro.

Hey... I would love to learn about your views on current state of design (ui/ux) on apps for Linux independently of DE used. It seems that enforcing strict visual rules is a pain for many developers, but UI freedom creates awfull-to-look-at applications... what is your view on this? (I think this is why every geek still use the command line, simplest UI that exists :) ).
I started to play with ubuntu, but converted to fedora now for 3 years at least... never had an issue with version upgrades...specifically since silverblue came into my computers... but rocking a small fedora server homelab... sincerely... not sure why any1 would want to be a linux sysadmin. I can't get anything to work without doing Voodoo.

Apple has introduced some annoyances in the Mac OS interface that I need to tweak or disable. So annoying. I actually really like Gnome's interface and find it less annoying out of the box than the Mac interface at this point. I do tweak that one as well, of course, but not as much. Main thing for me is having minimize and maximize buttons available on the windows. I am annoyed that those are disabled by default and I'm expected to tile everything like a Zoomer.
