I also tested it with my Xbox 360 because i wanted to feel how is playing Tekken 6 on a leverless and it worked perfectly. My future plans with it include put custom art and put some Qanba Gravity KS buttons
i've had the F500 stick version since DBFZ came out and it's still in great condition, its a very affordable and durable brand, plus also very easy to change pieces
The Mayflash MagicBoots PS4 V1.1 is a super popular choice for a lot of PS4/PS5 players as the USB dongle/authenticator is significantly shorter than the Magic-S Ultimate and Wingman FGC. People choose the USB passthrough port over traditional converter on their Mayflash or Haute42/GP2040-CE powered PCB because there's less input lag as converters have to convert whatever input's going through while the USB passthrough port doesn't...then again, Endingwalker just proved that the Wingman FGC doesn't have noticeable input lag as he uses a Xbox pad + Wignman FGC and finished in Top 6 of SF6 from EVO 2024. (monitor input lag is more noticeable than controller input lag).
Thanks for bringing this up. I use a Haute 42 leverless with a Magic-S Ultimate via USB-Passthrough with PS4. I would like to try out a Mayflash Arcade Stick but can't find any useful info if the Magic-S Ultimate provides authentication for those too when connected to a PS4. Mayflash only refers to the PS5 for that option. Do you have any experience here?
@@marcelhindrichs6528 The idea behind stuff like the Magic-S Ultimate, Wingman FGC and ect is that they just make your peripheral recognized as a licensed PS4 arcade stick for PS5 fighting game legacy support. This is pretty much what NihongoGamer mentioned about these sticks including the F700, they're not true PS5 native but work on PS5 fighting games with Legacy Support feature. DBFZ PS5 Rollback Netcode patch, The Rumble Fish 2 and Breakers The Collection do not have legacy support. So pretty much your Haute42 with the Magic-S Ultimate is recognized as a licensed PS4 arcade stick as PS5 games aren't compatible with the DualShock 4 or any licensed aftermarket PS4 pads...interestingly enough, my F500 Flat with a PS4 Hori FPS+ controller plugged in is recognized as legacy support for PS5 fighting games but the controller itself doesn't work when plugged into the PS5 lol
Mine just shipped. Thanks young lad. I'm just getting into fight games and with my old arthritic wrists, this seems like money well spent, pretty much a no brainer IMO.
I watched this review when it came out but decided to order the Haute42 R16 instead. Then my friend got an F500 flat and was gushing about it. I got my R16 in and while I like it, I dont love it since I already have a T16. Anyways my friend gushing about it made me say "screw it I guess I am buying a third leverless this month" and I ordered it. It was delivered overnight from amazon. I have to say this stick for $90 is incredible. If you are debating between the T16, R16, and F500 flat go with the F500. If you dont want the thickness go with the T16 but the thickness is oddly a benefit as it makes room for cable storage and while playing with it in your lap the extra height makes it more comfortable. The T16 is great for desk play though. The R16 is also really nice and you can't go wrong with any of these. Whats weird is part of the reason I dont love the R16 is the smaller buttons. But the F500 has the same size of buttons but for some reason they feel better. I am gonna gush about the F500 flat for a second. This leverless is made for modding but you really dont need to. Inside the body there is a diagram showing what color wires go where, this is such a nice touch, but the most incredible touch is the fact the cable has a ferrite toroid choke on it. This is not needed at all but is such a nice small detail especially at $90. The reason for this ferrite choke is to cut down on EMF interference which probably would happen either way but its nice to have extra security. The things I would change: The biggest one is I actually wish the cable was removeable. I know I just gushed about this ferrite bead but that is the main reason this cable was not made removeable, I think. I am probably going to mod mine though with a USB-C passthrough but this is a very minor thing. I would also change the buttons to be screw in/on instead of clip in buttons but thats a minor thing and is easily fixed. The last thing I would change is add more rubber/foam on the bottom for better lap grip but this can easily be done yourself. Actually all 3 of these are easily done and thats why I say it was made for modding. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
I reviewed this controller recently on my channel as well and found the audio passthrough if you use an adapter a really nice feature also For Xbox and PS5 and the only leverless I've seen so far that can do that Pretty cool Great review
If anyone likes the F500 Flat but want more buttons up to 16, a Noir button layout and PS5 integrated support without a USB passthrought, Mayflash is going to release a F700 Flat around October-November of this year I assume it will cost more than the F500 Flat tho
I'm trying so hard to wait for that to drop but I really want to start learning leverless, torn between the haute m16 plus and f700 flat, I think I'd prefer the thicker bodied f700, but that metal body is also very nice imo
@@eliteprofashion Sad news, hope you said this to support team, Im pretty sure they find fix for this in future products. I have t16 with swaped to crystal switches and it works fine for like half a year
The F500 Flat is for the people that wants a chunky leverless without expending on a Victrix, would be interesting if Haute42 designs a thick leverless
I wanted to like Haute 42/Sehawei controllers, they even have the most buttons among all the controllers I've seen, but the one I bought broke in 2 weeks. The USB-C socket is extremely fragile and will be unreliable if you unplug frequently and take it around.
Man I loved my mayflash f300 arcade stick. I only recently got a Sahwei leverless controller. If I had known Mayflash was going to make their own, I would have totally waited for it. Darn.
Ended up getting one as a replacement for my Haute when its usb port started failing. So far, I like the buttons more than I thought I would, though I still plan on customizing it anyway. I love where the L3 and R3 buttons are, and it feels sturdy. I like my controllers with some weight to them, which this has.
I bought the original F500 when T8 first came out. Wanted to get an affordable stick or even a leverless, and opted for Mayflash after some digging on whats good. Fast forward to just recently I see videos that they made this, I immediately nabbed one. This feels so good to play with, esp for SF6 👌
A magnetic face place is a great idea for changing art out without worrying about dealing with screws and screwing the faceplate too tight and cracking the plexi. I wish it would be a option all companies would give us.
You can also plug in a Mayflash Magicboots PS4 adapter or a Brook Wingman FGC and it will work on PS4 and PS5. I don't know if the COSMOX Booter 5 is gonna work but it probably would. These USB authenticators basically just prevent the 8 minute timeouts on by spoofing a Dualshock controller so there's virtually no input lag.
Don't know the COSMOX Booter, but I have two Xbox dongles from Magicboots for my Mayflash sticks and they work perfectly fine. And you only need one for both Xbox One and Series consoles.
I’m so happy to hear your Sanwa take; I’ve been hating on Sanwa buttons for 15 years. They’re not good! They were never good! And keyboard switches blow them out of the water!
Have been really interested in the haute42 lineup of leverless would be awesome if you reciewed a couple of their board im personally looking to get the r16 👍
My first Arcade controller was a Venom, which is basically a Mayflash clone. I could get used to the weight and dimensions no problem if I want a cheap upgrade.
After getting the Hori Fighting Stick Alpha SF6 Edition, I kinda gave up on my Wingman FGC, but the F500 FLAT might save me a lot of time trying to rebuild an old Madcatz Fightstick TE to a leverless 😮😮😮😮
You can use the MayFlash MagicBoots adapter instead of an official controller and it will work on PS4 and PS5. Also, would you consider reviewing the new Haute42 R16? It looks very good and the price is cheap.
I wanna see the Haute42/CosmoX R16 compared to the Mayflash F500 Flat as well. Id love to get a Thumb Up (what I call these hitbox style layout compared to the wasd) that is comfortable on the lap. I have a small SGF Bridget, and it's just not comfy on lap.
I have a Razer Kitsune and I can't go back to 24mm buttons anymore. I reckon for a 16 button maybe the extra 4 can be smaller but the main 12 for me need to be 30mm, it just feels more natural.
Came to say this - I have a Victrix Pro FS-12 (their leverless option) and it was my first controller with 24mm buttons. I have big hands, and my previous controller was the Mayflash f500 Elite, which used 30mm buttons and had a lever. The difference that smaller buttons has on your hands and finger posture is pretty noticeable to me. I personally would not purchase another controller with 24mm buttons as a large handed, broad shouldered person. Mayflash does make quality and affordable controllers, that I can testify. I feel like a lot of these leverless controllers have their buttons so clustered together and it doesn’t feel good.
I’ve been working on getting time allocated to streaming and making videos! Once I’ve got through some of my video queue I’ll be trying my best to be more regular.
Vibration is an interesting idea. I've never played SF on a controller so I have no idea but I wonder if some moves engage the rumble motor? Wonder if using vibrations to help react is possible. Or maybe just a weird feature that has no use
I don't understand why all these controllers don't have better spacing for adapters. I'm not playing with a usb stick hanging like that because it very easily get damaged. It can't be that hard to provide a usb port inside the controller with all this space so I can put my adapter in there
If I were to stream my Xbox Series X to my computer using the xbox app, would I need an adapter to use this controller or would it work without one? (Edit: I bought one and tested it, You do not need an xbox controller plugged into the hitbox when using the xbox app.)
