He doesn't actually object to paying more tax, just the way that it is being spent. The Isle of Man neither receives or processes asylum seekers, neither does Jersey.
Its not about the amount of money, its about how it is spent, and about the safety of his three daughters. We have small geographical pockets of sanity, he's sought them out.

Most clearly feel they’ve earned their privileged position, and that “life is fair”.
Their views and actions should matter to us all. Like it or not, they have disproportionate political influence - representing a large proportion of key decision-makers in business, the media, political parties and academia, not to mention most senior doctors, lawyers and judges.

Starmer and his cronies are a joke when it comes to business and businessmen because they do not get that it is the millionaires in the UK that pay the vast majority of tax and they are the ones who can move very easily abroad if tax conditions deteriorate in the UK and that is what is happening> the unwarranted tax attack on pension pots, the VAT on private schools the NI attack on business all send millionaires reaching for their passports - and it will only get worse - the brain drain has been seen before under Labour so why are we surprised? As for Starmers announcement of the AI programme - what a joke - he is asking the people Labour hate to stump up the money and take the investment risk to do it and will tax them to the hilt whether they succeed or not - compare this the the US announcement of Starlink $500 BILLION of investment into AI and a new company set up to do it with Larry Ellison ChatGPT etc. running the show - we have not got a hope of competing here as investors are crucified with high taxes on investments with Capital Gains Tax etc. Inward investment to the UK will also diminish under labour because of the above

I really feel for people in privileged jobs and on six-figure salaries, complaining that they’re “struggling”
They most clearly feel they’ve earned their privileged position, and that “life is fair”.
Their views and actions should matter to us all. Like it or not, they have disproportionate political influence - representing a large proportion of key decision-makers in business, the media, political parties and academia, not to mention most senior doctors, lawyers and judges.
These people who, while a long way from the UK’s “super-rich”, enjoy far more wealth and privilege than the majority of the country.

Look at the urgency and sense of purpose and optimism of the new Trump administration. Contrast that with the pessimistic approach of this government with their tax rises and their green policies and their endless doom and gloom. Talk about Heathrow but we have been talking about expanding it for decades and nothing happens. We need a fresh sense of purpose and go get it done and we need to be ruthless like Trump. We cannot cope with asylum numbers so cancel it - simple.

A lot of people are millionaires now, because house prices have gone up so much. Just because you live in a house worth >£1M, doesn't mean you're "rich". In fact, you could be fairly poor, despite living in a house worth >£1M. A lot of homes in London are priced well beyond that now, despite their owners not being rich.
