On the pinwheel plus one I would just make it square by removing the bottom 2 rows. Makes a good size for baby , 45 in square.

This ability to resize and change the Three Yard Quilters makes them so much fun.

Fran, so glad you offered these ideas for downsizing. Our church group is doing lap quilts for nursing home patients. Your instructions help adjust your 3 yard patterns to perfect sizes. Thank you!

When downsizing, there is enough fabric to make a simple 4 or 9 patch doll quilt for baby girls ; a teddy bear or soft toy animal blanket for baby boys. 2. There would be enough fabric for making over the shoulder burp pads backed by flannel. Many useful items could be made with the balance of the 3 yd pattern fabrics. Thanks for the fun video. The kits are beautiful.

Thank you once again for reading my mind. I was just thinking that I can use the extra "blocks" for an after quilt back. Or just add to the stash of fabrics but I think I will be putting them into the backing. Thank you again, you are amazing and so very talented.

Great suggestions. Please use the term “row” for horizontal, and “column” for vertical. Thanks.

I made the Sew Quick using the choir ladies fabric for my BFF. She sang in the choir at church it reminded me of her so much. I renamed the quilt to "Sing Sister, Sing". It was a Christmas gift several years ago. Thank you for coming up with this idea. I really appreciate it. Will be using your "Fascination" pattern found in the "Magic of 3-Yard Quilts" book. Reduced the number of blocks down to 3 across and 4 down. Will be the perfect size for a wall hanging in my small (674 Square feet) apartment and am doing it in fall fabric. Can hardly wait to see how it comes out. Will be sending a photo of it when done.

How enjoyable! Thanks. I love to think of the wonderful quilts that will be made from these kits and the little darlings who will rest beneath them and perhaps treasure them for years.

I love your patterns! Just looking at the quilts you showed inspires me to start something new. I love your enthusiasm for the fabrics-that’s how I feel about the ones I use. Thanks for a great video, Fran.

I love your videos! I've watched them all! I finally made my first quilt from one of your patterns. It took me a long time to decide. I made Boxes and Bows with 6 rows each way and 2 borders using fabrics 2 & 3 for a smaller baby quilt measuring. 46"x46". I love it! I'm going to use my leftover yardage as part of my pieced back. Thanks so much for the inspiration

Excellent video! Although I am aware about the downsizing (I do it in my head!!!!) these are super tips. Some of the quilt sizes are just a bit too big for what our guild does for our charity (Children’s Advocacy Center for kids in crisis). What I especially liked in this video (and others) is showing what the quilt will look like with the selected fabrics. With my trust iPad I take screen shots so I can remember all the info! Just had a thought - I’m betting that getting 2 of the same fabric kits would work into 3 smaller quilts or maybe just a bit more (something for the maker????!!!!!!).

I am going to make all the pattern shapes but see if I might want to put the blocks together in a way that. I would make wall hangings.

Hello Fran, great video on downsizing quilts. I love that you showed so many great examples. And by taking the two pieces of paper and squaring it up, we can choose whichever pattern we want. Love all the tips looking forward to seeing more of your videos. ❤️

I love the idea of downsizing your patterns. My coworker is expecting a baby girl this summer and I plan to make a quilt. I'm waiting to find out the nursery theme before I buy fabric. I keep seeing what fabric you sell and I hope I can use some of yours.

I made Tic Tac with a flannel front and back. Because of the added weight of the fabrics I only used a heavy sheet piece as the interior. It is a fabulous weight and quality. Enjoy.
