Shops in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR also sells traditional Mooncakes 🥮 with lotus bean paste, with nuts, single egg yolk, or double egg yolks. There are sweet icy mooncakes that come in a variety of flavours from chocolate fillings to strawberry fillings, to MACHA fillings, to custard fillings, etc. They are all very delicious 🤤😋
I love mooncakes, especially the lotus seed version! I just do not like the salty egg yolk varieties. When I was young, I always looked forward towards buying lanterns and parading around town with the lanterns. Thank you so much showing to us such a wonderful Mid-Autumn festival in Beijing! Yes, I do know about the adjusted holidays in China. Very confusing for us the Western countries, especially when I had people working for me in China. They have to go into office on a Saturday to make up for the adjustment and sending me emails or talking to me on my day off!
It seems you have a sweet tooth, preferring desserts with a sweet flavor rather than salty ones. Haha, I hope that in terms of holidays, Chinese companies will soon catch up with international standards! Thank you for watching my video, and happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 😃😃
Miao's English is progressing, but the subtitles do help. Her english is about as good as my Girlfriend's; and sometimes I have problems understanding my GF 😎
Here in the US, we celebrate Thanksgiving that was originally a harvest festival. It is always celebrated on the 4th Thursday in November. Family members try to come home to celebrate together with the theme of giving thanks. Traditionally, it is celebrated with a turkey dinner as your Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates with mooncakes. So, there are some similarities between our two holidays.
In Germany, people have alway 31 paid vacation days and it is a national sport to take them together with national holiday to complete a weekend or a week without visiting there company.
It’s amazing to have 31 days of paid vacation, so employee-friendly! In our case, newly hired employees usually don’t have paid leave. After working for one or two years, we typically get 8-10 days off annually. I’m hoping our companies will progress and learn how to give more vacation to employees! hahahaha~Thank you for watching my video!😃😃
Yes, when I mentioned "give thanks," it immediately reminded me of Thanksgiving. There are indeed many shared aspects across different cultures. Thank you for watching my video, and happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 😃😃
The video subtitles on TH-cam gave an error. I wanted to translate from English to Portuguese but the Chinese ideograms appeared and it ended up not translating.
Same moon cake in Australia is $10 now. Probably 75 percent off after Autumn Festival. But I don't like it much anymore because high in sugar, oil and chorestorol. Basically expensive heart attack food. 😂😅

@@Miaoslifeinbeijing That is probably okay, because I read in China people are retired between 50 and 55 now. So it is the compensation.😉
