I love how compassionate Starr is when she finds out what her brother did to Shane. She is the most compassionate of the Mannings along with Dani. Jack before he got SORASed was mischievous but still had a good heart but after they aged him he became “Todd” (Victor) 2.0 or worse. Shane did absolutely nothing to him and bullied him so bad to the point he was about to jump off the school roof. Idk why anyone would treat someone like that it’s to cruel. I remember I was a freshmen when this aired and was on the edge of my futon begging Shane not to jump.
Stefan Snellgrove yeah, despite having been such a mischievous kid she becomes a very kind young woman. Also, she herself dealt with a fair bit of taunting when she got pregnant. I liked that this scene showed loving someone doesn’t equal making excuses for bad behavior.
Jack Manning is an entitled little brat! And now what he had done to Gigi, he has gone TOO far! Here's hoping he IS tried and sentenced for what he did!
Why didn't I hear about this story before? I watched OLTL religiously for over ten years, though I stopped long before this storyline ran. One thing is for sure, OLTL never did shy away from topical issues. I was also bullied when I was younger, though it was before the internet age and never as vicious as this. I can also take comfort in knowing that most of the kids who bullied me have either dropped off the earth or are in jail.
Yeah its a great storyline, I always loved Gigi the most, especially her relationships with Shane and Rex. Love rewatching it as it has such compassion and faces the issues of suicide, well written.
My heart breaks for Gigi in these scenes when she breaks down reading the letter and when they are on the roof no mother should have to see her child in pain like that or read a letter like that because of people bullying to the point he saw no other way out.
@AlbieGray did you see the Dec 23 episode? Shane got Jack's confession (via Neela) to John McBain. At the end, he arrived at the house and said "Jack, you're under arrest for the murder of Gigi Morasco." Yet neither of them know that Gigi is actually alive and with Rex at the Bonjour Cafe! They're piecing together what really happened that night.
Jack Manning and his friends are such idiots, Bullying is wrong. I know how it feels to be bullied and now most of those kids are either dead or in jail. Popularity is a hardship. But I look at it this way, If popular means being mean to other kids who are not popular then you don't need it.
Yeah I'd say fuck them all...i hope all of them lose all their scholarships to attend every single college i hope they lose it all i don't care if their just kids they were just as well invloved as well as they were.
@@edwardmorales5799 Jack should have been setting a better example for the other kids. He thinks just because his parents has money he can do anything he wants to and get away with it. That is not true at all, even rich kids has to answer to what they do wrong.
Forever Mrs. Anime doesn't matter though, it would still be considered child pornography whether it was done by an adult or a child, the only difference is this is a soap opera and they bend the law and stuff for the sake of fictional drama. if this was real life there'd be some serious charges and federal prosecution
@@CaptainPikeachu True, there would be camera to show what really happened and Jack would get expelled for all he did, along with his friends Beth and Brad.
Jack is partly lex Luther and Shane is partly super man beacuse, of his inhaler problems and his kyrptonite weaknesses, of fear of hate, jealousy and insecurities if you think about it.
There's no humanizing Jack Manning, he's a monster. Plain and simple, a bully, a whiner and a coward. Saying he's jealous would make him too excusable, that's my take on it.
That is true because he keeps saying he wants more attention from his mom and dad. His mom and dad paid more attention to Star a lot and Jack just wants the same attention. Parents who have more then just one kid should treat and love their kids equally.
Jeffrey Grossman Jack is the product of his parents and their perpetual leniency with his behavior - his parents are always in some drama, his dad did all that bad shit, his mother has pulled some equally messed up crap, inevitably that kind of parental role model is gonna end up with a screwed up kid. It doesn't help that Jack wants to emulate his father who was a former rapist who has gone to jail for numerous crimes. And you can see the seeds of this kind of behavior from even when he was younger, how he mouths off and talks down to people, how he rebels against authority and does what he wants without any regard for consequences, only difference was, he was much younger and nobody put their foot down with him because they just thought he was cute and precocious. in the kind of environment he's grown up in with his parents constantly fighting and doing shitty things to each other, it's not shocking Jack turned out like this. Starr is older and for the most part she did grow up in relative stability with Todd and Blair. Dani grew up away from Todd's drama with Tea as her guardian and didn't know her family til she was already a teenager with a set of morals. then you have Sam who's the baby and gets the attention and is well looked after because he's the youngest. which leaves Jack as the middle child competing with his sisters and brother. Jack is the one who has grown up midst the most amount of troubled family drama. Todd and Blair's constant back and forth, Tea getting involved, every single family drama has all landed on Jack as he's growing up, he's had the least amount of familial stability, in fact if you look at the stuff with Jack's previous actor Carmen LoPorto, most of those scenes consist of Jack trying to solve his family's problems and dealing with his parents' millionth time of break up and getting back together and fighting and mud slinging and attacks. All of this is a recipe for a kid who's never had anyone to really sit him down and set him straight to become this amoral monster and bully.
Christina Rupert parents don't pick favorites purposely nor do they not love all their kids equally on purpose either, generalizing like that is dismissing the reality of context and circumstances. when and at what stage in your life when you had your kid has a huge effect on how you think of that child and your treatment of that child, many of those feelings are tied to circumstances. if a kid is born when two parents are happy and grows up in that environment, of course there's alot of attention but if suddenly family circumstances change or parents break up, a child born around that time may get handed a completely different kind of parental attention. And that's not even considering that as people get older, they learn more about parenting, so the mistakes you may have made with your oldest kid may not be repeated again with your next one or vice versa. separating parenting from experience and circumstance is not fully looking at the picture. Todd and Blair do love all their kids, but the fact remains that Jack grew up during a very tumultuous time when his parents' relationship were constantly changing and there were alot of drama, and by extension of that, Jack was often left to deal with many of those consequences whereas Starr and Dani both had relatively stable lives.

they are technically kids themselves so it's not the same as it would be if they were adults
