Despite the atrocity this rip was, it was a fun watch. I feel your pain Stryker. What you experienced on this rip is what I experience every time I rip. The spreadsheet may say that hangers have the best value and odds, but what it doesn’t account for is the higher chance to pull absolute garbage.
That's exactly what I went through with the series 1 hangers. Absolute garbage. And all the fat packs I bought were just trash. I bought a lot and only pulled TWO Wander base cards. Hardly any parallels. I did pull a Gavin Sheets auto and a numbered Juan Soto Generation Now. Other than that, you could put em in the spokes of a bike.
You are 100% correct, Step in the Box Brett is the luckiest opener I have EVER seen. His channel, and your channel are by far my favorites. Keep up the great work...........
Thank you for posting the reality of card collecting. Not every pack/box has a huge hit, but when they do it is nice.

I’ve got 8 hobby boxes coming, hoping for a big pull.
Picked up 3 hangers at Barns & Noble after watching this video... Pulled an Archie Bradley blue and my very first pull of a HFA card ( Bryant.... would have been happy with almost anyone else). We see with your second rip that the potential is there in the hanger box but I will always remember this video when I purchase a hanger lol.

Even the law of averages, bell curve, or standard deviation to the mean would have said your break was below average results. Your Best Value video on hangers had me so hyped for this rip. I’m sorry 🤷🏻♂️but you and the video were still super entertaining.
I hate how much I laughed throughout this simply because it reminded me of so many of my openings. I felt every bit of angst and anger you had. Lol
But the Brendan Donovan gold at the end isn’t horrible. He’s older (25) but had a 4.1 WAR this season and won a gold glove.
I know you weren’t pleased about packing ramos, but he’s a former 1st rounder and has been a very highly touted prospect since he was drafted. He just turned 23 and he’s a potential sleeper from this product.

Got two hangers. One was a complete dud. The other had 1 card that was /499 and parallel. It paid for the box but that was it. just have had no luck with Update in blaster or hanger form. My hobby box should be here in another week. We shall see what happens. If that fails then I'm done with Update.

If there’s one thing I can guarantee you is that you most definitely didn’t break even. The move this year are the hobby boxes. Blasters seem to be better than hangers.
I’ve pulled way better stuff from the hangers so far. Every one has had either a numbered card or SP so far for me.

Carnage. One of the problems with this checklist is after the top 10 or 12 rookies and rookie debuts what do you have? A couple superstars like Freeman, Pujols etc. A couple nice team cards (Cardinals teammates, Aces Up) but it’s like 90% commons and unknown rookies.

i bought hangers from 4 different stores target , walmart , barns and noble , walgreens . walgreens was the the store i bought more from . pull alot of julio rodriguez . already sold the julio home field advantage n the gold /2022
My brother Stryker, i gotta say i stepped back for nearly 6 months bc i had to; family & financial obligations yknow… but i gotta say once again you got me back into the hobby now that i have the time and financially can afford the extra spending on some cards.. i ripped open a hobby of update, must say its amazing!! & i did a hanger case of update… question: bc i just bought a jumbo, i may buy either another jumbo or 2 hobbys or anothwr case of hangers, which do u think i should go with??
2 hobbys would give you a lot of bang for your buck. Hopefully catch a good silver pack
I rewatched the replay and that was brutal! couple nice hits but for that amount of hangers in a case and with this checklist you'd expect a bit more from 64 boxes! You should make a Ballad of Bradley for those archie parallels you pulled 😂
I've opened 4 hangers and I think they were better than my jumbo box, got multiple Jrod Bobby and 5 numbered cards

Love your honest but we need to stop the hype on update. Will the rookies in this product really be worth anything unless it's a SSP or rare parallel? Too many RCs this year. And we still have Chrome to come..

I am certain that if you hadn’t seen PEDs video first, you wouldn’t have thought the case was as bad as it was. It’s still not “good” by any stretch but PEDs box was bananas.
I've never had much luck from Steelcity if that's where you got those from..... I've bought a lot of products from them. And never a good hit.
I think you've got to be very happy with a ssp Abrams and the bobby. What more are you looking to get?? I think that was a success.

After retiring from selling/buying baseball cards & memorabilia i started watching your "strikes". Then you compared topps 2022 "best value". It showed topps hanger box. So I ordered 1 box earlier today! Now I WATCHED YOU BREAK (os should i say "BROKE") A CASE.... I NOW I HAVE AN "EMPTY STOMACH" (CONSUMED 4 HOT DOGS, APPLE PIE, CHIPS, 32 OZ DR. PEPPER & SNACKS TO WATCH THE BREAK!!! WAS HOPING TO RECOUP MY INVESTMENT.NOW IT LOOKS LIKE AN INFESTMENT!!!! WILL LET YOU KNOW I FISHED (USING A BARE HOOK) OUT OF THE BOX!!!

Your CJ Abrams SSP is selling for about $130 on eBay... so that's a great start to getting some return
I just ripped my case, can give you a breakdown if you are interested. It was nowhere near as brutal as yours. I did get about 20 hangers before my case came and they were complete trash compared to the case. It seems like the variance is pretty wide on these unfortunately.

Hey Stryker I know you get a lot of msg and comments but just wondering, I pulled a 1/25 Pujols 9th all time home run’s card, and there’s no comparable cards anywhere except a 1/25 camo of his base card for $500. What do you (or anyone in the comments) estimate this things value at?? Just really need help with this one figured either you, or the community could help me with this one!
Plz help me before my dad tries to sell it for 70 on me 😂😂 he keeps undervaluing my cards even though we BOTH use 130point, and the most recent sales are showing more than what he’s suggesting. I have a Bobby Sp as well, it’s been saying $130 for sales. So honestly also just an additional point, my top cards for this run are the short prints! And anything Julio lol

I know, I know a day late and a dollar short, but I think and believe I know what went wrong with this PC break for you after watching this entire video from start to finish. What you did wrong my friend and what one should never ever do is start off by disrespecting the HOF's and stars that you pulled early on that KARMA will and did come right back around and kicked you right in the Kester. You pulled a Freeman and dissed him like yesterday's garbage, you pulled a Betts and dissed him like some unknown rookie nobody, you pulled a Schwarber SP and dissed him like he's no big deal, you pulled those HOF's and dissed every one of them and you just can't do that. You have to give respect where respect is do whether you like those players or the teams they play for or not. It seemed as though you kind of forgot good vides gives back and bad vibes will do the same in return, it's always a two-way street my friend and one must always treat it as such yes, no, maybe, sometimes, always, never? If one stays in the middle of the road i.e., good vibe, bad vibe as you did, one will eventually get squished like a grape during wine making season and you definitely got squished in this one.
But hey all is not lost and you have to look at the bright side of things especially here in this case, I know it's hard but there is one, you did hit the averages maybe even a little bit better than what you said you'd get in your comparison video by opening these hangers, hangers as we like to say are bangers even though it didn't quit workout like you wanted it to. I get it you got mostly average Joe everyday player numbered/colored cards, but the money could still be there for those who're trying desperately to put those sets together after all you have the cards that are generally the hardest ones to get when putting these sets together, yes? You know the everyday average Joe Smuckatelli players that everyone seems to have a very hard time trying find and get when one needs them to finish off their sets, and guess what? You my friend have pretty much all of them in hand and ready to go for whom ever wants them and are willing to pay LOL and there's your bright side to all of this.
Question: I thought every case is supposed to have at least one case hit in every case that's why they're called case hits correct? So, what happened here? Could it be what I mentioned above about Karma and what not possibly? Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed your video as always even though it was hard watching you suffering from all those hit/miss hits you got. Better luck next time and I look forward to your next video, hopefully I will be able to watch it live and not a replay. You and your family have a nice, safe and blessed upcoming week.
