Instead of America spending money on their BS wars, why don't they just spend their money on electrifying these railways?

Electrifying the of thousands of miles of track would cost an astronomically large amount of money. America is a MUCH larger country compared to other countries that have electric rail lines, so it's easier said than done. On top of that, America didn't electrify a little at a time like other countries. However, efforts are actively being made to change this, and it likely won't be long before change actually arrives.
