thanks so much for going over the scoring - that's the hardest part of this game! I'm part a of a board game club and we've been putting off learning this game cus the rules looked so complicated, but after watching this and a few other videos I think I can finally teach everyone how to play :)
Used this video to learn and play the game last night! Thanks for this! Very concise. We only had a few question: 1) Can you place moat tiles adjacent to ANY other moat tile, even if it doesn't necessarily contribute to surrounding the palace? For example, the moat has started being built around the left side of the palace. Can someone place a moat tile adjacent to the main board and just keep going along that edge so as not to advance the end game condition? 2) It wasn't specifically mentioned, but we assumed since there are no swans on the stairs, that you get no swans for placing stairs? 3) What is the purpose of tracking your room building a second time across each row? Is it purely for the free swan at the 3rd position? We assumed that the bonus on the right side did not double if you ultimately built 10 of the same room type, or triple if you were somehow able to build 15 (if that's even possible).
At 19:32 you say you could break the tie if you had a favor tile in that spot. Is this true? Do both room tiles and favor tiles activate the special abilities on the Blueprints board, or just room tiles?
TheGameBoyGeek - Hi Quality Hi Energy Board Game Reviews Thank you for the quick response! This was a fantastic video, by the way. I wasn't even interested in this game, but now it's a "Must Have". Look forward to your review.
metalapollo I don't have access to the book at this time, but if you place this question In the link given in the description of the video for further questions, Bezier might help answer it too.
I did not like castles of Mad King Ludwig. I didn't like the central mechanisms and I thought the art direction was lazy. Will I like this game and should I give it a try?
The mechanisms here are pretty different. No master builder setting prices, and you're building one palace vs your own castle. There is a lot more interaction between players I think.

Greg Lowery best is to post your questions in the link in the video so Bezier can jump in.

Oh that one slipped past both myself and the publisher. If you had a room tile their diagonally, you would get the points if tied for a favor.

Do you only at moat tiles when a room is completed? Not when you add a new room to the market?
What is your opinion about the game? Similar to suburbia and Castles of Mad King Ludwig? (I own and really like both)
You'll have to wait for the review as this was the rules tutorial :)
What happens after you run out of player tokens?

Did I miss what secret swans do?
Dustin Hollis some goals you need specific swans for and other people can't see how many you have of a certain type.
