- We just landed in INDONESIA! A new journey begins, we are so glad that we arrived safely in Jakarta!
We plan to explore the beautiful country of the Indonesia and eat a lot of local food. Join us in this new adventure and be part of the experience too.
In this video, we just landed in Jakarta, a little bit tired but excited. A little bit lost too but super happy. We took the train from Jakarta airport to the city. It was already an experience. We also had our first dinner in a local restaurant, had our first Indonesian food and it was AMA ... WAIT FOR IT ... ZING! AMAZING!
Lyn could not eat for a few days before travelling to Indonesia because she can get a little bit anxious with all the paperwork etc. So, she was very pleased to discover the delicious Indonesian food and instantly felt better!

Food Recomendation :
- Martabak, there is 2 type : Manis (sweet) sometimes called Terang Bulan and Asin/Telor (savory/egg)
- Padang food, especially "Rendang" (the restaurants are all over the place in Indonesia, just ask the local for nearby padang restaurant)
- Soto, each area has different type all are delicious, you are just eating Soto from Boyolali area in this video
- Sate with peanut sauce

That soup we call soto Boyolali one of famous in that area so delicious...and if you want to buy some drink or snacks you can get in store we call Indomaret and Alfamart there so many place you can see that mart...

I like that you took public transportations at your first visit in Indonesia, then finding local restaurant to eat local food. I hope you enjoy Jakarta.
Just in case you guys feeling bit homesick and craving for some French patisseries, Jakarta has plenty of options. Monsieur Spoon is one of the most popular local French restaurant chains and you could find this at Plaza Indonesia, Senayan City, Pacific Place and Pondok Indah Mall. Cipete in South Jakarta is well known as little Paris because there is a French school there and many French expats lived there. This area also known for chic bistros, cafe, and various culinary spots

@@DanandLyn i m glad if foreigner love our food , i can recomend u guys some types of Soto such as Soto Betawi , Soto Kudus , Soto Makassar , Rawon , or maybe u can try other food option such as Nasi Padang , Bakso, Sate Kambing (goat skewer) , Sate Ayam (chicken skewer) , Nasi Goreng , Martabak u can try the savory one and the sweet one, and etc 😂 i cant tell more indonesia actually has more than 24000 types of foods 😂, 6000 already recognized and listed . basically indonesian food influenced by India , China , Middle Eastern , South east asian and Netherland food , and then indonesia have 17000 island 1340 ethnic groups each group has their own food , even with the same ethnic but different city u can find slightly different food until totally different foods.

Finally another foreign vloggers take our skytrain, airport train, and metro at once. You know, not really much foreigners do so. The other one I knew is Dale Phillips.
Anw, that metro is locally called "commuter lines". We Asians, specifically Indonesians, have different term for each train system. The system closest enough to the metro in Europe is our MRT and LRT. I hope you have the chance to try them.
We love taking the transportation when it's possible that's why we try. Except the waiting time (but we could rest in the lounge), we found it great. Clean, confortable and fast to get to the city 👍
We recommend it for sure!

@@DanandLyn yep, the airport train is reliable in terms of punctuality and convenience. In a city like Jakarta, taking a car/taxi is unpredictable.

C'est définitivement la façon de profiter de votre nourriture en Indonésie. Si vous voulez ajouter un peu de piquant, vous ajoutez une quantité abondante de « sambal » et si vous voulez qu'il soit plus sucré, vous ajoutez du « kecap manis » et si vous voulez qu'il soit plus aigre, vous ajoutez du « citron vert ». Ces trois ingrédients sont généralement disponibles sur la table à manger des restaurants. Hope you’ll enjoy your time in Indonesia! There’s plenty of food to try so please don’t stop at just nasi goreng and mi goreng like so many tourists here.

If you have more time in Jakarta, I recommend to visit Glodok. Its Jakarta’s Chinatown. You can see different side of Jakarta. Many interesting things and good street foods. Kopi Es Tak Kie 👌

Just so you know that what you did was uncommon to some of us Jakarta born kids, as we're too spoiled by private transportations. Please do take some credit for giving us insights of our city, as I've lived here for 30 years and never even ride the train within the city and only rode the MRT (subway) once LOL. Have a great trip in Indonesia and please eat some martabak manis !
Haha your comment make us smile. Interesting to know because in Paris we rarely use car and always use transportation due to traffics and lack of parking space. This is maybe why we are fascinating with transportation system and found it very convenient. But we love to take taxis too 😉

Soto ayam looks like a filipino dish called goto. It looks like it but not quite like it. I would like to try it. It seems like a nice breakfast dish or a sideline merienda.

Welcome! You picked the best forms of transport. Although I wouldn't say the KRL (2nd train) is a subway/metro. It is a commuter rail similar to RER or S-Bahn.

Take Grab or Gojek for transportation, it's more convenient way to go to where you want to go, and doesn't have to wajt for that long. And it's relatively cheaper too

FYI Jakarta has several train network. From Soekarno Hatta to Manggarai is kereta api bandara (airport train) not subway / métro. From Manggarai to Sawah Besar is commuter line (suburban rail / RER). The real subway / métro is only one line MRT Lebak Bulus - Bundaran HI.
