If I left the @ off, then those should just be numbers, but with the @ you can click on them to make the video skip directly to that time. (At least, that's how it used to work. I'm honestly not certain if the @ is still necessary. TH-cam has changed a lot lately.)
The 'Save Our Ship' mod seems really cool but I've been waiting for it to get updated for quite a while now. However when it does I'll jump on it like the pack of 25 squirrels jumped on my pawn.
There's a 1.4 temp version hosted on the mod authors GitHub that gets updates pretty often I haven't used it personally but if your itching to try SOS2 it might be worth you're time
I'm kinda surprised that Combat Extended wasn't included, considering how massively that mod both alters combat and breaks modpacks with infamous compatibility
Rimfactory pairs really well with rimatomics, I think rimfactory is pretty much the only way to make money from manufacturing machinery, since t3 miners pretty much give infinite steel, although they consume a lot of power (which is where rimatomics comes in). Even the rimworld wiki doesn't mention manufacturing weapons or armor as a means of making money, which makes sense, since in the base game steel is kind of scarce in the late game

I remember cleaning up my modlist once, because 300+ mods was to laggy, and I discovered that 90% of it was Genetic Rim. Like, I get it is big. But I didn't get that it is "bigger than all the other big mods combined times 9" big
This is a little late to the party but combine the mech expanded with exotic tech and the mechanoids ( lancer’s specifically) will spawn with cryorifles-- adds a lot to difficulty as they can knock you easily even with glitter tech armor
AoTC is definitely one of my favourites. I deeply enjoy plinking the mechs off ship chunks from outside of their detection range. the sniper rifles are practically artillery. I'll need to check out that royalty expansion expansion.
The magic mod is deep, but it gets deadly. I had a lich show up and slaughter my entire colony. Rimatomic is awesome, I just stay away from nuclear weapons. I haven't tried the caravan, I think I need to check that out.

As someone who's actually played with AotC and TPoC on top of that, let me tell you this: Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, add archotech-tier factions if you have AotC and TPoC installed. It's all fun and games until ONE raider spawns with a Terminus and destroys your entire base in ten seconds. And if you MUST play with an archotech hostile faction enabled, then be prepared to restart constantly and hope against hope that you get to Stable Matter before your wealth is high enough for that faction to send someone well equipped against you.
How many big mods can you combine together and they will work fine? Or which ones play well together. I know the VE ones work well together, but what other ones can you use with it without the game chugging like crazy?
I run Rimfeller, Rimatomics, Sparkling Worlds, Go Explore, most of the VE mods, Ambition of the Cosmos, SOS2, and quite a few more at the same time without much trouble.
I mean, I have every single one listed in this video aside from SoS2 in my current 588 mod playthrough and there's only like, 1 very specific performance issue that's likely from 1 specific mod that I'm just too lazy to track down, and it's not big enough for me to really be bothered by it. Just run the performance mod package, including performance fish (not on the workshop, but completely safe and is honestly the best of them) and excluding rimthreaded (let's just put rimthreaded this way - It's questionable if it's even compatible with the game with no other mods.) You do need at least 16GB ram to play heavily modded (my game's regularly using 7-10GB) and it might take upwards of an hour to launch the game and generate new worlds (actual save loading shouldn't ever take more than a minute or 2), but just like Minecraft, so long as the mods themselves aren't incompatible with each other, you can run hundreds of mods just fine.
As mentioned in an earlier comment, you may as well give up on waiting. With 1.5 looming and 1.4 still in beta, it is likely that that their updates to make it compatible will likely get thrown into the blender.

Don't worry too much about the art. Use wharever you can draw or some cc sprites as placeholder and after your mod is on let a message asking for voluntary artist. The workshop is a team work.

SOS2 is cool until you remember its pointless given how shitty Rimworld is coded.

They have workend on compatability a lot and new mods get patched quite fast. I'm running 482 mods and have no issues with compatability due to CE.

Save Our Ship is Rimworld 2.0 territory for me. It has that much potential. I wish it could get worked into the vanilla game.
