      @@hawken796 no, it’s not. I’m sure the players enjoy you rooting for them to take it easy though.
      The sport itself reduces the longevity of players, just like every other sport. Players have the ability to manage the impact through particular conditioning and endurance training, but these players of today choose not to do such things. That’s fine, but the crying needs to stop
      It’s the same game, but even EASIER and less physical than it’s ever been, and the money is coo-koo. These players do not require the plebes to state their case - they have plenty of money to get professionals to do that for them

    The fact is is that the wear and tear of these guys body is crazy because they are playing way more basketball games than they are practicing at youth and at some point in time that wear and tear on the human body catches up to you; also the specialization of playing a single sport absolutely wrecks the human body
    edit: science has also proven that kids who plays single sport or more prone to an injury in their sport plus this is why Europeans actually stay more healthy than Americans is because they practice more and they’re actually forced to do other activities besides their sport as they’re growing up to their body
    plus the food today doesn’t have enough fiber to make up for the loss in the deficiencies within their body too

    • @justtimes9257
      @justtimes9257 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NightRogue77 no that was not my point at all. It’s just to understand what happens to the human body when you specialize in a single sport that’s why certain players are more print entries than others because the guys who do multiple sports and don’t specialize, usually are less likely to be injured than guys who do specialize
      edit: human body is not meant to just do a single repetitive man actions. It’s meant to do a diversity of actions to bounce out the body.

    imo load management makes these athletes weaker. i also doubt how much work they really put towards their conditioning. by the things i've seen and heard, many guys are more interested in partying and playing video games than training. sitting out games hurts your conditioning, and your body can't get used to the stress. you cannot tell me that playing a 48 minute basketball game every other day is more taxing on the body than working at a warehouse, factory, or construction site for 7+ hours at a time. and the people who do that aren't considered to be super athletes. the game isn't even as physical as it once was. the difference is that after a while, your body gets used to the labor, and the necessity of the work makes you push through discomfort. these guys get paid so much money, the need to play isn't there. these dudes sit out for soreness, not even real injuries. so yeah, man, i think these dudes are just soft millionaire frat kids who don't want to play if they don't have to.

      I think 68 would do great. You play against every NBA team twice (58 games), and play against your division (8 games), plus 2 possible play-in match-ups. That would lower the decrease in revenue and take a bit of the wear and tear on the athletes

    and on the issue of scheduling and load management etc...
    just make the regular season stretch over two or three additional weeks.. makes way more sense than than the 65 game rule.. especially since the 65 game rule ties to regular season awards that, ultimately, determine contract opportunities..
    all that does is devalue the PlayOffs as said contract opportunities are almost exclusively tied to regular season performance.. not to mention of course the injury issue discussed in the video at hand..
    I've said it before:
    I'd rather have Kawhi for the 52 games I need to win to make the PlayOffs and bench/rest him for the remainder of the regular season.. so that I have my Kawhi fir for the PlayOffs..
    rather than have him go 72 games because "the fans want to see him" but then he's injured in the PO and I go down in the 1st Round...

    this is a terrible take - I’m sorry but this is about to become a bit of a kerfuffle… (And btw the perpetration of this idea that the players of today play harder or are more physical or whatever, then those of the past, has been long since debunked.). Sure the NBA can do a couple of things to lessen the impact of a grueling schedule, but the bottom line is these players aren’t conditioned for endurance like old school players. They are conditioned for power, and that is a choice that they MAKE, consciously. Those trainers know what they are doing. And they are using the results of that, to try to blame on other things so that they can do less work for their tens of millions of dollars.
    Well I ain’t buying it. Tone down some of those muscles and get a bit leaner, and those injuries will be mitigated to a HUGE degree. But should you choose to play for power versus endurance, fine but STFU and deal with the consequences of your choices.
    And I hate to break it to you but what Kobe said doesn’t invalidate a single thing I’ve said. Both things can be influential, but JFC man I mean we understand enough about the human body to where we shouldn’t be so confused about this because I’m not…. Bro look at how HEAVY these players are today! Muscles are heavy my dude; this is actually a very simple matter. I mean JFC these guys will talk about a draft pick and how teams are concerned because of their weight their size etc. and whether or not they are going to injury prone, but then we’re all scratching our heads at why these giant sized human beings keep getting injured when they slam 230+ into the ground over and over again lol come on what are we talking about here??
    It should also be noted that NONE of these “superstars” have elected to attempt to change THEIR routines - THEIR training habits, and the things THEY DO, to improve things - nope, their effort starts AND stops at “load maintenance”, ie “less work”. Bruh y’all KNEW WHAT IT WAS B4 U GOT IN - stop cryin. GET LEANER and meaner, and lose some weight if you want to have longevity, ‘nuff said.

    • @NightRogue77
      @NightRogue77 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Quentinthemudkip no that too no doubt, to a degree - people should be mindful that their bodies are still growing and forming and not be putting the incredible strain they put on them as they do nowadays - and it’s infuriating because so many do it as a means to escape poverty, but I would think that this simply exacerbates the issue. Now you have a body that already has excessive wear and tear, and then in order to dominate at pro level, these trainers have these athletes hulking up…. Do recall that in the old days players used to beat the crap out of each other, legally, in the nba. Yet longevity endured more so than today.
      Ultimately I am of the opinion that even if you had a player who wore themselves out as a teenager, as long as they aren’t towing around 230+, they shouldn’t be TOO frail. It’s basic common sense you can’t have it both ways - you either mold your body for endurance or strength, or go the middle all-around route i guess, but I really do feel there are far too many athletes that are trying to “out-athlete’ The competition, versus beating them with a finely honed skill and talent.
