I get the feeling Walt's old crew (the ones who did the Oswald shorts with him that Charles Mintz signed over to work for him) worked on this short. It has that Disney-Oswald feel in the animation and the gags.
Disney-esque is how all cartoons of this Era were. Not many of the people who worked on the Disney shorts worked on this one, but they were certainly trying to emulate it. Then again, every studio was animating in the so-called "Disney" style
well, Walter Lantz and the first animators on his team spent time working with Disney's old crew after Mintz hired them away on top of that, Rollin Hamilton and Ray Abrams were themselves part of the old Disney crew
And then there were some animators who worked on Lantz's Oswald cartoons before working for Disney. Examples include Pinto Colvig, Clyde Geronimi, and Tom Palmer.
I actually like the early Universal Oswalds a lot. The Disney ones are definitely more professional, but the Universal ones have a scrappy charm that I just love.
The early Universal Oswald definitely still had some Disney qualities to it despite Disney no longer being involved. He even still had that iconic design he's known for before they started messing with the design during the 1930's.
2:10 No Ozzy. You'll regret that wish 420 of them later. ;) Also, is that supposed to be Ortensia/Kitty? Because she was in later Universal cartoons and still looked like her old Disney self.
Sinister Sweet I think they took out Ortensia after Walt Disney left Universal Studios than Charles Mintz took charge of Oswald giving a different cat called Kitty or Sadie.
actually, that is Ortensia, the whole reason she's in these shorts is because of Disney allowing Ortensia and even Pete to be used in some of Oswald's new cartoons (after Walt left).
But this isn't Walt Disney's Oswald, it's Walt Lantz' so this isn't really the Ortensia we know and love but I think this cat was named Kitty or Sadie.
Honestly, I assumed the girl here isn't his cat girlfriend, but a random bear/dog girl he got into a relationship with for this short. That doesn't look like a cat.
Eh Walt Disney's Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is better than Walter Lantz' Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. I'm here because I heard someone said that Oswald in here had a complete different girlfriend that wasn't Ortensia but a knockoff version of her called either Kitty or Sadie, the other lady from "Mechanical Man" another of Walter Lantz' Oswald was ugly and am I the only person who thinks that Fanny was originally Oswald's wife and biological mother of the Bunny Children til she died and that's why we have Ortensia since we have Walt Disney's Oswald return?
No Disney Ortensia is named "Sadie" and Waltuh Lantz Sadie is known as "Kitty" also that Sadie looking Character in this short is actually just a weird different character I think.

Nathaniel Lockhart I actually prefer Walt Disney's Oswald than Walter Lantz's Oswald.
The early Universal Oswald definitely still had some Disney qualities to it despite Disney no longer being involved. He even still had that iconic design he's known for before they started messing with the design during the 1930's.
@@sethhorst6158 to be fair, they messed with his design because they wanted to make him more like Mickey so he'd become more popular
6:35 and they moved into the universal logo.
That stork does not get paid enough for his job.
oswald is great,i love him!
2:05 and it came true

oIII interesting IIIo
Valerie Vargas actually, Ortensia had BOTH those names!
WTF DID YOU DO TO ORTENSIA UNIVERSAL?!?!
actually, that is Ortensia, the whole reason she's in these shorts is because of Disney allowing Ortensia and even Pete to be used in some of Oswald's new cartoons (after Walt left).
@Jeffrizzel The UNiversals were OK up to where they redrew Oswald in 1936.

0:08 Am I the only one who likes Oswald's flute voice?

Rockzipfel??? oO
my son prefers the van beuren cartoons from the 1910's when wcw/ecw is dead because of the now sting on the superstation june 6th 1998
pat shepherd Sting On Superstation?
And yes that isn’t ortensia its like a prototype or a dog or bear something like that?
Edit : that version is a prototype of her ;-;
It's a wannabe version of her
it's not a prototype, just a different character
Oswald and Hortensia are gonna get married
I don't think that's Ortensia ( doesn't look like her ).
But this isn't Walt Disney's Oswald, it's Walt Lantz' so this isn't really the Ortensia we know and love but I think this cat was named Kitty or Sadie.
I like this fucking movie it's awesome
Tyler Brown You’re clearly too young to be swearing.
Kitana Kojima I know and this is a cartoon not a movie
Honestly, I assumed the girl here isn't his cat girlfriend, but a random bear/dog girl he got into a relationship with for this short. That doesn't look like a cat.
But i think its a prototype of ortensia i think
por el pretroleo nada mas . XD
White Ortensia
Not every cartoon.
That bear is such a d-bag lol

i thought i was the only one with that sad theory lmao
@@bunniifangz I thought that would make more sense why she hasn't been seen again
