The spinning gorilla or ape at 1:40? Hopefully he/she IS playing and having fun...but it very well could be a result of poor living conditions, isolation, lack of stimulation. that's his only 'toy'....I saw a lonely example of this once at a small zoo outside Cincinnati where a pitiful solo primate was over in the corner of a barren enclosure with only a tire swing and log for companionship - the poor lethargic guy was chewing on his finger, and the tip was ground down. Since then I am fundamentally opposed to zoos.
Exactly my thought. Ever since I learned that playful behaviour by zoo animals displayed in short clips like this one, only might be a snippet of a repetetive behaviour that they have developed like an OCD, I just can´t look at this kind of clips the same way anymore...
