You claim the winflo is not good??? I bought pegasus 38 and sent them right back to the store. the outer soles are to small from the pegasus and they feel harder. i have winflo 7,it's like walking on a soft pillow and they give much more stability than the pegasus 38. and pegasus looks terrible because they are so small.
Honestly they’re one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve owned. Non pronated and running on the treadmill was a breeze. Honestly in my uneducated opinion they’re a really good shoe. I’m over weight so I felt fully supported
Thanks for the review! One of my most beloved pairs were the Winflo 4 back in 2018-19. I racked up miles with ease and they only got better as I broke them in. Sad to see the 8s aren't up to par with them according your review, RunRepeat, and countless others.
They're my first running shoes. Bought them at an outlet for $58. I just did my first run and they feel great to me, but obviously I haven't tried anything else and don't know what I'm missing. I have to add that I like them because they feel more water resistant with the plastic covering on top, than a lot of the other shoes I looked at- and I feel like I need it as it rains a lot where I live.
This is really helpful, I had just seen these were on sale and was tempted and this video popped up at the right moment. I’ll give them a swerve and look at something else as an option for a daily trainer.
I am wondering if all these negative reviews are starting to have an effect on Nike. Maybe in this industry you have to have a season where you crap up all your products so you can claim "lighter!" and "better" for the next five seasons 😂
He's right. Just bought a pair and his description is spot on. The over pronation was felt just standing in them. On a 14 mile last Sunday, I had to pull the plug 11.5 miles in. My feet hut so bad I took a Uber back to my car. I gave them a second try at the gym on the treadmill. And again, I stopped not even a mile in because my feet hurt. Decided to switch to cardio on the elliptical machine. Worst 40 mins ever! Avoid if you have even the slightest over pronation issues. Don't know if I can return them- no box and no receipt.
Yeah, when I step into it, I am already pronating. It’s the way it is made. I hated it. Stiff ride. Winflo 9 is very different. I picked up the Peg 38 for $55.
Great content, I was really thinking of getting this shoe, and I can actually get it for £48 should I still get it at that price or avoid just avoid full stop?...
I work in a pub/restaurant and I've been wearing them and they've been pretty uncomfortable and they are slippy too. Fine for walking the dog and I don't run so no opinion there. I also wore these while Queuing to view the Queen lying in state and again, my feet were aching and sore at the end after 12 hours. I'm so glad I did not pay for them, and they were not a gift. And yes, they do tilt inwards
Tried it on for an entire day. Shoe feels comfortable especially with the thick cushion. It looks great as well. However, the shoe feels warm in non air condition environment, & at times very warm! Returned the shoe in the end. Most of the reviewers (90%) commented they had a good time with winflo 8. Sadly I fall in the remaining 10%, where there were also some who commented that the shoe feels warm too. Would recommend against this shoe if you are living in a tropical/warm country.
I have to agree, I bought this shoe earlier this year for £65. Ran about 300K in it and they are pretty much done in. They were very good to start with, however, they feel like they have worn out quickly, my feet are getting sore on longer runs compared to my Saucony Rides. Maybe the cheaper price reflects that. Decent enough for how much running I do, but probably wouldn't buy it again.
Thank you for sharing that, and it's not just you because I was abnormally pronating when I try those (not even walking, only standing) and I was wondering if it was me or the shoe. I will return them and try the pegasus instead.
@@FordyRuns I had the same problem when I tested it in the store, just being stand I felt that I was pronating. just then I came to see videos, and found your test, it's not just your case.
Hey! You seem to know what you you are talking about, and I understand if you’re too busy to answer this, but i’ll try anyway. 15 yr old boy trying to get in to running (mostly on track). What would you recommend? Budget 50-80£. Thanks!
I have a similar problem with asics gt-2000 8. I am an overpronator, they are just like forcing my feet to pronate with a designated degree, which is less than my original pronation, but make me feel more unstable. Ironically, like winflo 8, they are marketed as stability shoes.
How much did you run in these shoes? I have winflo7 and feel like pronating while standing - not at all when running. Adjusting the inner sole might help though.
Hi! it happens the same to me. I dont run, only use them for every day use and my right foot feels uncomfortable because of that pronating sensation. Any solutions?
Theres been a lot of shoes this last year which get the basic running shoe geometry wrong. Is this a new development or gave running shoes always been a crap shoot?
Sadly bought this since it was on sale for 80AUD and felt my big toe hitting the top of that lil plastic tip of the shoe. Loved the spring it gave when I walked but it made my toe uncomfortable since it was somehow pointing to the middle and not outwards (or inwards?). Realised it was pronation like you said, next time I buy a shoe online I'll definitely put more thought into it 😔
Hello! Does anybody have experiences with Winflo 8 Shield? Is it probably the same with pronation issue? What are good alternatives for Winflo 8 Shield by you? :X
I think you make a good point about searching out older versions of good shoes for either the same amount or cheaper. Just because it’s a new version doesn’t mean it’s good.
i had seen them only on the internet and just ordered them. But at 3:12 you confirmed my first thought about the cheap looking. I just cancelled my order :P
Sir can you please recommend out of pegasus 38, puma nitro velocity and nike winflo 8, main use is walking, indoors bicycle, elliptical and also some weight training. Thanks in advance.
Amazing review. Some shoes are probably not good from the start.. I have a pair of New Balance 880 which in the right shoe there is like a hole in the midfoot that you only feel when running in them.. Production defect that you can not get a refund for..
I received the WINFLO 8 made in Brazil at home. In my sneakers they have inferior material, too simple and if it was in another country it wouldn't pass the quality test.
Had several pair of Winflo 4-5 and wore them into the ground. Had the 7s last year and had a pain on the first few days walking around (inside ankle) exactly as you described for the 8s Didn't think it was the shoe at first because never felt anything like it. I'll stick with my Pegs and Energy 3s Thanks for the leave alone advice!
Thanks for the heads up. nearly bought the damn thing. And its around 115 dollars (US) or 83 pounds here in India which is quite a lot considering our purchasing power parity. hows the pegasus 38?
Pegasus 38 sucks. the outer soles are very small . too small! i send them back. i have Winflo 7 and is much better than pegasus. but they rise up the prices for the winflo 8. 2 months ago you could buy them for 50 pounds. i think there is something wrong with the production now.
For a beginner runner probably a good starting point..for some one who runs to much like me and you fordy NO....cheaper Pegasus I think...another mass produced Nike shoe....

@@boogieszn9674I have a Winflo 5 and a Winflo 6...are the 8's more comfortable???
I just got a pair and I supinate, they actually feel really good on my runs. Ran 10 miles today at about 7:24 per mile and it felt good.

Just got a pair at the Nike outlet on clearance for 32$ I love them

The Winflo 8 actually only has the Zoom Air in the forefoot according to Nike's product page.
