I love how the Foundation sometimes doesn't poke the bear any more than necessary, and in some cases they ignore neon signs.
I think if there ever was to be a timeline the ones where they fuck around would be before or in another universe to the ones where they act rationally
It's because different writers are like different researchers. They each have a limit to their willingness to test.
honestly there's been a general trend throughout the wiki's history toward them usually being both less cautious and less competent (with exceptions) than they used to be in earlier entries, which is odd when you also consider early SCPs were mostly like "here's a random object that does spooky things and can kill or maim people, but luckily there's a weird room you can build to contain it" versus now where you regularly see "this thing is a literal god among gods and will suck up the Foundation's entire reality like spaghett noodle if they so much as look at it the wrong way (and they *will* look at it the wrong way)".

To be honest right now.. It almost kinda sounds like the factory is some kind of weird corruption of Mekhane. Think about it, all the machine references, saying that living things are part of the machine, it's all about productivity and seeing the "End Goal" or "Logical *Conclusion"* of industry. I mean, look at SCP-001/SCP-048 "A Good Boy", it tried to reach it's end goal too". But it also has themes of rust, and flesh. A lot of pig flesh too. It's like someone tried to stuff Yoldaboth and Mekhane together in one thing. It spreads across realities like a virus according to the serpents hand. So.... What if actually *is* a virus?

I believe SCP 1461 (the house of the worm) might be heavily related to the factory. There's that warehouse full of crates branded "factory deliveries." Coincidence?
The Factory has felt a lot like a much older era of the SCP wiki, that doesn't really seem to have made it into the modern era.
It was an interesting and well written piece. Whereas current stories are obsessed with meta-related topics and other easy, overdone tropes that the site once frowned upon for those exact reasons.
In my opinion it was a far better time with far better writing and some of the Flop that's turned out now the first 4003s were absolute gold after that I haven't found much that isn't just a random story or fantastic tale more than it is a scientific breakdown of an anomaly

This is my favorite SCP. My head canon tells me that this is Foundation, since it has rooms that contain SCPs. I like to think the Factory was built in the Spiral Path which also produces SCPs. The big bad in my head canon is the Scarlet King and the rituals used was to combat him.

I presume that [EXPUNGED] event in the Daycare was one of the kids sharpening the pencil too much and either getting someone stabbed or the daycare getting some fire problems. Kids tend to.... Overdo sharpening
And the Rust also might be an affliction caused by being connected to The Factory. If Wondertainmemt (family or person) originates from there then he might had the Rust implanted in him as a method to keep him, and other workers, in the factory. The Rust might have been dormant up until he escaped.

I LOVE THE FACTORY it's my fave 001 idea yay.
From what i can tell The Factory is Anderson now he has merged with HIS Factory and became its heart and mind and Soul he want's his creation's every where to spread his corruption to the point where it will trigger an XK End of the World scenario forcing The Foundation to use Anderson's help to stop it forcing The Council to make a new deal.
Anderson will help save the world in exchange for HALF THE PLANET for his experiments-creations and entertainment and The Council would have to make the deal half The World is better then none but that's just my Theory on it.

I like to listen to then first thing when I wake up since they come out in the middle of the night for me.
The high Hume level of the rifles were probably to be used against reality warping entities such as Dr. Wondertainment, to then take their body parts to make objects. Especially since a lot of Factory products require human parts.
I recall a series of tales. They involve the Factory, the Fae, Dr. (Isabel) Wondertainment , Manny from Herman Fuller's Circus and Iris Dark. In those stories he Factory is multidimensional and is run by a brother Dark (as in Marshal Cater & Dark). In the end the "core" of the Factory gets wrecked and the brother killed (with the help of Dr. Wondertainment). It was a strange mix of canons. sm
I love the fact that The factory furnace is in Control.
This one is one of the better 001 proposals. Although it's not my favorite. It offers too much explanatory power and gives a concise answer to the origin of the foundation. That should be left more ambiguous I think.

Awesome video as always! Though I will say one thing, I’m not sure the factory is preparing for some great bit war against a mysterious enemy, I think they are just using conflicts across the world as a source of profit.
Because in 1912, someone says “the overseer wants war” and then 2 years later, world war 1.
It’s also mentioned that Tokyo slept through the war, which was a shame since it would have been profitable. Presumably this is WW2, and they could have sold equipment to the Japanese empire. In that situation It does not appear like the factory is greatly concerned with who wins, just that they earn profit.
So I don’t think there is some great, mysterious conflict coming. I think they are just using conflicts that take place as an excuse to profit off what’s happening.

Having read the factory's 001 proposal as my first one almost a decade ago, it still is one of my favorite things about the wiki, and one I'm fascinated by. SCP-4000 also happens to be one of my fav SCP's because it ties back to this origin, long ago, of most of the anomalies that made the foundation what it is now.

"the US and several countries with poor labors laws" Not much a difference between the two, if at all. It's like saying "the white guy and several guys of European descent". kek
ANYway - that part with the pencil sharpeners seems like a fail - how often do kids try to sharpen using even twenty twists? SCP author should have reduced the number for that bit of "child harm" horror to work - IMO.
PS - I wish you had not included the "has nothing to do with factory group" scp (SCP-4511). The whole "we ripped a kid off the street and then cattle prodded him into the fire/pig.etc. where he likely died slowly and horribly" thing is kind of bullshit. It's the sort of "edgy" writing authors use because they are not talented enough to scare/horrify/etc. in any way that isn't grossly obvious ("no one likes it when kids are hurt, throw that in there!") - it rather teenage-edge-lord.
It's like the scene in Mr. Sleep where they torture the kid before killing him. I was not horrified in the way they wanted, and was ripped out of the experience and just stopped watching. That SCP was written by first-time authors, and it shows. Not just from that, the whole part where the team goes down at the end makes the team come off as amateurs - which is beyond the actual-canon of the site (for lack of a better way of putting) - but several other things also do this (like really - no one farther away keep tabs thought anything was off at any point prior to when they finally show up?).
PPS - also, the way authors responded to most criticism is rather telling - very much "well I am not changing MY story" sort of stuff. Amateur writing and amateur attitude - not help by the blind ass kissing most SCP articles need to get. What a wonderful combination, and now yet another reason not to join the community.

This makes me think the SCP foundation itself might be like this. Numbers that seem like they have meaning randomly placed in orders that don't care of when they are found. Containing everything slightly strange without reason. Maybe they are just the ame thing but two sides of it, one that creates and another that contains.

About 8 years I once had a desktop that I found near a trash bin on the side of the road. It was an old Sony Vaio, white in color. On the front of it was a sticker of a girl and underneath the girl the words "The Factory 101." Stylized like it was made with black and white spray paint. To say the least, I was a bit creeped out by this video when the stickers with 110% got brought up. Might have found a irl SCP.
The factory pig thing shows how evil the foundation is. Chaos is preferable to their structured immorality.
