I watched it again, in 4k, with my sister, it was her first time. I enjoyed soooo much, she didn't so much, but she liked it. I always cry on this song...
@darkonikolic2608 My husband and I actually did re-watch the whole series after I made this post, and it reminded me of how awesome it was yet also how sad it made me. I was always such a big Daenerys fan and wondered why they did her so wrong in the end, but binge watching the series made me realize how absolutely mad she actually was, those damned Targaryens! And poor John, he was just doomed from birth
This story is all about tragedy. Wherever and whenever you look in the books and series, people's lives are a tragedy of their own. For me, it's the deep message of the author, more than the question of war. This whole story just tells that everyone suffers and faces tragic events, decisions, actions, of their own or of someone else. A masterpiece which will mark our time and the 2010's, both the series and the books.
Megha Singh lol no, this may have actually been song by Rheagar for Lyanna and is based on his uncle (feel in love with a common girl and gave up his crown)
I don’t know if I’ll ever not cry to this song. So many memories, so many emotions, the show didn’t end how I hoped but it was a hell of a journey. Ned, Daenerys, Lyanna, Rhaegar, Robb, Margery, Jamie and many others deserved so much better than they got. I guess I’ll always dance with their ghosts.
I wish I'd met you at summer camp. The way your mind works is just lovely. Thank You for sharing as I too find myself wanting to cry over this. People may laugh if they choose but I simply cannot help it.
I really hope House of the Dragon will bring back that feeling of early Game of Thrones seasons. I read Fire and Blood and the story is truly magnificent. Honour, death, love and family and every other aspect GOT made impeccable.
Respectfully, Ser, there is no story to Fire and Blood, its just a history. No dialogue, no POV characters, just a second hand recount of the fall of the Targs. If anyone on here thinks that's going to be akin to the first 4 seasons of GOT, then they surely haven't been paying attention....
@@jamien134 Respectfully, although there is no dialogue in the book there will be in the show and there is an possibility to bring back that early GOT feeling because dance with dragons is "game of thrones". If book is no story and just a history then they could just make an 10 episode documentary about the Targaryens. Looks like you haven't been paying attention.
Respectfully, I'm really curious and looking forward to how House of the Dragon will be in the future. But as a Fire and Blood reader, I know there are going to be a few elements missing in the HBO adaptation. The reason being is: the show doesn't start from the very beginning of Fire and Blood. From the trailers I've watched, HBO starts House of the Dragon's story from the Dance of Dragons (the Targaryen civil war that killed all their dragons). Well......all in all, whatever the shows gonna be in the future, I'll still watch it regardless of where it starts and give my opinion about it objectively. But that begs the question, though: If HBO is going to make a Game of Thrones sequel about the Targaryen house, why not start House of the Dragon (HOTD) from the very beginning? Why not start it from Aegon the Conqueror himself and his Conquest? I mean......don't get me wrong.......Dance of Dragons is a pretty good story in itself. Personally, I like it. The story about a family being split into two, they fight each other nonstop for years, etc. It was a hell of a rollercoaster ride for me. I almost cried when Rhaenyra died in the end of the Dance. Really though, never thought I'd get emotional reading about a family feud that involves nations, wars, and dragons. Back to topic, as a Fire and Blood reader, I feel that there are also many things that make the Targaryen history interesting rather than only the Dance of Dragons. Aegon's Conquest; Aenys I and Maegor the Cruel's civil war (this is really tragic); King Jaeherys I's rule (my favorite Targaryen king after Aegon I); King Viserys I's rule and the evens prior to Dance of the Dragons. Those are some events that transpired before Dance of the Dragons that have been written in Fire and Blood. And in my honest opinion, those events may be underrated compared to Dance of Dragons (sans Aegon's Conquest), but all of them have huge impacts in the Targaryen family. Overall, just like I said, I don't really mind if HBO wants to start HOTD with Dance of Dragons. It's their show, not mine. I'm just a diehard house Targaryen fan with a question and trying to point out that there are many more tragic and impactful events that transpired before the Dance of Dragons. I just hope HOTD won't stray to far from the Fire and Blood book int terms of storyline. And hopefully, in the near distant future, there will be HOTD season 2 or something of the sort, and they adapt the many events before Dance of Dragons.
A decade, a decade of GOT. I almost feel similar to how I felt before my dad died, I'm just not ready. This show has made me feel emotions I've never had evoked from watching a show on TV. This whole season has felt like a Disney movie so far not just because of the lack of violence thus far just the way it's been directed feels completely different
Lmfao as long as they dont kill him, Arya, or Tyrion off I'll be fine (I mean I'll be upset if they kill off Brienne, Tormund, Theon, Sam, the Hound, or a few others I like I just will get over it but if they kill off those top three Im gunna quite watching XD ok not really but I will want to lmao)

As a Florence & The Machine fan I’m just discovering this astounding lament, it’s incredible such as Florence’s voice. She takes you on such a journey, of escapism with her magnificent voice...😥💫
That is GoT. With this song, it says goodbye. Goodbye to the things we knew and the characters we've been rooting for all these years. It is a way of making us realise this is the end. In a beatiful way. Thank you GoT.
This is exactly what the song represents. Not for the battles or the deaths. But the conclusion of 8 years of tears, laughs, suspense, love, torture, beauty, and memories. Thank you Game of Thrones.
Jack Murphy Actor right? All my fave characters have made it this far but I know they won’t be here long. The only one I know will live is Arya since George always said it was his and his wife’s fave and he won’t kill her off
@@AlasEtéreas he had to. To fool one's enemies, one needs to fool loved one's first. Also, by not telling her he protected her as well. Should she have known, in case of her being captured, enemies of house Stark could have tortured her to gain knowledge about Jon's true identity. Ned couldn't have had let that happen.
naphaneal I also think Ned probably knew that if he told Catelyn the truth, she might some day let it slip because of her desire to make it known she was not a cuckolded wife and that Ned was faithful to her, even by accident. So he couldn’t risk it. All in all, there were several reasons to stay silent
@@Cardiebee123 seriously? "Cleganebowl" was one of the most pointless bits of fanwank ever. The hound's death by fire was just one more check in a box that fit into the surrounding narrative about as naturally as a pickle in an ice cream sandwich.
TV4Fun2 completely agree just the scene on its own was well written only the hound vs mountain though the queens guard and the hands death was just stupid
Felt like some sort of a homage to the characters. Plenty are going to die next episode, it's going to be horrifying and emotional but still exciting. The Night's King is probably going to kill everyone in the crypt and raise them along with the already dead. If Jon had to meet his mother as a zombie... Jesus.

As a book reader, I'm so glad they included Jenny's song. Her and the Prince of Dragonflies had one of the most tragic romances in Westeros. This song is a fitting tribute
Also, like a lot of Thrones lore, it can be pieced together from a number of sources (including the World of Ice and Fire). Prince Duncan (the Prince of Dragonflies) was the heir to the throne and set aside his claim in order to marry Jenny of Oldstones, a commoner. This song refers to the Tragedy at Summerhall, where King Aegon V, Ser Duncan the Tall, and the Prince of Dragonflies died in flames. Additionally, many of the wiki sites about Thrones lore are very informative
its 2022 Oct, still get goosebumps listening to this masterpiece. GOT will forever , i mean forever be my favorite TV series. even HOTD is good. but GOT was so strongly written , portrayed. i love every inch of this series, no matter the ending . i miss you Game Of Thrones.
We all are Jenny of Oldstones. When the series ends, in our minds we will keep dancing with the characters between the ruins of Winterfell and King's Landing, because we will never want to leave.
This video having comments with so many likes in such a short time only confirms how big the fandom is and the legacy that the show left. GOT, you will always be famous.
The scene where Arya is shown, she really just stopped being a little girl the moment she saw her father being executed and she spent the rest of her life with the ghosts of people who loved her the most and the ones she loved the most, Ned, Cat, Robb, Lady, Mycah, Jory and everyone who was murdered. And Jon realizing that so many people died, most importantly his mom died giving birth to him, his uncle died being wrongfully accused, all he ever did was protect his nephew and his father was killed by Robert Baratheon because he loved his mother. The song is about every person's loss, they all lost their loved ones because of stupid reasons. 💔
@@joshuakyalo9645 Casual watchers just want dragons and boobs, forgetting that what made the show great in the first place was the dialogue and the characters interacting and walking through the woods. So of course they found this episode slow. People always find something to complain about. Episode 3 is gonna be just one giant battle, but still they will complain after episode 4 because it will be slower.
@@NateThe_Great24 It still blows my mind that they actually think being in the crypt is safe. They surely won't be slaughtered by the resurrected Stark skeletons... Other than that, if they lose the battle or they need to retreat to Pyke, they will be utterly fucked in the crypts anyway, even if the night king decides to not raise the dead for whatever reason. In that case either the army will break into the crypts or they will starve to death.
More than three years later and this still brings tears to my eyes. It's good to be back in the ASOIAF world. Hopefully House of the Dragon reaches the heights Game of Thrones did. yep i really liked that it showed the human side of everyone. The characters sitting around the fire talking about the past and brienne becoming a knight was really beautiful and well executed. Although there isn't really so much happening in this episode it's one of my favourite.
It aint their last night it will just be a long night that they will have to survive
That's exactly what I think !!
Ep2 was one of the best episodes of them all. And the first really good episode after they surpassed the books...
This whole season has felt like a Disney movie so far not just because of the lack of violence thus far just the way it's been directed feels completely different

the saddest thing is that catelyn will never know jon is not
a Ned's bastard son.
She was such a bitch about it, so its ok
Yeah Ned was wrong by keeping secrets within his own family. Ultimately that secret caused a lot of hurt both for Cat and Jon.
Well, in the books she's not dead...
Always remember this show. No other could ever match it. The best for ever and ever.

Felt like some sort of a homage to the characters. Plenty are going to die next episode, it's going to be horrifying and emotional but still exciting. The Night's King is probably going to kill everyone in the crypt and raise them along with the already dead. If Jon had to meet his mother as a zombie... Jesus.

@@sifisflisk7408 A Storm of Swords... Arya chapter in High Heart...

Great nod to lotr return of the king pippins song.
