You'll either get caught or miss your chance for the right moment to kill. But I just really don't want Ayano being left out. Girl needs to eat to ya know. Good choice with the Gaming club, as AR Games are really popular right now. This makes sense, and makes them a viable obstacle. But to balance, they should leave school early to rush to the Arcade before it gets crowded. You can also have some fun reference side chat from them like: "I liked Blundertail, it had such a great story. Especially with the 3 choices.", "Hey, check out this indie Game! It's called Tsundere Sim. I can't wait to play it!", And "Did you watch the Haloid Match last night? Red crushed Blue so Hard!"

Didn’t you guys watched his previous videos? He did say that he wanted to focus solely on completing the school and obstacle before adding rivals. I know it’s been 4 years. Even I am not that patient anymore. But throwing so much shade on him right after he opened the comment section and promoting other *game* here? That’s disrespectful. This shows that he’s trying to open up to us again, yet this is how you guys reacted to this? Why are you guys trying so hard to bring him even more down? He could be having personal problems, that’s why he’s slow on making progress. In the past, whenever something came up, he would always told us through his videos. Now, he rarely does that. Considering the amount of mechanics and locations the player has to know, it'd be a good idea to give us a free week to just... kinda live in the school? Basically a free week to walk around, build relationships with the students, level up stats by going to class and so on.
I don't know about the confessing early part, since the rivals who appear after whenever you confess would really have no purpose. However, I do think that actually building a relationship with Senpai makes sense.
To all the people saying "the game is becoming way too hard on week 1..." Dev said that balancing will take place after all the core mechanics are in place. It will become more feasible. Don't worry. And too the people complaining that Osana is still not finished... She is. But if she were to be put in the game at this stage, she wouldn't be very good. Have some patience.

Uh, a thought popped into my mind : imagine the finished game. After each rival is introduced, you only have ONE WEEK to take care of them. I know you're aiming for a hard game, but it should be at the very least feasible (even if ridiculously hard) to beat a rival on the first try, or at the very least that you don't need to loose at least once to know a threat. What I mean is, the game might not be instinctive enough. I've had a similar worry in the past, regarding the matchmaking elimination. If I recall correctly, to succeed a matchmaking, you need to have a meeting between the rival and the stundent that pines for her every day of the week, with all buffs. Meaning you need to find the student, find what the rival likes, and organize everything in only a day. While I'm sure that's feasible when you're used to the game, for Osana, a player would be new at this. You have to consider the possibility that not all players know all methods or will check a wiki to know how to do it. Of course, you mentionned adding a tutorial, but if you choose to do so, it needs to be very precise : new players have to understand what they're going up against and the level of planning that's required to do anything.
No you don’t have to finish it in one week. There are separate weeks for each rival. On one of his videos he said he would put a cutscene (if you eliminate Osana) of Info-Chan texting you saying another girl was going to arrive the next week. Which means that this will obviously happen every time, sorry if I wasted your time ._____.
The difficulty of the demo doesn't reflect the difficulty of the final game. The final game will be designed to "ease" the player into the mechanics. I'll create an example using matchmaking: To succeed at eliminating Osana, you just need to arrange 1 meeting. The 5th rival requires 5 meetings. The 6th rival requires 5 meetings and at least one buff. The 10th rival requires 5 meetings with all buffs on each meeting. It won't work *exactly* like that, but it'll be something similar.
There’s not only killing. He’s already showed pretty much how you would make sure Senpai would say no to Osana and he has given hints on how if everyone around Senpai is getting hurt (that he’s gotten close with, especially his sister) he would take drastic measures to stop that person. There’s also matchmaking and mind slaving a student. He’s not going to make it impossible, but that he could easily get rid of her.
Zan20 i think the time limit is what would keep the player on the edge of their seat. If you remove the time limit, the player doesnt need to really feel the need to stay focused on the core game. I think a week is just fine
All of the clubs, all of the students, everything he’s adding is making the game more realistic. Irl do you really think you could get away with murder that easily? Especially in a school filled with tons of students? This is suppose to be a hard game, its suppose to have to make you strategize, think, and plan. That’s why you have a week to achieve your goal. Just because it’s the first rival doesn’t mean you get to fart around and mess up but still win, it’s an intro into the game. You can explore while still actually playing the game. What about murdering a student behind the blossom tree? (where osana is going to confess her love) your never said who goes around there, so it will be easy to murder the rivals without getting caught. I suggest maybe the drama club go there and act like they are confessing their love because of the dramatic background , the phone addicts who play the virtual reality game go there to fight the monsters , a gardening club member can water or fertilize the tree, or maybe all of the above!

I think it would be cool if there were a representation of disabled people for example a blind person that can't see yandere-chans actions but is able to hear a lot better than her fellow students, so she would be able to notice yandere-chan from a more far distance than the others but wouldn't see her dragging a body in front of her, and she could have a special alarm system for when she needs help and use it when she hears screams. This system could draw nearby people to her or just alarm teachers right away. It's just a idea that crossed my mind :D

Guys, don't act like you would like a game too easy, when it's hard, we like it, when it's too hard, we love it (and feel proud when we finish it), I think it's challenging + Ayano is a highschool girl and in a school there are many students and don't forget what the Dev said: «getting away with a murder isn't supposed to be easy»
Although that is true that getting away with murder isn’t going to be easy and by far the most reasonable logic, this is preparation for the first rival and will continue to get increasingly difficult for future rivals. I believe this is just the beginning as Yandere Dev is attempting to make a decent lore, meaning he’s setting up a inclining plot as you’d find in anime, so your standards and expectations for difficult might need to be altered a bit, no a lot.
imo, the AR game should be introduced slowly. maybe the first week is just the gaming club gossiping about a new game coming out, the second through fourth week is the highest level of activity- where they'll go after EVERY monster, and then for the rest, they slowly lose interest and taper off

Around the middle of the video I had the fear that there could be too many students so that there won't be any empty room or place at any time, but as you show the character chart I don't think that will be a problem
Every NPC in a stealth game is a walking security camera who will react negatively to you if they see you doing something bad. That's how all stealth games work.

Don't you think it's strange, that the latest trend in yan sim is glasses with slicked back brushed hair. I mean with the gaming nerd guy i understand there's not much we can do but with that kokona's stalker, he actually looked better previously and seriously, i feel that the gals in that game should go for better fashion trends. Ugh, for the first time I think ever....Im not happy about an announced change or feature. Having to pull out your phone to check for invisible "monsters" any time you want to do something shady seems like a huge PITA and way too easy to forget about. I don't want to have to pull out my phone constantly to check for a thing that may or may not be there and may or may not cause problems. That just sounds hugely annoying.
Fair point. It's possible that there might be a "monster nearby" icon that appears on the game's HUD without the player having to take out their phone.

I dont exactly see what you mean? Do you mean hes making more paths detailed or more interesting so people will do those? If so i have to disagree, especially since after Osana we will have no idea whats going on with the other rivals. And from hes shown, all of the ways hes shown have been interesting enough to do any. I dont see why it wouldnt be "do what you want".
I don't think all of these things will be this hard the first week but they're all out here because the debug test so we can test them at its hardest difficulty to see whether it's difficult enough or not it's basically playing it at the max setting until there's a demo

A cool idea would be that each week, each club's schedual would change slightly. So some weeks, certain clubs won't go to certain places that they went to during previous weeks. Like the acting club could practice some scenes under the cherry tree or in the garden. And the cooking club could do a bake sale one week in the gym where it will be filled with tables and different assortment of foods. During lunch and maybe after cleaning time, a lot of the school population could head there. They could put this into the game maybe when Amai the cooking club leader's week comes around so she is almost always around people talking about what types of food to cook and maybe even sitting and thinking of what food Senpai will enjoy so she would go on her own little mission of figuring out what food to cook for him.
Im kind of sad how difficult this game is getting, yandere Dev said the first rival it will be the easiest to kill off and as you go through the game the rivals will get harder and harder and harder to kill, I see right now with all the implementations that he's been doing lately that the first rival might be too hard for most people. My current priority is to develop a demo that shows off the general experience of playing the game. The game's demo should be interesting and challenging. So, in the demo, the first rival (Osana) will be moderately difficult. But, in the final game, Osana will be the easiest rival, and every other rival will get progressively harder than the previous one. In other words, the game's current level of difficulty (as a debug sandbox for testing features) doesn't reflect how difficult the final game is actually going to be.

The challenge will make it fun. Besides, this is if you plan on killing your rivals. There are other ways to eliminate them in other fun ways like sabotage, suitors, or expulsion
I feel like the game is becomming harder and harder while not making it much more interesting. I feel like if the game would have a longer period of time (days) for eliminating your rival. So that you'd have time to learn about possible threaths (like the movement of clubs) before it actually comes to commiting murder or social sabotage. But that idea is basically like saying "spend more time and money it would be better" which is not always possible, or smart, I get that. This is merely a suggestion, nothing more, nothing less

I agree like maybe instead of 1 week it could be 2 weeks or one month and the down time after killing the rival could be used to improve stats similar to the downtime in Persona 5. It could make the player's job easier while opening more windows of creativity in the certain changes throughout the week like what you've mentioned
Haichi - I think the idea is less "making sure there are not witnesses" and more "making an area your own." Rather than focusing on every witness in the entire school, maybe the player is supposed to only focus on who comes in the gym for example. It's just a guess though and does still include some trail and error.

All these people talking about how it's been taking 4 years and how he is ignoring the basics. First, it's been taking 4 years because he started building the game 4 years ago. Many developers don't announce their game as soon as they start developing. Second, the mechanics are the basics, student behaviors ARE a thing in the real world (shocking, I know). These are added to make the game challenging and make you think. That's why he's been taking the time to do these things instead of mouth animations as he wants someone more professionally to do those things.
Tbh I know this is a kinda unpopular opinion in the TH-cam community, but I feel bad for all this criticism Yandere Dev is getting for this game. The code may be jumbled and stuff, but all that matters is that the game works and looks good, which the game does. Instead of saying that Yandere Dev sucks and his game sucks, provide thoughtful criticism to help him improve his flaws. Just lay it off him and let him make a game that some people like.

Just wanted to say I'm really glad you weren't too discouraged after the recent rabid bandwagon when everyone found out you're -some kind of monster of a con artist- an actual human being as opposed to a perfect one-man game making factory. Appreciate you dude.
TsuBAKA rua the problem being it's not in all in the past. He is still disingenuous about how much time he spends working on the game and spends his time not very efficiently. His code is slowing the game down to a point in which it's not realistic that most pcs can run it smoothly not to mention bugs. him not having notes about what his code does. Him implementing every minor detail before Osana's release which isn't necessary. He also has close to no respect for the community (take a look at him murdering Midori who represents the community asking pretty legitimate questions). And this is not all. There is more to be critical of. I suggest doing some research on the guy. The most in detail video about yanderedev himself is a 2 hour long video about all of his internet history named something like the fall of yanderedev (less recommendable if you are underaged and or don't want to hear about some "adult" content), or kappa kaijus video which is mostly going into the same things I just went into but with more detailed examples. I do want to see this game finished but it's probably for the better if the person behind it changes for the better. Such as getting an actual programming education

Actually, Yandere Dev said that the current builds are not representative of the final game, the final game will have scaling difficulty depending on which rival you're facing.
You have 2 overpowered abilities you can use when playing games 1 is your brain. Observe your enemies for their routines and weak spots, learn from your previous mistakes and then act when you feel you have the ultimate plan ready. Also useful for searching any tutorials on youtube, except for dwarf fortress as that game is so difficult you actually need a tutorial for stairs, and even then you most likely won't remember shit when actually playing 2 is in nearly every game, the restart button. Most have save and load function, which you can use with your brain to fix your mistakes, and when you fail, just reload the latest save and you're good to go.

He removed Oka, yes. She was just a regular club leader, a normal npc, until today. Oka has to be a rival, so I'm thinking he removed her to change her AI completely. She's a 4th rival, so we won't see her for some time... On the other side, things don't look as colorful with the Rainbow boys and girls. Unless Yandere Dev fixes his framerate problems, they aren't coming back. Not only because, let's face it, they were just "there", useless, but also because the game already has like 100 NPC's in it, so it's at it's limit pretty much. So yes, those are some unfortunate technical limitations and restrictions with which we have to cope.
Osana will have a sister that is who the obstacle will be.We know this becaue Yan Dev showed a diagram of Osanas house and it had sisters room upstairs
it would be a good idea to the cooking club offer you food, you can either choose yes or no, choosing yes will make you accept and eat the food, it will take 5 seconds, distracting and wasting your time, if choosing no/rejecting the food, you'll lose 2 reputation/or more.
A bit random, but as a swimmer, I was a bit disappointed that Yan dev got the order of events wrong. Usually, you change into swimwear, practice separately or in groups; you don't just swim the entire time, and THEN do stretches/drylands.
Shouldn't be too difficult to change if need be, but I would prioritise balance of time windows over correct order. They could just be a bad swimming club if it stays :3
I know rightttttttttt as a swimmer it does seem off also there are types of practices and it isn’t uniformed like that. You have sets to complete and some of them are stroke specific. I feel you I was kinda disappointed. It would be a nice touch or a cool little programming thing if he made it so it looks more like they are completing sets and swimming at different paces along with dry land exercises
Hey, all of ya keep saying that the game will be too hard and stuff. and how about you acually try to kill someone BEFORE the release? Distracting people is a powerful tool and you don't actually need to memorize everything to find a spot where students are rarely at. and what if you kill a bunch of non-rivals and clear your way to a single spot in the game. The game HAS TO have many people going around the place or it would be too broken to be fun in the long run. like, Y Dev might be talkig about making the game more difficult, but fricking hell, do consider why he does that before saying that it's wrong
It feels like there’s a lot of unnecessary obstacles constantly being added…maybe have only some of these clubs or features active at the beginning. Save having them all out and about until at least the second half of the game

Why are you guys trying so hard to bring him even more down? He could be having personal problems, that’s why he’s slow on making progress. In the past, whenever something came up, he would always told us through his videos. Now, he rarely does that. I feel like if he posted a video about him not being able to make some progress to the game, some salty people will say that he’s making excuses. That’s not right.

Considering the amount of mechanics and locations the player has to know, it'd be a good idea to give us a free week to just... kinda live in the school? Basically a free week to walk around, build relationships with the students, level up stats by going to class and so on.

I don't know about the confessing early part, since the rivals who appear after whenever you confess would really have no purpose. However, I do think that actually building a relationship with Senpai makes sense.

Uh, a thought popped into my mind : imagine the finished game. After each rival is introduced, you only have ONE WEEK to take care of them. I know you're aiming for a hard game, but it should be at the very least feasible (even if ridiculously hard) to beat a rival on the first try, or at the very least that you don't need to loose at least once to know a threat. What I mean is, the game might not be instinctive enough.
I've had a similar worry in the past, regarding the matchmaking elimination. If I recall correctly, to succeed a matchmaking, you need to have a meeting between the rival and the stundent that pines for her every day of the week, with all buffs. Meaning you need to find the student, find what the rival likes, and organize everything in only a day. While I'm sure that's feasible when you're used to the game, for Osana, a player would be new at this. You have to consider the possibility that not all players know all methods or will check a wiki to know how to do it.
Of course, you mentionned adding a tutorial, but if you choose to do so, it needs to be very precise : new players have to understand what they're going up against and the level of planning that's required to do anything.
No you don’t have to finish it in one week. There are separate weeks for each rival. On one of his videos he said he would put a cutscene (if you eliminate Osana) of Info-Chan texting you saying another girl was going to arrive the next week. Which means that this will obviously happen every time, sorry if I wasted your time ._____.
The difficulty of the demo doesn't reflect the difficulty of the final game. The final game will be designed to "ease" the player into the mechanics. I'll create an example using matchmaking:
To succeed at eliminating Osana, you just need to arrange 1 meeting. The 5th rival requires 5 meetings. The 6th rival requires 5 meetings and at least one buff. The 10th rival requires 5 meetings with all buffs on each meeting.
It won't work *exactly* like that, but it'll be something similar.
There’s not only killing. He’s already showed pretty much how you would make sure Senpai would say no to Osana and he has given hints on how if everyone around Senpai is getting hurt (that he’s gotten close with, especially his sister) he would take drastic measures to stop that person. There’s also matchmaking and mind slaving a student. He’s not going to make it impossible, but that he could easily get rid of her.
Zan20 i think the time limit is what would keep the player on the edge of their seat. If you remove the time limit, the player doesnt need to really feel the need to stay focused on the core game. I think a week is just fine

Just because it’s the first rival doesn’t mean you get to fart around and mess up but still win, it’s an intro into the game. You can explore while still actually playing the game. I’m so sick and tired of arrogant people saying rude things about him, like he doesn’t even know how to make a rival or he’s lazy. If it was suppose to be an easy game it would’ve taken this long to complete.

I think it would be cool if there were a representation of disabled people for example a blind person that can't see yandere-chans actions but is able to hear a lot better than her fellow students, so she would be able to notice yandere-chan from a more far distance than the others but wouldn't see her dragging a body in front of her, and she could have a special alarm system for when she needs help and use it when she hears screams. This system could draw nearby people to her or just alarm teachers right away. It's just a idea that crossed my mind :D

Although that is true that getting away with murder isn’t going to be easy and by far the most reasonable logic, this is preparation for the first rival and will continue to get increasingly difficult for future rivals. I believe this is just the beginning as Yandere Dev is attempting to make a decent lore, meaning he’s setting up a inclining plot as you’d find in anime, so your standards and expectations for difficult might need to be altered a bit, no a lot.

Ugh, for the first time I think ever....Im not happy about an announced change or feature. Having to pull out your phone to check for invisible "monsters" any time you want to do something shady seems like a huge PITA and way too easy to forget about. I don't want to have to pull out my phone constantly to check for a thing that may or may not be there and may or may not cause problems. That just sounds hugely annoying.

I don't think all of these things will be this hard the first week but they're all out here because the debug test so we can test them at its hardest difficulty to see whether it's difficult enough or not it's basically playing it at the max setting until there's a demo

The final game is gonna be buttfuckingly difficult. But that being said I love a challenge.
A cool idea would be that each week, each club's schedual would change slightly. So some weeks, certain clubs won't go to certain places that they went to during previous weeks. Like the acting club could practice some scenes under the cherry tree or in the garden. And the cooking club could do a bake sale one week in the gym where it will be filled with tables and different assortment of foods. During lunch and maybe after cleaning time, a lot of the school population could head there. They could put this into the game maybe when Amai the cooking club leader's week comes around so she is almost always around people talking about what types of food to cook and maybe even sitting and thinking of what food Senpai will enjoy so she would go on her own little mission of figuring out what food to cook for him.

My current priority is to develop a demo that shows off the general experience of playing the game. The game's demo should be interesting and challenging. So, in the demo, the first rival (Osana) will be moderately difficult. But, in the final game, Osana will be the easiest rival, and every other rival will get progressively harder than the previous one. In other words, the game's current level of difficulty (as a debug sandbox for testing features) doesn't reflect how difficult the final game is actually going to be.

I feel like the game is becomming harder and harder while not making it much more interesting. I feel like if the game would have a longer period of time (days) for eliminating your rival. So that you'd have time to learn about possible threaths (like the movement of clubs) before it actually comes to commiting murder or social sabotage. But that idea is basically like saying "spend more time and money it would be better" which is not always possible, or smart, I get that. This is merely a suggestion, nothing more, nothing less
Totally agree on this. A game can be challenging, but too much difficulty makes it unplayable and not fun at all.
Haichi Bruh, it's a stealth game, of course it's going to be really hard, but yeah, Yan Dev should keep in mind that Osana is the first rival, and shouldn't be super hard.

I agree like maybe instead of 1 week it could be 2 weeks or one month and the down time after killing the rival could be used to improve stats similar to the downtime in Persona 5. It could make the player's job easier while opening more windows of creativity in the certain changes throughout the week like what you've mentioned
Haichi - I think the idea is less "making sure there are not witnesses" and more "making an area your own." Rather than focusing on every witness in the entire school, maybe the player is supposed to only focus on who comes in the gym for example.
It's just a guess though and does still include some trail and error.
I miss the rainbow twelve, one of my favorite characters was in it, I hope you add them again sometime in the future.
(And also if you don't want to add them back into the main game can you add a cheat code to make them appear in the school?)

Many developers don't announce their game as soon as they start developing. Second, the mechanics are the basics, student behaviors ARE a thing in the real world (shocking, I know). These are added to make the game challenging and make you think. That's why he's been taking the time to do these things instead of mouth animations as he wants someone more professionally to do those things.

The code may be jumbled and stuff, but all that matters is that the game works and looks good, which the game does. Instead of saying that Yandere Dev sucks and his game sucks, provide thoughtful criticism to help him improve his flaws. Just lay it off him and let him make a game that some people like.

Surprisingly I didn't start losing my shit and foaming at the mouth when a couple people said "hay guise did you know Yandere Dev isn't perfect?"
TsuBAKA rua the problem being it's not in all in the past. He is still disingenuous about how much time he spends working on the game and spends his time not very efficiently. His code is slowing the game down to a point in which it's not realistic that most pcs can run it smoothly not to mention bugs. him not having notes about what his code does. Him implementing every minor detail before Osana's release which isn't necessary. He also has close to no respect for the community (take a look at him murdering Midori who represents the community asking pretty legitimate questions). And this is not all. There is more to be critical of.
I suggest doing some research on the guy. The most in detail video about yanderedev himself is a 2 hour long video about all of his internet history named something like the fall of yanderedev (less recommendable if you are underaged and or don't want to hear about some "adult" content), or kappa kaijus video which is mostly going into the same things I just went into but with more detailed examples.
I do want to see this game finished but it's probably for the better if the person behind it changes for the better. Such as getting an actual programming education

You have 2 overpowered abilities you can use when playing games
1 is your brain. Observe your enemies for their routines and weak spots, learn from your previous mistakes and then act when you feel you have the ultimate plan ready. Also useful for searching any tutorials on youtube, except for dwarf fortress as that game is so difficult you actually need a tutorial for stairs, and even then you most likely won't remember shit when actually playing
2 is in nearly every game, the restart button. Most have save and load function, which you can use with your brain to fix your mistakes, and when you fail, just reload the latest save and you're good to go.

He removed Oka, yes. She was just a regular club leader, a normal npc, until today. Oka has to be a rival, so I'm thinking he removed her to change her AI completely. She's a 4th rival, so we won't see her for some time...
On the other side, things don't look as colorful with the Rainbow boys and girls. Unless Yandere Dev fixes his framerate problems, they aren't coming back. Not only because, let's face it, they were just "there", useless, but also because the game already has like 100 NPC's in it, so it's at it's limit pretty much. So yes, those are some unfortunate technical limitations and restrictions with which we have to cope.

A bit random, but as a swimmer, I was a bit disappointed that Yan dev got the order of events wrong. Usually, you change into swimwear, practice separately or in groups; you don't just swim the entire time, and THEN do stretches/drylands.

I know rightttttttttt as a swimmer it does seem off also there are types of practices and it isn’t uniformed like that. You have sets to complete and some of them are stroke specific. I feel you I was kinda disappointed. It would be a nice touch or a cool little programming thing if he made it so it looks more like they are completing sets and swimming at different paces along with dry land exercises

It feels like there’s a lot of unnecessary obstacles constantly being added…maybe have only some of these clubs or features active at the beginning. Save having them all out and about until at least the second half of the game
