Good and honest feedback. Hopefully BSG will be receptive to at least some of the ideas. I'd say the the biggest issue regarding the the third suggestion (simplification of health system) comes down to the problem of practicality. BSG doesn't intend for Arena to be isolated from the base game, but keep them interacted so you can transfer skills and gear in between. Allowing that between two game modes with distinct and unique mechanics for guns, health, and movement can be problematic in terms of intra-game balancing and equity. Sadly. This kind of content will have the opposite effect. BSG consistently and fundamentally opposes the universally accepted solution to any one of their problems historically. The fact that this video is so high quality and suggests a certain win as a change. Means it will never happen now. Oh well. Good video though.
This Roubles system needs to change, the fact I had been teamed up with some people in random to lose all my roubles to not be able to play the class that I spent the last 2 weeks grinding for is a big f you...
Arena just needs to be kept separate and have different mechanics compared to the base game, not to the point where ability doesnt translate over but enough to make them play differently. Im very worried that with arena mirroring the base game it will encourage the hyper agressive shift w players even more which will hurt the base game even more. Unfortunately seeing how EFT in general has developed over time its becoming more like a cod shooter with a higher mechanical system

I believe the game lacks variety... Some things are already set in stone like a long range one shot sniper weapon, close range but fast shotgun and things like that... They are like that FOR A REASON and BSG really needs to step up their game to make this work
I dont agree with the health change though, at all. They should just give everyone a PK effect by default at game start so you dont have to pop them every time
Honestly a reconnect button doesnt matter because if you get server timeout at beginning of the game and still reconnect during first round, the leavers penalty is automatically applied, meaning the match is cancelled everyone leaves and you get your rank and rubble penalty also a 5min cd from requeuing. Also about that cooldown, isn't this counterproductive? in this early version of the game where you want to maximize the experience a strict ranked mode makes no sense, SPECIALLY when you can teamkill at spawn with basically no repercussions, as i was killed 2 rounds in a row pre-round by a dumb teammate and he got to play his full rounds and i had to watch... Very thought out and insightful video. I think there needs to be a separation of Tarkov Arena for Esports from Everyday Arena. Something that may be good for a "Tournament" isn't necessarily good for the game as a whole. I do think your point on the gear customization would bring along the chance for teams to plan out more strategies for games and allow players the chance to be more in control of what they have on a match to match basis. This would pose 2 issues though, one being that would make the game more miserable for solo/duo players who do not have a full team to play with when they go up against well geared and well coordinated teams match after match. This will give them the feeling that they either have to go out a find a group of 5 to play with or suffer through solo queue, which ultimately will lead to either not having fun anymore or just quitting the game altogether. The second is with the cost of the customization and it being tied to ARP. Right now it is a grind to get ARP and Rubles because it is 100% tied to wins, while losses take away the same amount you get from a win. Running out of Rubles is very prevalent in the game right now and having to grind games on a free rating based kit until you can afford even a decent preset kit which you then have to hope you win that game or, it's back to the free classes. Then adding on top of that you now have to play the free classes against people who can customize the gear they are bringing in and possibly fight against a team that is geared to compliment each other and the map they are on. I am huge on being able to customize my kit on Tarkov, one of the biggest reasons I've played the game on and off since release, but it's hard to see a customization option working to increase the enjoyment of the game before there is even a working matchmaking system in place. And as far as medical, I think keeping the medical system in place is best for the game. The medical system adds to the intensity of the game, forces you to have to decide if you can push the enemy with a heavy bleed or if you need to reposition and heal before reengaging. Not having every med you could need is part of the Tarkov niche and requires you to scavenge or hope a teammate can help you out. Tarkov is meant to be a frustrating, intense, butt clenching and close to realistic FPS. It's not Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege or even Counter Strike and I hope it never gets close to them. The game isn't meant for the same audience either. There have been times I've slowly limped towards the objective with my guy moaning in pain and lose the round right as I round the corner, and it was infuriating, but not in a bad way. In the classic Tarkov way where you are almost at the exfil and you have 3 blacked out limbs, food is gone, hydration is gone and the timer is almost out, but you are thick with loot. Then you die and lose everything. Or, you live and it was the most intense moment you've experienced in a game. Whether you live or die in that moment though, there is a very high chance you queue up that next raid and do it again because that's the experience Tarkov brings. I do really hope they implement your concept for how they resolve the issue with raiders coming in. That mechanic is bad for the game in all aspects due to the aggro being terrible. I've been apart of or seen many times where the raiders/boss aggro to one single person instead of pressuring both and it definitely rewards the coward who hides and heals constantly because they have all their meds from not leaving their corner for the entirety of the round. It also creates a balanced solution where each team has to make a decision on which box they want to attack/defend. This replaces a poor mechanic with a balanced one and keeps the intensity/decision making level of the game. I also think increasing the time limit depending on the map would help in reducing the amount of times a round even makes it to the flair situation. All in all I enjoyed the video and listening to your thoughts and inputs on the state of the game and what can help improve it and keep it viable and didn't mean for any of this to seem like I'm saying "No, you're wrong".
I keep seeing people say mixed things about arena but I literally don't trust either side until I play it, I just need it hands on before I take either side but I still don't have it. Kinda souring my mood when both of my days off work I can't even try it.
It looks like everyone is hyped now because they get to "unleash" and get intense firefights in tarkov without waiting for it to happen naturally during a raid. but this hype is going to fade and people will realize that this mode is very primitive. Feels like the game mode promotes a very fast paced run-and-gun approach rather than any kind of tactical gameplay that tarkov mechanics really lean into. the maps are also very boring. an SnD mode without the commentator and in more Tarkov like areas like parts of the regular maps (with some balance changes ofc) would be the best
I agree with changes to or additional game modes. I whole heartedly agree with changing the way gearing works for the classes etc. I do not agree whatsoever with the changes to bleeds/fractures/blacked out limbs. The game does a great way of modelling realistic injuries and debilitating effects of gunshot wounds. Arena does not need to be an uber fast paced twitch style game to be successful as an esport. Tactics come into play and watching a team execute strategies and working cover/suppressing fire/ overwatch for healing teamates, and that adds spectator value. Great players will stand out and attract fans sure, we see that all the time in professional sports, but decent players that form a great team will also attract fans. I think most competitive shooters do a horrible job of promoting teams and teamwork and just showcase a group of individuals who happen to be playing together and occasionally (if not rarely) make plays to support each other. I think the cleanup crew and the object system are honestly pretty good and it changes the common narrative. What you see as RNG or an anticlimatic ending seems like its because of a misunderstanding of what the mechanics are supposed to create, which is a constant pressure to push into gunfights and kill zones and not run around a back field or hold a cheeky angle for a long time in order to get cheap kills. I hear a lot of people complain about the objective system currently implemented and its always because those players dont want to play the objective to secure a win and simply want to achieve kills only. Sorry for the rant.
Arena is flawed in the fact that the idea was conceived before most of these issues existed. There was a time when bleeds didn't exist, when you ddint have to stop shooting and running to take meds, when you could pop a goldenstar or morphine and they would last for the majority of the start of your raids and engagements and the duration wasn't reduced at all when you got injured, meaning players were able to keep running when having blacked legs. These are all features that were removed from tarkov that players which Arena was made for wanted, so why aren't they removed from Arena? Why does the weight system, inertia, updated medical system and all of these realism-factored additions to tarkov exist in arena, when arena was supposedly being designed for the people who didn't want those to ruin their tarkov experience, which was a lot more fun to them before these implementations? If BSG really wants to give the community what they want, they'll do that. Why can't they make small maps? Like a dorms inspired map, like the inside of a hotel, or a mansion. Imagine a 8-10 player free for all in resort! Like, it's so fucking simple yet such an AMAZING idea, yet BSG would never fucking make it would they? That's all the players want, but BSG are either clueless or just don't care about the community and want to make something new their own way.
Yeah, I'm not sure why they want all the bloated mechanics from Tarkov to be a feature in Arena when Arena was supposed to be a fast paced esport. I like inertia and I'm used to it by now but everything I've mentioned doesn't need to be in Arena because people don't remember Tarkov for it's medical system and AI. Edit: also, they're planning on a Resort map as per the website.
I like a few of the ideas you put in here, i dont mind the presets as with building your own kits, it could become very min/max quickly.. but the current presets scale soo badly like you mentioned.. theres some standout kits that are just so much better than the other lines. As for gameplay personally i would just like to see a reduced chance of bleeds, and i think your character should always have the painkiller effect by default. It makes sense, your being thrown into an arena, your adrenaline would be pumping so hard. And from a gameplay point of view it wouldnt hinder movement and fix some of the issues you mentioned.. hell even make it like a propital with a slow HP Regen
I think they should just get rid of the money all together and let us unlock items and gear over time like in COD. If you have a negative win rate at all you basically are doomed to running out of money completely at some point and thats no fun at all.
All these points make sense. They all fil the gaps for a competitive game. I do feel like the ranking and kits should be for casual and ranked should have a turned based economy using Roubles. Keeping the Tarkov vibe you can buy different items from the trader Fence. Quickly buying things in a 20 second cooldown while you're starting up a new round. You can also pre-med and loud up attachments and other things. Depending on your kills, losing streak, win or headshot it could give more roubles.
Yeah, there definitely still needs to be some progression towards a goal when playing Arena. Otherwise it would be hard to keep people's interest. I like what you're saying though.
Clean up crew is good. just need to be done diferently..... aka- cancel posibility to outcamp someone ... even in tournament you could see that sometime both teams just trying to outcamp other team .... ( but yea they need to spawn more ''fair distance'' from both teams)
No no, the "clean up crew" is only in the game because the game mode doesn't force a team to make a move. Make a slight change to the game mode and you fix A LOT of issues very quickly.
I agree The game modes need to change. However, I don’t think the flare idea will end well. I don’t think the medical system will ever be an issue so long as all the loadouts have some combination of the appropriate meds. Loadouts I don’t think you’re an issue as they can be changed at the drop of a hat.
I not agree with you 12:24. Healing system is ok. When we make it simple, what will be difrents vs cod? Game modes, a,b cap is shity... they should change something.
I understand. The issue is, you get 3 bleeds and need to sit there for 30 seconds or nearly half the round healing, making loads of noise. It's ok in EFT because there's 40 minutes in a Raid. ARENA, there's 1:30 until the objective comes up... 😬
@@HayzStreams I think this is from a skewed perspective. I imagine more of a clutch mechanic where with your teams help against all odds you fix 3 bleeds and heal. But in most cases you are dead, healing is not even relevant. I guess more of a problem of RNG 0.1% chance of getting 3 bleeds and a fracture.
@@SixTough I don't think I understand what you mean. The team helps their player by giving them meds to survive because the player doesn't have enough meds? I can't think of anything worse IMO. Imagine being in that situation where you have to get your team to stop what they're doing and help you. You then lose the round because your team is out of position.
@@HayzStreams yes exactly. Medicine is a bonus. The game should be played mostly without medicine (like imagine CS2 with the ability to fully heal 3 times, it's nonsensical)
I think the healing issues wouldn't be nearly as bad if you could customize the meds you have with you, being able to pressure people by dealing a ton of damage and giving them bleeds is a useful way to gain an advantage in a fight
Ideas are great but its just more of a extra and only benefits twitch viewers and yourself. Eft needs more optimizations and more maps and fixing game breaking glitches.
I think your ideas are great. Even just taking the basic idea of the changes you suggested would be a net positive for the game. This achieves preserving what makes tarkov "tarkov" while improving what arena is meant to be.
Something I want to add from a much older gamer than you, once you reduce your expectations of being top 1 or 2 %, or your gameplay slows down… You will appreciate more rng in your favorite games.
I can understand that. I was once in my prime, competing in tournaments. I'm 30 years old (not TOO old) and I can definitely feel myself slowing down. This doesn't deter from the fact that Arena is built to be an esports game. The RNG is only part of the game because the game mode hasn't been thought out well enough. It's a Bi-product of the bad game mode.
Arena has been advertised as a fast paced arena shooter. There's nothing fast paced about the medical system IMO. It works for EFT, but not for Arena. Everyone complains people are camping and "Everyone is holding angles". The med system makes this worse.
I dont feel like it does. If you peek a corner and take a heavy bleed you can't outcamp the wound. You will either have to break your field of fire to heal, which opens the lane, or you continue holding the angle and potentially bleed out. Its one of the most realistic parts of the gunfighting in Tarkov @@HayzStreams
i think the last seconds should be a static spawn flag with a timer, relatable to COD gunfight game mode. If no one captures team with more hp wins; same hp ends in a draw.
Can't agree nor disagree yet. Just a viewer for no access. I do like the customization option though. Only downside is that you can't change mid game. The way I'm seeing the game so far is you all choose loadouts and you stick with it the entire game? Helps re-adjust strats during the game...
That's exactly right, yes. Cannot change it up. This is why META's form because if players are stuck for the whole match, they're going to find the best overall class to stick with.
Your gamemode proposal is exactly what Arena needs to become a competitive title, but I will say that with a decent amount of hours now rounds have never lasted long enough for the clean up crew to come in. With actual Tarkov players now in the game, the rounds and engagement are far shorter. Additionally, the simplification of game mechanics is not a solution, Arena pro teams will now be made up actual Tarkov chads as we have seen with TSM, meaning that both viewers and players will be Tarkov Players. Also making Arena like every other competitive games will not help it, thats why CSGO, Dota 2, LOL, and VAL are the only real competitive shooters. Many have tired to follow their systems and mechanics and have failed because viewers need something different. As a CSGO player I dont want to play CSGO with Tarkov mechanics. But you have some good ideas.
I respect that, definitely. I'm curious though. What do you think they want from an esport, if not a less random and frustrating experience? I personally think the Tarkov gunplay and weaponry in general is what makes players love it. That won't change.. but the frustration will be less.
If you are talking about BSG, they saw an opportunity to attract more people casual players, and make more money. Plus, I dont see them wanting to stay in Esports. If you are talking about players, they want the same shit they have been asking for a while. Better hit res, less rats, and more Tarkov. Also the best moments in Tarkov is when u are fighting against a PMC and a AI adds more pressure. So Arena has to translate that in some way. @@HayzStreams
@@mercobtw they've literally invited esports teams to Dreamhack to compete for $100k and there's more events coming 100%. They're in it for the long haul. AI has been a part of gunfights but I would never say they've added to the gunfight. Moreso an annoyance to distract you. Clean up crew is a Bi-product of a basic gamemode with 0 thought.
An easy solution is to keep the existing gamemode, but add a gamemode similar to your idea for Compeititve games and for those that want something like that. @@HayzStreams
In the early leveling stages of Arena, for sure. I noticed that too. It's kinda like early wipe Tarkov. It gets much quicker with better classes. Sometimes too quick IMO.
it will fail if they dont give access to the people who bought the game first. i can imagine some people being like fuck this waiting i dont even wanna play this shit anymore. job well done BSG like usual :)
@@HayzStreams Like you said in the video, they need to rework the healing system. And honestly, the TTK is absolutely insane. I know it's Tarkov, but with such a fast TTK, the meta will (d)evolve to basically rat plays. There's zero incentive to peek out and push considering how unforgiving the TTK is, specially when you pair it with the ruthless healing system. This is just a personal note, but I always felt like Tarkov movement was mega clunky, and it really shows in Arena. It's passable due to the pace of the base game, but on Arena it really doesn't work, and just shows how clunky the game is.
@@joaocorreiamedia I've been playing Arena for around 26 hours total. The TTK is really slow at the starting kits. As you go up ranks and everyone else does too, it gets a lot faster. The good thing about Arena IS the weight of kits is much less than normal Tarkov, so the weight system doesn't have much of an effect.
Not at all. What people LOVE about Tarkov is the gunfights, the intense action, realistic gunplay and Risk Vs Reward. I'm not suggesting to remove any of that.
@@HayzStreamsyou literally said it would be a complete overhaul. In not so many words you said that you want them to rework the med/injury system, change there available game mode to your specs, you also want them to change everything about their loadout system (I agree with this one), and you want them to get rid of the cleanup crew. Also you talk a lot about RNG but fail to point out that their gunplay is ALMOST pure RNG, especially when spraying the guns and head armor. You want them to change almost everything about arena 😂 not only that but you straight up called it "the bloat of tarkov that's in arena". It sounds like you want a game that has their graphics and movement but the rest has got to go.
@@skitch8616 I really don't think you understood what I said. The class system needs changing to custom load outs. If the class system changes, the med system probably shouldn't need changing. And vice versa, if they don't change classes, the med system needs to be simplified. Do you not agree that Arena doesn't need everything that main Tarkov has? It's a game MADE FOR esports. It can't have all of these Tarkov mechanics because it won't survive as an esport.
@@HayzStreams so what you actually meant to say is that they need to change the loadouts to include the ability to cure all the ailments that come from the injury system that is in place (that's not what you said)? As far as "MADE FOR E-SPORTS" I disagree with you, just because it's made for Esports doesnt mean it has to be a fast pace shooter like you're used to seeing in Esports. Tarkov is meant to be a slow paced tactical extraction looter shooter played on larger maps (with the exception of Factory). While I dont agree with everything they have done with arena I certainly dont think they need to overhaul arena.
@@skitch8616 That's exactly what I spoke about in the video. I don't know what to tell you anymore. It's an opinion at the end of the day but I don't see Arena being a successful esport unless it's changed. Simple as that.
Exactly what I'm saying. I know what frustration is when I played professional PUBG 🤣 This won't make it unless they change /remove the frustrating mechanics.
I think its good the way it is it shouldnt be like valorant or siege that will kill it why play eft if you can play cs go with the same and better mode
Bro you people are so use to complaining about garbage games that when an actual flawless one comes out you ppl still have to moan 🤣 IVE NEVER PLAYED SUCH A STABLE GAME DAY ONEEEE AND ITS A FREAKING FACTTTTTT(battlebit was good day 1 too).
Totally fair. It's unfortunate that peeps can't get in at the moment but it's gradually being released to everyone. It'll get there.
@@HayzStreams I just got it lmao am hopeful but time will tell, hope a lot more can get it before tmmrw.
Totally agree. My game mode example was just that, a mode that changes the objectives for both teams.
I said the same about the medical system.
What about the game mode won't end well? It is an example idea, but not a bad idea IMO.
@@SixTough Alright 🤣 Yeah I dont think I would ever want to play that crap.
Its disaster whit stupid preset differences, they need to fix hip fires and presets and the way we go in loading and caping points. imediatly
I think the healing issues wouldn't be nearly as bad if you could customize the meds you have with you, being able to pressure people by dealing a ton of damage and giving them bleeds is a useful way to gain an advantage in a fight
That's exactly what I mentioned in the video, yeah. 👍
Thank you! I'm glad you see what I'm trying to put across
I think the medical system is supposed to be hard, I don't think you should expect to always reheal and reengage.
Its one of the most realistic parts of the gunfighting in Tarkov
@@HayzStreams
i think the last seconds should be a static spawn flag with a timer, relatable to COD gunfight game mode.
People are wayyyy to bullet spongy 😢
In the early leveling stages of Arena, for sure. I noticed that too. It's kinda like early wipe Tarkov.
It gets much quicker with better classes. Sometimes too quick IMO.
it will fail if they dont give access to the people who bought the game first. i can imagine some people being like fuck this waiting i dont even wanna play this shit anymore. job well done BSG like usual :)
True. They said they've given access to one third of available players so far and will be speeding it up AFAIK.
Unlike the base game, there are certain things competitive shooters need in order to take off. Tarkov Arena just... feels boring af.
What do you think it needs? 🤔
So from your video it sounds like you're saying take everything that's tarkov based in Arena and get rid of it?
Simple as that.
give the feedback that nikita should give me arena in wave 1
You aren’t missing much. It’s so bare bones right now the only way you’ll have fun with it is a handful of games with friends.
Doesn't seem like it'll be a popular esports game with so much rng
Exactly what I'm saying. I know what frustration is when I played professional PUBG 🤣
This won't make it unless they change /remove the frustrating mechanics.
I think its good the way it is it shouldnt be like valorant or siege that will kill it why play eft if you can play cs go with the same and better mode
The game is nothing like siege or valorant and any changes won't change the fact that it's still Tarkov, but faster and simplified.
Yea this is a good videos but the problem is you have a money hungry dev who does not give a shit about the game failing.
Game fails = they make no money.
The only actual problem are the kits but that will most likely fix it self when the ranks get spread out more. Game hasnt crash, lagged or bugged out once but you ppl are still btching like its the usual garbage you play. Give respect where its due so maybe other game companies can do the same.
I didn't complain about the performance once. I'm simply giving constructive feedback on a game that we are currently testing.
Arena will be dead within a year
Arena won't be dead. It has much potential, but I do think BSG is going to have to make many hard compromises on their original vision.
Interesting take with no thought behind it. Good stuff.
@@HayzStreamshavent played arena yet but i think its just in a bad spot. I only play tarkov because of the economy and loot, I actually hate how bs tarkov pvp is with random recoil, desync, ratting meta, long range audio and bad movement.
@@powercore9277 Arena IS fairly different to Tarkov with the META. But yeah, Audio isn't great, movement isn't as bad because your nowhere near heavy enough, and desync is kinda the same but maybe slightly less.

It's still fun. Just concerned about it's future
