My mom passed away 10/24/2017 and she is the reason I myself know of this song. It's been 3 years and I just now for the first time listened to this song again since her passing and cried like a baby. He contacted me and exclaimed how he always loved me with all of his soul but was to afraid to say anything fearing I’d reject him. I can’t even lie, I got my heart broke in 2016 when my wife of 20 years out of no where told me we needed space and we haven’t been together since. It was horrible, way worse then any physical pain. Little did I know 2 years later this girl comes in to my life out of no where. I fell in love with her immediately and we had amazing chemistry and I at that moment realized what I thought was true love was not even close. I had found true love with this girl because nothing was forced, it was so natural and magical. Needless to say she would drift away from me and I haven’t gotten over her since. I love her more then anything and I can say that with complete conviction. I don’t think I can ever recover from losing her.

April of 2021 and still listening. Everytime i hear this song i picture a long, rural straight dirt road. It's night. Half moon. Overcast sky spattered with dim starlight. The time is after midnight but well before dawn. This dusty county road is off a main road that is remote. In the distance the sound of a car moving closer off the main road grows louder, the hum of the engine piercing the silence of the night. Music is playing in the car as a dark, dreamy, melancholy sound escapes the cracked windows. Back on the dirt road, dust is tossed around as a sudden, inexplicable wind gushes through the pine trees that line both sides of the road. The pine cones sway and whip in the sudden breeze, dropping as the branches and pine needels clash about. The road seems so lonely. Or maybe it just seems lonely to a person who may be walking this darkened stretch of earth at such an hour off the beaten path. But the night and road now have life and a dreamy energy as the trees sway, bending with the windstorm. It's as if the song has manifested an unexplained, unseen energy. Everybody got love stories and I've got this peculiar friendship I managed to become a part of through this internet friend. This song reminds me of her so much. Behind the emptiness and shallowness of her eyes, I managed to sense some sort of an acceptance. Knowing she only taking my opinions as for their face values gave me a sense of tranquility. She was everything I loved and hated about humans in a one single body. She walked unconsciously on both sides embracing aspects of life, most of us would never grasp in our lifetime How can someone be so precise and pay attention to details like she does? Exploring her mind felt similar to coming across explicit rap music for the first time as a teen. I know It wasn't for me but I couldn't stop finding it fascinating. My friendship with her was the perfect example of chasing the cat away by wanting to be a friend to it. The more friendly I became, the more uncomfortable she got. Even the slightest nice gestures could make her feel like something is wrong.Being the over zealous culprit I am, I couldn't resist appreicating how precise and cleverly she puts her words together and How wisely she explains herself not to mention english not even being her mother tongue. Unfortunately ( or fortunately) the more I get charged energetically, the most she got discharged mentally and tried to avoid me. Her existence in my life was purely her own self. It's an identity she made completely by herself. That's where the issue lies, her presence thrived independently in my world with no contributions by myself and now since she's not there anymore, I do not know what to do with the place she had left. When I usually lose someone, I lose a piece of me with them. Its alright so I know the problem lies within me and I focus on growing better but when I lost her, I simply lost her. I'd consider myself to be a kind person. Kind in a sense that I literally see no value in my existence so I have no issue giving everyone everything and keeping none to myself. Her friendship affected how I behave in life in generally. My sentiments and core beliefs remained the same but my way of acting upon some of them changed drastically after her influence . Ever since I was exposed to her unfiltered human emotions, it has been quite the dilemma for me to recieve and accept others emotional baggage without an issue. I crave for that honesty and intimacy now. Friendships with no facades. All the seconds I spent looking for sun turned out to be a waste of time since the warmth of hopeless and wretched thoughts became a drug through her. I cannot decide what is wrong or what is right for me anymore. I'm perfectly and casually continuing my daily day to day activities helping every person best possible way I can but the void in me that turned to a black hole slowly taking over every part of my soul and I'm slowly losing the grip of my reality. Comfort I gain through music and writing down my thoughts have become the only thing I'm comfortable in approaching. Hope you are doing great o dawg :) doing whatever you are doing

I interpret the line "fade into you" completely different. I knew a guy who would always resort to saying how the only time when he would feel light and good was when this girl was giving her time and energy to him, how he was himself only when he was around her. And how her absence was turning him into a dark, manipulative, bad person. Eventually he started getting into the habbit of taking advantage of this girl's good, nurturing nature and using that victim façade to make her want to take him back into her life, again and again, even though he was slowly dimming her light. The girl started realizing how, in fact, that goodness and light that he was claiming as being his own true nature, were actually just a reflection of her onto him. And how his dark tendencies and attractions were not something that she should blame herself for, but were actually his truth. Regardless of her presence. And so... he was not fading into darkness without her. He was fading into himself. That girl may or may not be me.

My mom passed away 10/24/2017 and she is the reason I myself know of this song. It's been 3 years and I just now for the first time listened to this song again since her passing and cried like a baby. Now I'm not exactly sure why, but she did tell me when I first heard this song that this was her song to me. I've googled the meaning to this song and I've yet to find one for a mother and child, however I'm getting married 10/03/2020 and I have decided to have my first dance to it since it is so sentimental to me and my mother will not be there.

I can’t even lie, I got my heart broke in 2016 when my wife of 20 years out of no where told me we needed space and we haven’t been together since. It was horrible, way worse then any physical pain. Little did I know 2 years later this girl comes in to my life out of no where. I fell in love with her immediately and we had amazing chemistry and I at that moment realized what I thought was true love was not even close. I had found true love with this girl because nothing was forced, it was so natural and magical. Needless to say she would drift away from me and I haven’t gotten over her since. The time is after midnight but well before dawn. This dusty county road is off a main road that is remote. In the distance the sound of a car moving closer off the main road grows louder, the hum of the engine piercing the silence of the night. Music is playing in the car as a dark, dreamy, melancholy sound escapes the cracked windows. Back on the dirt road, dust is tossed around as a sudden, inexplicable wind gushes through the pine trees that line both sides of the road. The pine cones sway and whip in the sudden breeze, dropping as the branches and pine needels clash about. The road seems so lonely. Everybody got love stories and I've got this peculiar friendship I managed to become a part of through this internet friend. This song reminds me of her so much. Behind the emptiness and shallowness of her eyes, I managed to sense some sort of an acceptance. Knowing she only taking my opinions as for their face values gave me a sense of tranquility. She was everything I loved and hated about humans in a one single body. She walked unconsciously on both sides embracing aspects of life, most of us would never grasp in our lifetime How can someone be so precise and pay attention to details like she does? Exploring her mind felt similar to coming across explicit rap music for the first time as a teen. I know It wasn't for me but I couldn't stop finding it fascinating.
My friendship with her was the perfect example of chasing the cat away by wanting to be a friend to it. The more friendly I became, the more uncomfortable she got. Even the slightest nice gestures could make her feel like something is wrong.Being the over zealous culprit I am, I couldn't resist appreicating how precise and cleverly she puts her words together and How wisely she explains herself not to mention english not even being her mother tongue. Unfortunately ( or fortunately) the more I get charged energetically, the most she got discharged mentally and tried to avoid me. Her existence in my life was purely her own self. It's an identity she made completely by herself. That's where the issue lies, her presence thrived independently in my world with no contributions by myself and now since she's not there anymore, I do not know what to do with the place she had left. When I usually lose someone, I lose a piece of me with them. Its alright so I know the problem lies within me and I focus on growing better but when I lost her, I simply lost her.
I'd consider myself to be a kind person. Kind in a sense that I literally see no value in my existence so I have no issue giving everyone everything and keeping none to myself.
Her friendship affected how I behave in life in generally. My sentiments and core beliefs remained the same but my way of acting upon some of them changed drastically after her influence . Ever since I was exposed to her unfiltered human emotions, it has been quite the dilemma for me to recieve and accept others emotional baggage without an issue. I crave for that honesty and intimacy now. Friendships with no facades.
All the seconds I spent looking for sun turned out to be a waste of time since the warmth of hopeless and wretched thoughts became a drug through her. I cannot decide what is wrong or what is right for me anymore. I'm perfectly and casually continuing my daily day to day activities helping every person best possible way I can but the void in me that turned to a black hole slowly taking over every part of my soul and I'm slowly losing the grip of my reality. Comfort I gain through music and writing down my thoughts have become the only thing I'm comfortable in approaching.

56 and grew up on rock and metal and still love it hard, but this has always touched my softer side and always a fave of mine.
I interpret the line "fade into you" completely different.
I knew a guy who would always resort to saying how the only time when he would feel light and good was when this girl was giving her time and energy to him, how he was himself only when he was around her. And how her absence was turning him into a dark, manipulative, bad person.
Eventually he started getting into the habbit of taking advantage of this girl's good, nurturing nature and using that victim façade to make her want to take him back into her life, again and again, even though he was slowly dimming her light.
The girl started realizing how, in fact, that goodness and light that he was claiming as being his own true nature, were actually just a reflection of her onto him. And how his dark tendencies and attractions were not something that she should blame herself for, but were actually his truth. Regardless of her presence.
And so... he was not fading into darkness without her. He was fading into himself.
That girl may or may not be me.

I read the supposed meaning to this song and it appears as the truth. Sooo you just love someone because you love them looking for nothing in return. But you don't stop having the ability to love.
