- Yeah! I made these beautiful Jack o lanterns last year, and I still have them on my living room all year long as decoration. I went to Salem MA wearing them on Halloween 2021 and I had a blast. Everyone was taking pictures of me and my partner. They will last (and you will have fun) if you make them with commitment and if you follow these tips I’m gonna tell you :
-🎃Pick a balloon a big bigger than your head, so it can fit and you can wear it (is you are gonna wear it)
🎃-Add a lot of layers of paper, glue and water. (This is the mix I use, but you can use flour if you want)
Ok, back to the layers… so, when I say add lot of layers, I mean more that 5 layers and let them dry in between. The more layers the sturdier and durable will be.
Add a layer, let it dry for a few hours with a fan, or over night, then add another and let it dry and so on. When you pop that balloon, the paper it’s supposed to hold the shape with no problem.
🎃-Cut the eyes, mouth and nose with a very sharp xacto knife. (Be careful)
🎃-Paint and seal at the end. I did used Spray Modge Podge.
📣🎃THE STEM🎃📣
I FORGOT TO ADD THAT PART to the video, but I got you.
Grab some aluminun foil paper and shape it as a stem. Then wrap it with masking tape. Then , use Paper, glue and water and do the same thing we did with the pumpkin head. Layer that steam with that. But Maybe less layers. I thing one or twi are enough .
Then, once dry, paint it and glue it with hot glue at the top. And thats it. Easy!
You can add your own personal details to it.
I made this one very simple, it was for a very specific something, but you can go wild with the design and colors, variations etc.
Tag me on my socials if this was useful.
Like, comment and share with a soooky friend.
Have fun!
Happy Halloween🎃

We can even use this as a decorative item i am sooooo happy thanks the video is soooo helping i am subscribing now❤
I have them on display! It been two years and they are still intact!
I wanted to ask how many layers we have to add and how much time it will take to dry?
@@kashan29 add as many layers as you can. It’s gonna be a long process. Let the layers dry in between, that’s importance for sturdiness. I did more than ten or twelve layers on these ones. That is why, I still have them on display after 2 years. Hope this helps!
@@darkclementineart00 thanks for help
What are your materials?❤
Not paying $119.00 for a Jack head for my costume. This vid is perfect. Ty
YW! Just make sure to add a lot lot of layer. Let them dry in between for sturdiness. Happy Halloween!
This is gonna help me with my jack in the box cosplay!
Yes!!! I’m so happy! 🥰
@@darkclementineart00 honestly your so creative❤️❤️
Hey I’m doing a jack in the box cosplay
@@EggwashArt cool!!
@@EggwashArtsameeee
My grandfather used to make masks like that so awesome
Thank you.
When the new video I’m so excited!😊🎃
I did this one year but used an actual pumpkin as the base to get the shape and it was so much fun. My son still has it and we use it as a decoration.
I just carved a pumpkin thin enough to fit on my head haha I got some bomb pics of it, it was easy, just cut the bottom and leave the top and carve a face then bam just thin it out and you have a pumpkin mask, may be heavy but good for pics
I Love this ❤❤
Thanks 🦇
Great idea! Papier-mâché is awesome - bigger size is dependent on balloon.
Yes!
pretty good.
Thanks

I love it! 😊
Thanks 🥰
@@darkclementineart00 I am trying to connect with you on Instagram.
It’s perfect going to make one for my son!
I made a Jack In The Box mascot head out of the same materials lol.
Nice!!!!
This is so cute :) Whats the glue to water ratio?
It looks to be about 1:1 ratio
tyty
What did you add into the glue?
What music did you use? I love it ...
Damn too late, I was looking for a pumpkin the day of Halloween 😅. Next year though
This tutorial is quite easy to follow, with few materials needed, I just love it, but can it also be used to make a mask? (sorry if my English is bad)
Your English is good! Don’t apologize! English is not my first language either. And yes, you can make a mask with this technique. You just have to add a lot of layers for sturdiness. Good luck!
How did you black out the eyes so well? Did you used any material?
Very useful
Legal ❤
Thanks ☺️
can we can use chart paper instead of newspaper?
This looks like an art attack project.😂
I don’t know what that is but I Will google it. Sounds cool tho
How long did it take to dry?
What size balloon do I need to fit over my head? Also what did u use for the top part?
Hi ,so cool!Do you use an acrylic paint?
Yes! 😉
@@darkclementineart00 Thank you !And can you tell me if gouache is suitable for painting?😅
@@kzrdfo it is good. I guess. It’s kinda the same. But different lol
You just need to seal it at the end to make it waterproof and to protect it.
@@darkclementineart00 tysm!I couldn't find the answer to this question but you literally saved me!
I did kind of the same thing
Yessss I just use this for decorating! Sadly, no one really does trick or treating anymore 😢
I have to drive 2 hours out of town to go trick or treating and it’s a blast there where I go!
They must all be in MY neighborhood then, because we get a LOT of trick or treaters, van loads full at a time, so many people it looks like we’re throwing a nightlong block party… and you better have the goods or they’re not leaving until you put something in the pail… the first year after covid restrictions ended our lights were out cause we ran outta candy & kids still knocked and wouldn’t leave, they looked so sad after we told them we were out of candy… we had to give them crackers, chips, cocoa packets… whatever we had in the pantry… lol.
@@The.Hawaiian.Kingdom I LOVE THIS! And yes, where we go, they have parties, they do have popcorn, cotton candy and even ice cream in some houses. They give away full size chocolate hahahaha It’s rare these days. But we have to go very early, cause it’s so full sometime we get caught in traffic just to enter the neighborhood. But it’s so worth it! Best Halloween ever.
@@darkclementineart00
Popcorn, cotton candy and ice cream 😳😱?! I’d throw on a mask and go trick or treating myself! Lol. 🤭😁
Comment avez vous fait la queue de citrouille ?
What was that white stuff you put on it?

Hi! Thank you for this amazing video. I have a question, before you applied the orange paint, was it white paint?
Yes! You can do white paint. Or guesso too. Just remember to add a lot of layers of paper, glue and water (optional flour) for sturniness! And let the layers dry in between. Have fun!
Hi how many layer of newspapers have you put
Потскажите пожалуйста сколько вы слоёв делали?
This is cute! Where did you find a phone book?? Lol!!!
Thank you!!!
Hahaha the phone book was delivered to my house that year. I know is rare these days. 😅
What kind of glue is this?
School glue with water. You can also do it with flour mixture.
what's the glue to water ratio ?
With most paper mache, it would usually be a 1:1 ratio of glue and water, so that's what I assume it is
What do you mix with the glue to make the sticky liquid (dont know what it's called)?
i think that's just water
Baby very nice donkeh
is it glue and water ????
Yes! :)
I put my pumpkin to dry till night but it didn't dry what I do now?
Sometimes, it can Takes days. Depend on the humidity of the place you live in. Sun helps. Fans too. Remember to let the layers dry in between.
@@darkclementineart00 OK that helps
@@scorpiusrex5923 Yeah! It’s a long process. At least you started early. Good luck!
@@darkclementineart00 thanks I will give you feedback
@@darkclementineart00 and can we can use chart paper instead of newspaper
So is it Elmer’s glue and water or flour and water ?
I personally use glue and water. But you can do flour and water or even glue, flour and water. It’s up to personal liking. ☺️
Hello, it looks beautiful on you, but I have a question, I hope you can answer it, what is the name of the candle you put up?
The little candle that I put inside the Jack o Lantern? Flameless tealight candles. They are battery operated. You can buy them online or in retails stores like Walmart. :)
Thank you
I am using a real pumpkin like a man

Hahahahahha I just saw that TikTok today. Hahahaha
is the white thing glue?
Yes! Glue and water. Flour optional!!!
Is there a trick for making the dent formation on the top of the pumpkin? TY
I made it by pressing down, pressing down literally with my hand. :)
I was so scared that I would break it lol. I'm glad I found your video. I never thought about the details on top of the pumpkin. I think it gives it more character. Thank you for the idea 🖤
@@adrianagarnica-purkiss8459 No problem! Have fun!!!
Que materiales usas
Can you tell me how many layers of paper did you stick to create it? Hope you can reply me as soon as possible because I need to decorate my English Center. Thanks.😢😢
To be honest, I did more then 12 layers , letting them dry in between. I did this because I want them to last and be as sturdy as possible. I still have them on my wall as decor after 2 years of making them. So, yeah! Hope this helps.
@@darkclementineart00 Thank you so much. Your video helps me a lot. I’m just afraid that when I take out the balloon, the form will be affected 😐😐
@@yduong5186 if you add enough layers, and let the layers dry in between and then you let everything dry completely, you won’t have any problems! ☺️
What size was the balloon?
I don’t remember the exact size that I used, but it has to be a lil bigger than your head to be able to fit properly.
What did u add yo the glue was it water?
Yes! Water and glue! :)
@@darkclementineart00 tysm I will definitely try it :)
Wait how did u make the balloon not stick to the paper ?
@@drawingmasterpiece it simply does no stick by default.
@@darkclementineart00 oh ok ty
how did you know this idea
I grew up in the 90’s. We used to do this kinds of things. No technology made us made things lol

Can’t find news paper anywhere
Try packing paper then. It works. Just add a lot of layers and let them dry in between.
