Fantastic, this was before my time but I love love love the sound of The Tornados. Love Telstar too and even bought the vinyl single 2nd hand recently.
If I ever have an out of body experience, I can imagine my spirit soaring through Space, with this music playing all around. These guys really nailed it .
I must say, the Tornadoes were ok back then but George's son Matt Bellamy has done him proud in one of my fav present bands MUSE Don't you just love musical families? They just get better....
I prefer the one immediately behind him. That Jeremy Lloyd got around...I've seen him in Help, Hard Day's Night, a Billy Fury film and now this all on U Tube always in the same suit !! The he went on the write those comedy scripts..nice life !
They are not playing Telstar - the keyboard player's right hand fits this melody exactly. With his left hand he is just vamping to have something to do visually, he'd look a bit naff just playing with his right hand (they're all miming, of course). Plus him and the drummer are playing the correct beats on the intro. Believe me - I'm a pro keyboard player.
March Of The Spacemen is not exactly this song,it has some space noises at the begining and operatic background voices. From 00:14 to 00:40 is the chorus, but the rest hasn´t anything to do with the Thunderbolts version.Anyway, both are great tunes.
I might be wrong, but I always though that "Globertotter" was that song which sounded like"Venus In Blue Jeans".This is more like "March Of The Spacemen" of The Thunderbolts, another Joe Meek production.
Yes the caption is misleading. this is "All the Stars in the Sky", NOT Globetrotter. There was much controversy at the time as Globetrotter certainly did sound like Blue Jeans. Joe Meek was fond of pinching musical phrases from other tunes. I've always thought I could recognise a bit from the Dambusters Tune in The Ice Cream Man.
This is in no way trying to justify him by any means, but this was DECADES before he was found out about. I know they were accusations even back then but it was the 60s and you’d be very lucky to be taken seriously by anyone sadly 😢
@@taiterobinson793 Surely everybody thought he was a creep even then? I certainly did, and everybody else I knew. We had no idea how much of a creep he was, but the revelation wasn't exactly a surprise.
It must have been abysmal as they were all very much as you describe. There was a strange tendency to make films that would be acceptable to the likes of Jean Metcalfe and Cliff Michelmore and they'd throw in someone like Kenneth More and his wife Angela Douglas to make sure it wasn't a bad influence on Britain's teenagers. There was never any realism in those days. Somehow we ended up where we are toady. I wish you peace and well-being.

Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some trading cards of 1960's chart topping stars: The Tornados, Cliff Richard, Elvis Presley, Adam Faith, Billy Furry, Frank Sinatra, Lonnie Donegan, and Shirley Bassey.
lol, I'm a big Muse fan and decided to give this band a chance, but although I love bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, hell, even Bob Dylan, those guys are too old for me...Too 50's
Just for fun was the worst of all the 1960s musicals, absolutely dreadful and pretty much unwatchable, paper thin script about nothing except teenagers wanting to get the vote, blah blah blah and onto another song introduced by david jacobs..
I remember the Tornados when I was in junior school. I still love to hear their stuff. It's a shame two of them have died.
The intro to this tune is fantastic.

"Vampires, Cowboys, and Spacemen" is one of the greatest compilations ever.
Yes You're right.
this is great man it was their second greatest hit
This is a good group, mostly instrumental I think. Thanks for posting.
I adored the Tornados and now I hear their influence in Muse, George Bellamy the guitarist is Matt Bellamy's father.
Great music
This could be from the film Just For Fun
see imdb and soundtrack info.

You can hear the influence in Muses music, I've seen them live and I love them
The clip is from the movie "Just for fun".
I wonder who the Brigitte Bardot look a like was next to Jeremy Lloyd's right.
great stuff
0:04 all the way to the right is George Bellamy
in the photo of 1:31 i DO believe its the bottom right one. kinda looks like him too.
Now the change is official.
@Strawberry7Lynn thankyou for that
Another great track from the early 1960's Its a pity that Beatlemania sounded the deathnell for these early groups and solo singers .
I prefer the one immediately behind him. That Jeremy Lloyd got around...I've seen him in Help, Hard Day's Night, a Billy Fury film and now this all on U Tube always in the same suit !! The he went on the write those comedy scripts..nice life !
Brian Gregg entered the group when Heinz started his solo career, didn´t he?
Yes but he didn't last long and was himself replaced by Ray Randall.

Nope it's not. George Bellamy is the one on the top right. If you compare it with the 0:03 photo it can only be him.
sounds similiar to Telstar
Creo que ya encontré al padre de Matt Bellamy
Alguien sabe, cuál de los guitarrista se es su papá?
el del medio creo xF
@@fernandocasablancas4281 Yes George Bellamy is middle at the back.
great, father matt belamy
is this thing working?
by heinz lookalike what do you mean?
The keyboardist's finger movements don't fit this video, so it probably is "Telstar"
aahwhh..matthew looks so much alike his father..
Ugh, Jimmy Saville is in there!
