This is a great video! I have been scared my whole life of not being good enough that I’ve been creatively paralyzed. Joy joy joy! I will only accept joy in 2019. See you Saturday. Thank you, Sarra!
I have big plans for next year but I'm trying to keep them realistic so i don't become disillusioned and just quit! The best advice I read was, instead of saying as a New Year's resolution that you will write two books this year, say you will write 10,000 words a week. Small bite size actions to make it more palatable! : )
Sara - I have just finished first draft of my first book at 90,000 words. I am over the moon, and would never have got there if it werent for your videos. They have been a constant inspiration and motivation for me. Merry Christmas!
Future video: how to find editors and cover designers! Also how to launch... like what does your prelaunch look like and what would you do as a new author. Love this video! My second time watching it. So motivating.
I have learned so much from you so far. Thank you! I set up a kanban board for December, and am liking the visual. I tend to fill out a planner, then not refer to it regularly. A BuJo has helped some, but having the board right there in front of me every time I walk into my office will do big things for me. Thanks again for all of your helpful tips. I foresee 2019 to be a great one for me. 😀
Idea for video or on your website: could you provide a list of books that helped w/ your mindset goals. I know you mention them in your presentations, but would love to see a recommended list.
I am not looking to be an author but I am looking for that final kick to start auditioning for Voice Over jobs I have Multiple Sclerosis - it dictates my days - so I am open to all kinds of options to see what I can get that will help me manage around this your planners look like they can help - it is all about adaptation !
Thank you for your comment! I can't imagine the challenges you face, but I'm inspired by your determination to keep going for your dreams. I think the planner will really apply to anyone looking to go after their goals! If you give it a try, let me know how it works for you!
I just found your channel and I must say that it has proven to be one of the best gifts I've given to myself. Thank you for all your content, I watch and take notes and apply as much as possible. Please keep up the amazing work. You rock!
Sarra, I have watched several of your videos and some twice over. I have enjoyed the gems I have been able to find in them. I agree with you that fear gets in the way quite a bit. Like you I have had success and then let fear get in the way. I am working to over come these shortcomings. I would like to share with you, I am working on an anchor series to come out in 2019. This is thanks to your videos and help in clearing up my thinking. Thank you for all you do Sarra! Much love and success.
Sarra, you are such an inspiration! Thank you for putting these videos together and sharing your experience, expertise, and tools of the trade. I'm loving your videos and advice! I hope you keep it up.
Can't wait to start the bootcamp! :) I'd be interested in seeing a video on how you use Google Docs, and also one on good ways to deal with crippling self-doubt. (Asking for a friend. Haha.)
So I'm working through your recommended reading list from the "Plot you novel" series, but I'd also love to hear your recommendations for online courses and boot-camps (other than yours of course) that you feel have been the most beneficial to you. This might be a great blog post if not a video idea... or maybe you could send out an e-mail to your newsletter subscribers for Heart Breathings? I hate wasting time and money. Trying to figure out who is worth listening to can be tricky. Would love to get some useful resources on the goal list for 2019. Looking forward to purchasing your planner when I can afford it. Thanks for making an undated version :)
I'm going to have to rewatch this when I plan out my new goals for 2019! You got me ready to conquer a new year and a new mindset for writing and self-publishing!
I had to go through several of your videos to find your Etsy store. Would you mind updating your About section and video notes with your Etsy store link? That way we can find it easier!
Loved this video! You have such great timing. I have been trying to motivate myself to get some things done and when I got the notification you had posted a video, I watched it immediately and a wave of motivation hit. :D I would really love, love, LOVE to see a video on newsletters, specifically what to put in them and how to find subscribers! Thank you, Sarra!!!
Thank you! I'm trying to decide whether to let it keep growing out or cut it above my shoulder again. Hmm. Maybe it would look good to grow it out again!
Thank you for this, it gives me hope about the coming year and all that I pray I will accomplish. I would love to hear more about your lessons learned this Nano, I finished my novel, but it's a big mess :) Also, a personal request. We just had a horrible tragedy in our family. I know things will ultimately work out and that it will even deepen my writing and my compassion towards others, but I am struggling with the business goals after my sister's death. Any words of wisdom in how to stay focussed and work through unexpected circumstances to stay on track after the unthinkable happens?
So, I've watched almost all your videos. They're very encouraging and motivational. And I have a question concerning anchor series. I wrote and published my first novel a few months ago... it's the start of a series but I had no 2nd one ready. Should I wait to publish the 2nd one until I've completed the first five and give myself a cushion. (I don't have a big fan base...yet) or should I pump them out as soon as I complete them? Thanks for all your advice :)
You mention the RWA conference....that's romance? What other conferences do you recommend for other genre authors? I am new and am curious. I apologize if this question is too basic.
I feel attacked when you said, are you going to say you're a writer and then binge watch netflix, LMAO. I have been "writing" for the last 5 years. So frustrated with myself for not buckling down and just doing it. And yes the crab thing is totally true.
Never Mind ~ I found it! I hadn't realized it was a long one :) [Ignore this: I'm trying to find your Dec. 8th Live video or any video you've done specifically on choosing your quarterly overreaching goals. Your videos are awesome and I've been binging them and am really interested in how you approach this topic. Can you direct me to the videos you've done on this?]
HiI, Sarra. I can't seem to find a link to your webinar next Saturday neither here nor on your website/Twitter. Is writer's blindness finally catching up with me? 😉
No, it's not you haha! I'll just be doing it live here on my TH-cam channel, so there's no link! If you're subscribed to notifications, you should get a message from TH-cam when I go live!
@HeartBreathings - I am not an author, but I think I've just gone through all of your 90 day type videos and wonder if the boot camp is solely focused on authors, or would be good for anyone who is looking to have a great 2019?
Thank you Heather! The Bootcamp is really good for anyone who is looking to set clear goals and get things done. There is some specific focus on authors with examples, etc, and parts of the planner specifically reference word count, but it's not excessive. I had a few people go through the last bootcamp who were not writers, and they said they got just as much out of it as everyone else!
Hi Sarra! Thank you for this awesome video! I was wondering, when does the HB90 boot camp for Q3 2019 start registration? I'm really really wanting to do it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere on the Sarra Cannon or Heart Breathings websites. :( I just signed up for both newsletters, so hopefully I'll hear about it. But if registration is open, I would really really love to be able to look at it and consider whether I can afford to do it this quarter! :)
Hi Taylor! I haven't announced the dates or registration for this round yet. I'm moving in June, so the dates have been a bit up in the air, but I'm pretty sure at this point it will begin on June 20th. I'll be announcing it and sending out information soon.
Coming late to you, but looks good so far, nice easy approach. Maybe more to come, but felt I needed to add at this point in your process that point of "overfill" and being realistic is a big one, far to easy to paint yourself into an unachievable schedule. So I now follow Carl's process in some detail - but I express it as Kanban (via Tello app), so sharing as they are similar and elements and details in both are useful. For goal setting and project planning - that takes the "rest" period and sick days, etc. into account from day one, see these and the method works well. Whether you express it in a ToDoIst app format or a Kanban board (Trello) or as your listing in the tables, it makes no real difference - it is what works for you.Look at the year, to set the goals: th-cam.com/video/dKoxTh96fBcL/w-d-xo.htmlook at the goals over them into projects: th-cam.com/video/Ek7_uQoBUa8L/w-d-xo.htmlook at the projects into tasks: th-cam.com/video/mXcp8OEyL9M/w-d-xo.html... ... the difference to date really is the formality of the weekly review, as Carl's business is lower of big projects (i.e. writing books) and higher on smaller projects and daily operations (classes and blogs/podcasts). Mix and match I'd say. Enjoy.
I've been binge watching your videos. I am not an author or writer, but have found alot of very useful content in your videos. I'm new to planning, journaling, manifesting......all of it. I really want to incorporate all these things in my life tho. I am very stagnant right now and it's not a compfy space to be in. Will you be having another hb90 course for q2? Does it have a lot of content specifically towards authors or is it universal? Thanks for being so inspirational!
Have you already given your 2019 goals some thought? Let me know what you want to accomplish in 2019 and which of these tips meant the most to you!
What do you do if you don't have people? What if there is no family? And friend's just suck?
"Surround yourself with people who make you feel like you can conquer the world." Your video's give me joy and courage. Thank you.
I am from the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, which is filled with crabs. The crabs in a barrel metaphor is true!
Oh my gosh, than you for commenting!! Isn't that wild?! No more crabs holding us back!
This is a great video! I have been scared my whole life of not being good enough that I’ve been creatively paralyzed. Joy joy joy! I will only accept joy in 2019. See you Saturday. Thank you, Sarra!
Deep down, you know you are good enough! Just focus on the joy you get and I promise you'll be on the right track!
I have big plans for next year but I'm trying to keep them realistic so i don't become disillusioned and just quit! Just about twelve minutes in but the reminder to think about the joy and the reason you started a project is so so so good, thank you ❤️
Ohhh just got through... yes to a google docs video! That’s what I use!
Future video: how to find editors and cover designers! Also how to launch... like what does your prelaunch look like and what would you do as a new author. Love this video! My second time watching it. So motivating.
Oh my god I know! I love New Years. Lets rock 2019! I'm so ready for this.
Yes!! We are going to, for sure!
O my goodness ,thank you . Fear has been crippling me for years . I am using your tips.
I have learned so much from you so far. Thank you!

Oh yes!! I would love to talk about that! Thank you.
Omgosh you are onto something! I am a planner addict but rarely seldom do said plan!! I can’t wait till the live!!!! I need help!!
I was right there with you!! Looking forward to the live and seeing you there!

Yes, yes, always yes on your pending videos and future videos. You've become my guru and I appreciate you! 💚💙💜
Such a great video. This was something I really needed to hear today! BTW, love the dragonfly necklace!
Thank you!!

So excited you're in the bootcamp!! The self doubt one is a great idea! Google docs video is coming next week I hope.
Thank you, Sarra, for your very informative and supportive videos💖
Erm and just FYI we LOVE what you have to say! So keep making videos!!! 💕✨Thanks for the amazing tips 🙌🏽✨
Thank you. 🤩 That means a lot to me!
Heart Breathings no problem! X

i love your videos and your channel and i am not even writing a book right now but i am starting a business.

I would really love, love, LOVE to see a video on newsletters, specifically what to put in them and how to find subscribers! Thank you, Sarra!!!
Great suggestion! That's something I'm planning to work on myself in the new year so it will be good timing.
I am SO there!
Oh my gosh you are totally in my brain! I'm going to go look up the bootcamp!
Love this! I'm currently fine-tuning my goals and figuring out what I need to do each quarter.
Such a timely video. Thanks again Sarra. By the way your hair looks great like that.
Thank you! I'm trying to decide whether to let it keep growing out or cut it above my shoulder again. Hmm. Maybe it would look good to grow it out again!

Yes, that's a great video idea, Debora. I'm definitely adding it to the list for next year thank you.

Sarra, what is the name of the book that you mentioned? It was something about Design your Life.
Was it The Desire Map? It's by Danielle LaPorte and it's amazing.
Love your stuff and, yes, MARKETING :-)

Tip for 2019. Don't put yourself in a bucket of crabs.
