Well he makes notes to check the ideas. Can't blame him for answering a question. What did you expect literature absorbing techniques had mysteriously become greatly leveled up from ancient times or something? You comment seems irrelevant after some thought.
I know how it is when you come across a thing you disagree and then it takes longer to finish. With stories is different because the author takes you to the journey the reader decides to make when it starts reading the book. With this video, I've been confirmed what I was thinking: that Bill Gates reads books turning page after page, like any other human being! :-)
I agree with you! There’s something about finishing a book to completion, even if you didn’t enjoy 1% of it, that feels empowering. Like, I can get through anything! Haha : )
Sometimes when i read a book i always deep analyze words by words in that particular page if i think I don’t get it enough. Which resulted to me reading one page for a kinda long amount of time. But that gave me the feel of satisfaction then just skipping it. Skipping it makes me feel so wrong and incomplete 🤣
It feels good to know that I have something in common with Bill Gates😅 :Taking notes on what I am learning from the book and taking long frustrating notes when I don't agree with something. Next step making sure, I finish every book I start💪.
Interesting how Naval Ravikant has a different way of reading, in the sense, he doesn’t start with the intention of finishing it. He admits to reading 6-7 books at a time while reading bits and pieces of each depending on his inclination... different ways of reading but both effective nonetheless. The other parts are spot on: reading for at least an hour if not more per day etc etc
This is exactly what I do! I’ve always taken notes in the margins, I’ve always made a little note of what was going on in my life in the front of the book before I started it and I’ve always made a note in the back of the book of what I thought about the book, a mini review of sorts. Who knew that Bill Gates does the same thing! By the way, my wife always gets crazy that I write all through my books. She has to keep everything very clean and organized, no writing, no dog ears, etc. Definitely sharing this video with her ha ha
Lol I have a advice for you bitches XD Go out watch Dan Lok and Dan Peña, better stop making excuses. Do something singificant, change the world but it requires money. People like you never fails to piss me off while I'm trying to learn out something from them.
I am Japanese. I can’t write English well. I would like to ask a question. What kind of person is Bill Gates in the USA? In Japan He is known for establishing Microsoft and one of the richest people
He is seen as mostly non-partisan and as the quintessential billionaire. (He does have views on wealth inequality that may be described as progressive, but in my view he is very much a capitalistic-minded person and he doesn't lean too much in any one ideological direction). Compared to all the really famous American billionaires (Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Michael Bloomberg, etc.) he seems to have little to no political ambitions. He is a major figure in reforming the U.S. primary education system (but he hasn't been effective). Similar to Steve Jobs, Bill Gates is known to be a businessman that will do anything to succeed (you can look up his relationship with Paul Allen for more on that). Overall, he isn't a very public figure (in contrast to Steve Jobs who had more of a public persona and is still held in overly gratuitous admiration by the American public at large) and that may have started in 2000 when he stepped down from his role as CEO of Microsoft and stayed as the chairman of its board of directors. He is a public figure in American society, but he appears to purposely keep a balance so as to not be too public.
People here commenting on his looks and appearance. This man, along with a handful of other super innovators, has altered the course of human history through technology and has touched more people's lives in a positive way through his philanthropy and charity than most of us would set our eyes on in our lifetimes.
The people who do these things don't focus their minds on petty things like appearance. It sounds supercillious, but Einstein had the same clothes for everyday of the week. So they must be doing something right.

I prefer hardcover books. I love the whole experience of the weight of it and the smell of the pages. I don't finish every book especially if it's not as enjoyable or informative as I anticipated. I am inspired now to read at least an hour a day.

Watching inside bills brain on Netflix, you realize just how much of a bookworm he is by the bag he carries around with him, pre picked / packed by his assistant. His reading list is very broad. I think a proficient reader can go a lot faster with paper than an e-book or an audio book, and information absorption will be much higher.
Can, but don't want to. I can actually read far faster than I do (proven on one class test during studies when I've got highest mark while needing less than half time we had (one whole page was just long text with gaps so I've done it in no time), but I don't find it pleasurable.
Nemo TheEight depends on the content IMO: I don’t read much fiction, but when I do i would want to read slowly to enjoy, I read autobiography’s mostly for facts and self improvement, I generally speed through the drawn out stories and to the crux of each learning. A number of autobiography’s literally repeat the 1st chapter multiple times too.
It takes 10 minutes to read a book: Last cover page, Table of content, Last 5 pages, And then find the 5 to 10 pages in the book that elaborate on the substance of the book. Is valid for all books, novel, essay, scientific stuff.
I read a lot too, almost always non fiction. But in so many cases, I never read a book in it's entirety, simply because I look for specific chapters, ideas and insights, and once I have found what I seek, or get a pretty good idea of what the book is trying to accomplish, I stop reading. Do I speak for a lot of people out there?

Well he makes notes to check the ideas. Can't blame him for answering a question. What did you expect literature absorbing techniques had mysteriously become greatly leveled up from ancient times or something? You comment seems irrelevant after some thought.
I know how it is when you come across a thing you disagree and then it takes longer to finish. With stories is different because the author takes you to the journey the reader decides to make when it starts reading the book. With this video, I've been confirmed what I was thinking: that Bill Gates reads books turning page after page, like any other human being! :-)
well said this content has improved my reading habit, more like a fuel hahaha .
hello dear how are you doing today?
Great points here! I never like to NOT finish books... even if I hate it. hahaha
Then you have never read textbooks.
I agree with you! There’s something about finishing a book to completion, even if you didn’t enjoy 1% of it, that feels empowering. Like, I can get through anything! Haha : )

Good that he isn't an Bill ionaire

Sometimes when i read a book i always deep analyze words by words in that particular page if i think I don’t get it enough. Which resulted to me reading one page for a kinda long amount of time. But that gave me the feel of satisfaction then just skipping it. Skipping it makes me feel so wrong and incomplete 🤣
sameee here... but kinda of that's not very effective cus what the author means probably by a sentence not the words that make up it...
Spoiler, he reads them on the island.
😂😂😂 The island story shattered his public image so bad that he can't recover from it anymore!!
wasn't uncle bill supposed to read 100 books a year?
50
70 books a year
PyMike nice profile picture.!!!

That’s why windows 10 still doesn’t work properly - his still taking notes...
Ronnie Meagher don't worry, bill Gates never starts anything he can't finish by his own admission.
Mine works just fine.

The other parts are spot on: reading for at least an hour if not more per day etc etc
true. there are no universal ways or methods that you must follow. everyone is kind of different and you have to find your way that most suits you!
He reads books by licking the pages from top to bottom
Sounds gay to me then.

Hahaha 🤣
Damn you just murdered one of the richest people in the world
I’d laugh but that’s kinda sad 😔
This is exactly what I do! I’ve always taken notes in the margins, I’ve always made a little note of what was going on in my life in the front of the book before I started it and I’ve always made a note in the back of the book of what I thought about the book, a mini review of sorts. Who knew that Bill Gates does the same thing! By the way, my wife always gets crazy that I write all through my books. She has to keep everything very clean and organized, no writing, no dog ears, etc. Definitely sharing this video with her ha ha
so have you become bill gates haha. I think literature professors do that I lot and ask their students' to do that.😂

I am Japanese.
I can’t write English well.
I would like to ask a question.
What kind of person is Bill Gates in the USA?
In Japan He is known for establishing Microsoft and one of the richest people
that's all he is here as well.
he also donates a lot to charities and funds scientific research
He is known here for having the largest penis anatomically in history
gle goo his organization has helped my country India in eradication of polio disease and I adore him for that
In USA he's the most intelligent person...
I like how Bill Gates knows he's really smart but at the same time knows he can learn a lot more than what he already knows.
Sign hes bright....

I don’t know whether I should say this or not but whenever I see him, I just feel the urge of starting a new book. Don't know why.
Different people have different reading habits. I'm reading multiple books at once..
It's like watching a different TV show depending on what you're into that night.
You do you Bill, much love though! :)
Finally, not a conspiracy theorist
I prefer hardcover books. I love the whole experience of the weight of it and the smell of the pages. I don't finish every book especially if it's not as enjoyable or informative as I anticipated. I am inspired now to read at least an hour a day.

Yes
Can somebody please explain what that means?
It takes 10 minutes to read a book:
Last cover page,
Table of content,
Last 5 pages,
And then find the 5 to 10 pages in the book that elaborate on the substance of the book.
Is valid for all books, novel, essay, scientific stuff.
Ohhh!!!
Can you please elaborate
The music is really disturbing during his conversation
I read a lot too, almost always non fiction. But in so many cases, I never read a book in it's entirety, simply because I look for specific chapters, ideas and insights, and once I have found what I seek, or get a pretty good idea of what the book is trying to accomplish, I stop reading. Do I speak for a lot of people out there?
Interesting.
Now, ask Trump this question.
I don't read no books.
Trump was actually known to read books from time to time, he awakes at five in the morning, as he has for decades of his life, to read the New York times thoroughly, he has also been known to read other newspapers, generally business-related ones. Trump may be no Einstein, but he certainly is a very intelligent man, a master manipulator at that.
@Feynk You nailed it. That's exactly how Trump would answer this question.

1. I don't want to finish the book because I can't have enough of it because it's so good.
2. I don't want to finish the book because I don't agree with the author.
How does he choose what books to read???? This is the important question
hes not very smart so most of the time he just reads comics. if he reads an actual book he decides by its shiny, colorful cover
