Very useful content Lydia. I would add, straight-leg jeans (Agolde 90's pinch waist or Levis 501) paired with ballet flats, a white T-shirt, and a blazer -You can't go wrong.
Thank you! I appreciate all of your videos. They help me with my styling tremendously. I think my camera roll is filled 90% with pictures of your outfit inspirations 😊
Your Hair!! You look young and fresh!!! I know you like looking “classic” but sometimes this type of more relaxed young look is great! Specially as you’ll have the rest of your life to look “older”
I’m a total fashionista but as I get older my own classic style just comes through. Glad I held onto my ballet flats they are just a classic esp with the strait clam digger black pants
Thank you for shining the light on how to make ballet flats look chic! I was so inspired that I have just purchased a pair of Chanel classic flats. Please do some styling with jeans and summer outfits as it is already summer where I live❤
I have always found it super difficult to style ballet flats because I feel like a child or too girly but this helps out so much and has me sparking with outfit ideas. Thank you!
I'm so happy ballet flats are are trend this year. I absolutely detest high heels, so ballet flats have always been my go-to, but styling them can be a bit tricky, especially if you are shorter like me. Thank you for this great video. You've given me quite a few new outfit ideas to pair with all my ballet flats this year.
Thank you SO much Lydia! I was about to purchase some flats earlier this week but paused as I wasn’t sure how to style. Your videos are always aligned with my curiosities. Thank you ❤
Thank you so much for the video! I've always found your videos and shorts incredibly helpful and practical. One suggestion from an audience is that it will be great if you could show more of the outfit clips wile you are talking them through. It will be hugely helpful to understand your point with those clips playing. I sometimes have a hard time following because I don't have the images in front of me.
Your tips are so good. I love wearing long skirts in spring/summer so I might try your first tip with ballet flats. Also loving the outfit with the cigarette trouser and the leather trouser!
Yes, I'm a ballet flats girl and the contrasting helps tone down the feminine feel of it. Will explore updating my bottoms with more utilitarian pieces. In the future would you be able to feature Dos and Dont's for Espadrille Wedges? Thank you, Lydia! :)
Thanks so much Lydia. I was looking forward to get some lessons on that item. I bought one pair last spring and I was struglinig a lot how to wear them
Hi Lydia. Thanks for sharing the secret of how to make ballet flats look stylish! 👍 I love this type of shoes but always have a problem combining them with my outfits.
Very useful thanks. Being 5.9, I am pleased that ballet flats are back. Would love advice on kitten heels and where to find affordable ones as having trouble as I do love a heel but can’t take too high
Last autumn I bought several pairs of second hand ballet flats. But then it got colder and I have been wearing my boots for months now. The weather is getting better and I look at the flats: why did I buy those? 🧐🧐 so good timing for this video 😃😃
You are amazing. Helping me so much building my wardrobe again after getting distracted for some years as a mom:) Can you do a loafer video? I want a white pair, but don't have a brown pair. I'm wondering which to invest in now. Especially if I should go for white or brown. And if you can give some various options, as many are sold out in the videos you have already done!!!! thanks. Also a good white bag that you recommend in different price points. Thanks so much. You are so helpful. Keep up the good work.
So happy you did this video. I love ballet flats. I tend to wear them with cropped pants. I have four pair of really nice leather ones by vionic , they have arch supports and are super comfortable.
Oooooooh, the best ways I've seen to style ballet flats yet! Quite honestly I hated these shoes the first time they were trendy in the 00s and still have an aversion to them, but the black ones with the straps are quite cute. On me they just look like children's shoes/way too feminine, I've always balanced out my looks with structured/masculine shoes 😅
Thanks for all the shopping recommendations on flats here, too. I have been wanting a replacement pair and other than Flattered, hadn't found any that looked well-made + comfortable (so many are made too small and with no real attention to foot shape).
I just love these types of videos with examples and explanations of what works and what doesn't. I live in a hot climate and spring means shorts. What are your thoughts on shorts and ballet flats? I tend to wear shorts with a 10inch inseam as my legs are not my best feature. I know heels can work well with shorts, but I can't walk in 2-3 inch heels during a 10 hour day. How can we make shorts look stylish when high heels aren't an option?
Thank you for vlogging abt ballet flats! ❤️ Im still work in progress and watching ur vlog has been really helpful!!! Im now more conscious in the pieces I buy 😊 now my husband dont understand why it's taking me weeks/months to look for shoes/pants & when i say "im finding the 'perfect' pair" 😂 but, really, thanks for ur vlogs 🥰
Please do a video on boucle jackets… they’re having a moment and I have always loved the slightly grunge fabric but the beautiful classy silhouette…been wanting to invest in one.. so plz, also cover the boucle blazers, etc
@@justinebarton2931 I actually found that Lydia did short video on styling chunky loafers 😉 but I'd love to see some more examples also with skirts and dresses😁
I love this but will stash away for May because the ground is covered in snow 😱 love seeing all the options though, will save for when "spring" finally hits Toronto
I have the arket ones which were very discounted on zalando back in October last year and I have worn loads since then! Such an interesting shape! I llve the wider tip!
If you love flats you should have a look at Josefinas. They’re a portuguese brand, they’re handmade and the quality is amazing. I have 3 pairs (one of them i used on my wedding).
Thank you for your tips, Lydia! They’re so useful. Would you recommend pairing ballet flats with a mini skirt? Or is an ankle-skimming skirt the best type to pair with ballet flats? Thanks!
Hi Lydia, could you do a video about how to style different trouser lengths? I have this pair of straight navy blue trousers that almost hit the top of my feet. But I’m not sure if they’re flattering on me, or I should get them hemmed. Love love love your videos!! Thank you! xo
Lydia, love your videos! Thanks a lot. I am torn between Chanel 19 small black/ navy and Fendi baguette (full leather in black). Both are good bags in my eyes. Which one do you prefer as a more timeless classic?
I’m wondering if you would consider having another model on here? It’s just difficult to see how things don’t look good and most of your videos because you’re so stunning and they look fantastic on you.
Hey Lydia! I was wondering what kind of skirts and dresses go with pointed ballet flats? I honestly think mid length ones but honestly don't trust my eye and can sometimes wear outdated looks then afterwards notice. So was just wanting your expert opinion 😊
I don't get the idea of looking too feminine and having to have masculine elements In an outfit. I wear jeans and pants a majority of the time. When I wear a dress, it's because it's a feminine garment and I want to look feminine!
Yes. Actually, there is a push against being "too" feminine or "too" girly." In fact, you'll hear a lot of influencers & content creators saying,"I don't really like or wear (too many) dresses or skirts." "I prefer mixing the masculine & feminine together." Sometimes it would be nice to see dresses & skirts modeled by influencers & content creators throughout the seasons.
I love the cream jacket, it makes such a lovely outfit with the black trousers.

Love the last outfit with the short jacket. Very sophisticated.

Ballet flats unfortunately are not very good for your feet and knees. It is better not to wear them too often.

This is just her style and this is really what makes her quite unique from the others. She likes mixing things up so as not to look too traditional.
Ballet flats are cute but it is the worst shoe for your spine .
They are terrible but not as bad as heels in my opinion. It seems that women will forever be stuck damaging themselves for fashion.
Agree they have no arch.
Some brands like Margaux have padded insoles and are really comfy.
Search arch support ballet flats. Vogue recently recommended ballet flats by Frankie. I have them and the support is perfect.
You can add inserts for support. They are terrible lacking support.
