Hey Coach, can you please do a breakdown on the Toronto Raptors during the playoffs? I really want to see why the Raps are struggling in the playoffs and how they can turn themselves around.
+Prince Whatley 1. He doesnt want to develop players 2. He's bad with young players 3. Only a decent coach when the talent is a top 8 team in the league. There lol
+Plague Doc lakers are not a top 8 team in the league in terms of talent, not even close. Many of the lakers are third string players, so it's no shock they were barely able to win games. The head coach will always take the blame because he's the face, but its really Mitch Kupchak that is long overdue to be fired.
gbballpl Are you stupid? He asked why Byron was fired. And I said that he's not a good coach on a bad team...sigh. Please people, read before you reply.
The stats Guy Thanks to Magic Johnson😂😂😂, becoming the new boss, D'angelo Russell was shipped off the Lakers' Island= Coach Byron Scott got his revenge SHOWTIME ERA teammates stick together !!!
Look at all the illegal screens set by the Clippers since "every team sets illegal screens" as I was told by many on the Warriors vs Rockets video LoL great breakdown of the game tho as usual Coach Nick
Coach great breakdown. I feel like the lineup of dame/cj/AC/davis/plums that you were talking about isnt used because the blazer with the most success gaurding CP3 was Harklesss. Honestly it felt like we couldnt take him out this game since his defense was so good. And you need cheif in there for similar reasons except for Blake Griffin.
Coach, do you think gathering the ball from your left helps a player to release a shot so quick? Looking at how Lillard does his pull ups. More examples are Durant's and Irving's release.
Thank you for helping me figure out why Blake Griffin's shooting form looks so weird. I knew something was off about it, but never bothered to look into it. You're totally right, he shoots on the way down. Horrid.
+lich5164four I just thought of that myself. with a great shooter just like the warriors have, the defense have to trap the shooter on the pick and roll. with a lot of shooters around nobody can help on the big guy and he is left wide open on a great position to be a playmaker. it happens only in teams that have great shooters all over the floor. and if this guy can make a move on the basket the defense usually collapse.. Nice to see plumlee making those plays. Btw, the spurs did not do that against the warriors on the regular season.. they just decided to switch the high pick&roll and leave the big guy on steph...
Hey coach, can you do a breakdown on the most sought after coaches this summer. Kevin Ollie, Luke, etc. What type offense/defense system they're most successful with.
so im thinking that having plumlee bring up the ball is the first weve seen of other teams imitating the warriors: mason in dreys role cj as klay and dame as steph thoughts?
+Brother Salomon I agree. doc rivers is one of those legends, but his resumee is really not that impressive. yet, he´s getting pass after pass whereas a guy like blatt got destroyed.
+MCFoultier I know right! Celtics saved his career. I mean he probably is a great coach to speak with if you play for the team but as far as decisions on the court he is questionable. Last year the Houston Rockets should of never beaten the Clippers in the playoffs. But somehow Doc Rivers made that possible lol
+Ben Wyner It's like asking how EVERY PLAYER that does illegal screens gets away with them. It happens quite regularly. Draymond Green is often criticized for this, for example.
CP3 will potentially have to face Lillard, Curry/Livingston, Westbrook/Parker and Irving/Lowry/whoever in the East to win the championship. He plays both ends of the floor 100% and has carried the team since Griffin has been out and even now while Griffin gets healthy. Has Doc tried to play Wes Johnson, Mbah a Moute, Rivers and Crawford more to give CP3 a rest?
You should do a breakdown on Spolstra being outcoached over the last two games. He hasn't put Wade in the post, he is putting Winslow in the corner for a spot up three, he is making his guys go under screens against Courtney Lee, Kemba, and Lin. He is also going small regardless of the opposite matchup. Winslow, Wade and Josh Richardson has had to guard 3, 7 footers at different times.(Kaminski, Zeller, and Haws) Allowing Frank Kaminski score 11 in the third quarter in game three. Not bringing a double or fronting Big Al to get him away from the post. Spolstra should be fired after game 3 and 4. It would be cool if you could break down everything from these past two games. I'm sure there is more.(this is just what I thought of off the top of my head)
I disagree Spo isn't the problem. It's been the reffing in this series. The whole series has had poor officiating however Miami was just to good for the refs and Charlotte in the first two.
interesting - you always hear People in the media calling Doc a top5 Coach. i always thought he is a ok Coach and just a bad GM, but now even Coach Nick questions his late game abilities. and those define if you are a great Coach.
nooooo coach you can't just say what you said at the end, Doc has a ring as a head coach while Stotts doesn't which obviously means that Doc is the better coach of the two!!! cmon coach!!!! obviously sarcasm
A lot of the errors that coach points out are fundamentals that are taught in high school ball. I find it absolutely incredible that professionals haven't mastered basics such as properly defending the pick n roll, making defensive switches while making sure to remain between ball and man (ensuring both are at least within your peripheral vision), committing to your defensive switch and making sure you *communicate* your commitment to your teammates - really fundamental stuff. Yet, some of these guys don't seem to have any of that down. In addition, some seem to have really poor conditioning which leads to the many mental errors and poor defense we see. Side note: Blake Griffin's post game is absolutely wackamole. Second side note: Chris Paul is the best thing the Clippers have going for them. It's a shame he's injured his hand.
Clippers are still playing without Blake, he got back at his twitches and lack of aggressiveness. He actually had gotten better at shooting, avoiding shooting downwards, but it looks like he got back at that again. It seems clearly to me that Blake is an overthinker, if something is not as natural or smooth - due to lack of playing time and training -, he tends to overthink, but that small lapse makes a lot of different when playing at this level. He didn't attack the basket enough, he settled for jumpers or stopped the ball looking for someone to pass instead of using the open lane. blake needs to play like he did in G1 but taking 20 shots instead of 10. I think Clippers will be back more aggressive in G4 though.
+Olli Järvinen That's pretty true. He is still a ridiculously good passer for his position and has the smarts to continue to play efficiently, but if he doesn't hone his game more, the volume of his production will definitely drop after a while.
+Olli Järvinen he just has to continue to find his rhythm with his jump shot. I don't think you can ever expect Blake to learn traditional post moves, he seems to determined to keep using these unorthodox moves.
Portland took Game 4. Is there anyone thinking the same with me that "Damian vs. Livingston hurts GS fans"? from a Spursfan, dk if Kerr will put Iggy on PG like they did in Game 2 vs HOU -_-
having been the Blazers fan that I am for years and having watched many, many LaMarcus Aldridge post-ups... Griffin's footwork is so atrocious that it gives me a headache. I mean, I'm not saying that LMA had the very best footwork but... Blake is just... bad...
+Chris Park Most big men in the league today don't have much a post game it's sad to see. But yeah Aldridge is one of the rare few who are good in the post.
Also, I like how the Blazers find a way to make Harkless very productive using tactics like a playmaking Plumlee, and keeping Harkless on the baseline near the rim.
I love these videos! Literally never realised basketball was such a complex game until I saw these videos.
Yup
same
It's deeper than what the stats show too. That's why coach nick is so great.
As always, best basketball breakdowns on the internet. Thanks Coach !
+Ibra a thanks! I also think I'm the ONLY breakdowns on the Internet, haha
+BBALLBREAKDOWN You should get hired as a nba coach or film director
+BBALLBREAKDOWN Check ou Coach Daniel. He makes breakdown as well
+Rayan FC who?
+Ibra a It is called bballbreakdown. Coach daniel is also quite good. You should look him up, for variety.
Clippers blew the game when they entered to Deandre in the horns set with under 2 minutes to go. Talk about a gift. Game mvp=Doc Rivers
Nice, I have no time to see the games so this keeps me up on how they were.
Lillard is such an amazing player, that 1 foot fade was insane!
Does anyone else miss the playoff sticker on the court :)
great analysis coach. these breakdowns help me understand the game even better
These videos are seriously the best!
Coach you dont know how valuable these kinda videos are to us. Thanks :) +BBALLBREAKDOWN
I'm new to the NBA and just found your channel and your breakdowns really helps me understand the game more thanks you're great!
by new I don't mean that I play it but rather following it... in case there's a misunderstanding :)
im not even a big bball fan but these breakdowns are awesome.
Hey Coach, can you please do a breakdown on the Toronto Raptors during the playoffs? I really want to see why the Raps are struggling in the playoffs and how they can turn themselves around.
+Seyon Balendran It's more about Indiana's defense more than anything else
They are one of the best backcourts in the NBA right now
your work is amazing. plz post more
Why Byron Scott was fired. Please do a video on that
+Prince Whatley 1. He doesnt want to develop players 2. He's bad with young players 3. Only a decent coach when the talent is a top 8 team in the league. There lol
+Plague Doc lakers are not a top 8 team in the league in terms of talent, not even close. Many of the lakers

gbballpl Are you stupid? He asked why Byron was fired. And I said that he's not a good coach on a bad team...sigh. Please people, read before you reply.
that vid should be considered comedy
The stats Guy Thanks to Magic Johnson😂😂😂, becoming the new boss, D'angelo Russell was shipped off the Lakers' Island= Coach Byron Scott got his revenge
SHOWTIME ERA teammates stick together !!!
Coach Nick makes education fun. I wish you were one of my teachers.
Coach can you do a breakdown of Celtics v Hawks game?
Thank you for this amazing breakdown
Are we gonna get a game 4 breakdown ofthe Hornets Heat possibly?
agreed
"Dame put in that time and dollas what it gets him"
they sleep!
Awesome breakdown!
Look at all the illegal screens set by the Clippers since "every team sets illegal screens" as I was told by many on the Warriors vs Rockets video LoL great breakdown of the game tho as usual Coach Nick
But it's true just look at Plumlee for example. Anyway if the refs are not gonna call it isn't it smart too keep doing it?
Olli Järvinen that's why I specifically said by the Clippers
Coach great breakdown. I feel like the lineup of dame/cj/AC/davis/plums that you were talking about isnt used because the blazer with the most success gaurding CP3 was Harklesss. Honestly it felt like we couldnt take him out this game since his defense was so good. And you need cheif in there for similar reasons except for Blake Griffin.

Dope analysis
3:46 Look at Reddick LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
+Alweezy That's not "Reddick" LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
imagine if bballbreakdown was featured in the next NBA2K game...
CJ & Dame were balling
Thank you for helping me figure out why Blake Griffin's shooting form looks so weird. I knew something was off about it, but never bothered to look into it. You're totally right, he shoots on the way down. Horrid.
11:30 Why would Reddick run over to Lillard like that? Were the Clippers that desperate to get the ball out of his hands?
Coach, isn't what Plumlee doing similar to Draymond Green?
+lich5164four kinda sorta barely maybe... Kinda.
+BBALLBREAKDOWN do one on how miami got cheated by the hornets in game 4 everyones talking about it
Gil Eckstein
exactly
+joshua alcazar they got cheated in game 5 too
"CJ is just a bad man."
I thought this when I was watching the game that C.J McCallum has the almost same play style as Jamal Crawford
Clips in 5
epic vid coach
Let's get a breakdown of Game 5 of the Raptors/Pacers series
CP3 has always caused problems for dame on both ends. that's in part why I don't think the blazers can win this series
+A.R. Smith With how the clippers usually choke anything is possible lol. Apart from CP3 there's no one they can rely on to show up when it's time
+thebeast12333 Crawford n I put money on Redick every day he did have the highest 3 point percentage In the league
+thebeast12333 Blake and the truth
Charles Cooks Blake you can't be serious surely/
Yep
Hey coach, can you do a breakdown on the most sought after coaches this summer. Kevin Ollie, Luke, etc. What type offense/defense system they're most successful with.
so im thinking that having plumlee bring up the ball is the first weve seen of other teams imitating the warriors:
mason in dreys role
cj as klay
and dame as steph
thoughts?
definitely imitating the Warriors
+Gabriel Toledo makes sense. you better copy the best in whatever way you can because they're doing something right
CJ is a pure scorer, Klay is a pure jumpshooter...
Pretty sure Draymond can't dribble he's always losing the ball
clippers are probably the most head-scratch-inducing team in the league
Idk lakers are very head scratching to me. Especially the coach. But I agree wit ya
Lillard reminds me of Kevin Johnson in the sense that they're both really really good but so underrated. Kj isn't even a HOF smh
Hi coach ! Can you make a quick video with Ty Lue ATO'S vs Pistons ?
Because it works to perfection !
What are your thoughts on thon maker coach? My celtics should take a chance on him with one of our 95 picks.
+Ramsey Rosario HAHAHAHA
Clippers has so much talent on that team. No way this should happen. I'm thinking they needs new coach
I'm thinking that you need a new English teacher
+Brother Salomon
I agree. doc rivers is one of those legends, but his resumee is really not that impressive. yet, he´s getting pass after pass whereas a guy like blatt got destroyed.
+7xhunterx I could care less what you think. As long as you understand the point
+Brother Salomon Put Spolstra in the same category. Average coach carried by a super team.
@2:00 How is that an assist ? Lilliard took 3 dribbles before shooting.
Were's my HD???? :(
Coach can you talk about the Pacers and rapters series and how it's tied? :)
wow, just watched plumlee set a disgusting amount of illegal screens, not sure how he got away with all those...
i mean, they're playing against CP3's team...
+Ben Wyner It's like asking how EVERY PLAYER that does illegal screens gets away with them. It happens quite regularly. Draymond Green is often criticized for this, for example.
Frekidee Eh... every team in the league does it and get away with it quite often.
C'mon Coach Nick, let me get that Cavs breakdown
CP3 will potentially have to face Lillard, Curry/Livingston, Westbrook/Parker and Irving/Lowry/whoever in the East to win the championship. He plays both ends of the floor 100% and has carried the team since Griffin has been out and even now while Griffin gets healthy. Has Doc tried to play Wes Johnson, Mbah a Moute, Rivers and Crawford more to give CP3 a rest?
+William Trieu Cp3 has always played alot of minutes. Honestly surprised he's not been injured alot.
his turning 31 in a few days
+Plague Doc oh the irony
Freak injury, same as Steph's
Please do a video analysis of Golden state with and without curry now he will likely miss a few games
@bballbreakdown
Miesha THE GOAT Tate i don't believe your second comment but let's hope he's out so king james can lose in the finals to SA instead
8:06 , i thought that blazers challenge clippers to pass it to blake and let him shoot 3 cause he won't get it it.
like the final line of the video. Scotts > Doc?
Hey coach if you could do a video about the incredibly poor refereeing in the Miami-Charlotte series that would be great.
would you say they're taking a page from the Warriors by having plumlee bring up the ball?
why dont the blazers pass out t shirts for fans to wear for playoff games anymore? it sets a nice vibe for home court
Coach has a cold
You should do a breakdown on Spolstra being outcoached over the last two games. bradynewf96 I mean, Richardson should be switched onto Spencer Haws though...

Tip slam? Say putback dunk fam lol
DAMMMMM LIIII
You should do a video on if Kristaps Porzingas is over or underrated
+Da Ga over/under rated is an opinion based thing. So cant do that. Also Kristaph is easily the second best rookie this year.
Made lucky shots, that's about it #ClippersIn5
Cavaliers Owned Larriors 3-1 lol
Remember NBA this is fair use.
Mason Plumee next Draymond Green (providing improved ball handling) ?
+T. Lau idk if he has the ability/coordination to improve his ball handling to draymonds skill level
wheres the celts hawks series?
+Justin Park started it, but ran out of time yesterday 🙁🙁🙁
That sucks that CP3 and Griffin can't play the next game.
I wish Blake would fix his ugly jumper and get some proper post moves. If he doesn't his last years in the league are not gonna be too great
+Olli Järvinen That's pretty true. He is still a ridiculously good passer for his position and has the smarts to continue to play efficiently, but if he doesn't hone his game more, the volume of his production will definitely drop after a while.
He was getting good at that midrange jumper before his injurys and he used to have actually okay handles pre injury
+Olli Järvinen he just has to continue to find his rhythm with his jump shot. I don't think you can ever expect Blake to learn traditional post moves, he seems to determined to keep using these unorthodox moves.
Charles Cooks Yeah, maybe that's just who he is at this point. The future will certainly be interesting.
Is it just me or does Harkless need to work on that footwork when playing D on CP3. Like go back to the basics footwork.
Antenencoumpo or McCollum for MIP?
Oh
+k robertson or kemba
McCollum already won
CJ won & it's Antetokounmpo
Who won last year? I feel like Whiteside really deserved it and if he won, I'd agree with that decision.
Portland took Game 4. Is there anyone thinking the same with me that "Damian vs. Livingston hurts GS fans"? from a Spursfan, dk if Kerr will put Iggy on PG like they did in Game 2 vs HOU -_-
+Ryan Yu Iggy can lock down 3 positions. He should get more minutes with Curry out.
+hajime2k You got a point. Anyway let's see if Clippers hang on in Game 5 first :)
having been the Blazers fan that I am for years and having watched many, many LaMarcus Aldridge post-ups...
Clippers losing this series is impossible, Lillard and Maccollum were making ridiculous shots all game. Not happening again.
+linkxp notfromhyrule bet you're regretting that impossible call now buddy
+xPeking Duk No I don't, Cp3 just broke his and Blake Griffin is still injured... I'm ok with losing under these circumstances buddy
2nd*
#blazersbackcourt
ugh wanted to be the first
5th
4th
1st
First, Draymond Green, then Giannis Antetokounmpo, and now Mason Plumlee?? Man, everyone's turning into PGs these days.
Also, I like how the Blazers find a way to make Harkless very productive using tactics like a playmaking Plumlee, and keeping Harkless on the baseline near the rim.
