Neat old dozer. I liked hearing the story behind it. He's got a really nice looking collection of Mini Mos. Stay safe.

      Not a dozer. It's a track shovel.
They could lift unlike dozers but had no balls to really push or pull.

I always enjoy watching Classic Tractor fever....This is episode to date....is my personal favorite! 👍 the other week on Machinery Pete, there was a video of Aumann auctions selling a Minneapolis Moline combine at auction in Francisville Indiana....l wondered if Dick ended up with that?

Ya know, if my grandfather had that crawler in June of 1958, I'd imagine my life would be fairly different. My father watched his dad get killed on a JD tricycle tractor with a scrape blade on the back while spreading dirt on the backside of our farm pond. The reason the tractor flipped was the tricycle arrangement caused the tractor to get over centered when his down hill rear tire sunk into a soft spot in the dam, he felt it going over and tried to jump clear but instead of jumping clear, his leg or foot must have gotten caught because he ended up jumping downhill instead and the tractors steering wheel came to rest on the base of his skull snapping his neck instantly. My father grew up after that with a great deal of trauma and sadly to say, wasn't able to mentally mature much past that age because of it. When I was born, our family had 2 large farms, 4,000 acres in south Georgia and 2,000 acres in middle Georgia and my father never once worked them, all he seemed to know how to do was sell it off and usually blow the money leaving us with just 80 acres and a fair amount of debt when he died.

Such a shame that so many track shovels went for scrap. In many cases they had nothing wrong but rotted on farms.

Why did they not have a Diesel engine. Seems like a gas engine would be horrendously expensive.

    • @ChiefAUS

When they built this one in 1958 gas was cheap. Not what it costs now.

It took a long long time to convince farmers to switch over. Gas was economical and it worked. If it ain’t broke....

It's just too bad they had to go behind Caterpillar's back and use thier parts father undercarriage on the crawlers

Collectors - other name is egoists... like to see old tractors but always feel sad to see all those nice old tractors get stuffed away by some egoist when they could be put to use by some persons who need some smal old cheep tractor.
