Yeah, i think you got it at the end of the video, fang shield would have helped a ton, not that i remembered it myself whilst watching.
Anyway, I think fire on the stormcallers was a bad pickup. Its not much damage, and he had 2 units of chaff. Kinda hard to judge though, given none of the missiles actually hit after you picked it up.

You're a better player than me by MMR (I was about 1k before I stopped playing around the chaos update,) but I have Strong Opinions about this game anyway, so here you go: I think the problem you ran into this game was overcommitting to stopping something your opponent wasn't doing. Like when the first free unit choice came up, you wound up going for the badger, anticipating that your opponent would build some chaff like a sane person. But I've noticed a lot of players around our level still sometimes just... don't. Especially when they win early rounds. So you indexed really hard into stopping the correct play, despite the fact that your opponent had shown no indication so far they were gonna play anywhere near correctly.
On top of that, I think that even by the time that choice was offered, they were already way behind in the chaff game. Even if they had done what they should and had bought chaff there, I don't think you really needed anything dedicated to taking it out yet. You had mustangs already, which were a bit too far back, but still. If the battle stalls, they'll take care of chaff. And on top of that, stormcallers countered everything they already had on the board other than sledges, and would help against chaff on top of that. I feel like I'd take either crawlers or phoenixes, buy two stormcallers and a fang, and then just keep spamming fangs and an occasional phoenix until they start building chaff themselves. And I'd probably sell the mustangs to tech shields on the fangs. If you do this, I think you've got such a tempo advantage early they just can't snowball and will be left with a bunch of hard countered units, and the longer they wait, the worse it'll get. And you're still fairly flexible with that setup, so they don't really have a clear path to punish.
But I am not a good player, so gigantic grain of salt lol

There is but it's really hard to pull off and also really relies on your enemy starting ability. It's usually mixed with iron balls and wasps, iron balls to kill bigger stuff and wasps for anti air

He could have gone mass mustangs as well with interceptor realistically just due to the large amount of investment you made into stormcallers
