I don't think smoke works as a good in SOCOM 3 as it does in combined assault
Yeah, in 3 it seems like enemies can still spot you through the smoke, as if they've got thermal goggles on or something. But in Combined Assault, you pop smoke and it's doomsday for anyone unfortunate enough to be in the area.

You need more close quarter combat, night vision use, and upgrade armory.
