    to erase the USB/SD use RPi imager, it works really well and even saved me a few sd cards that weren't recognized anywhere else.

      Yeah, the same thing happened to me.

      Etcher does seem to have a tracking problem and their responses as to why are really unsatisfactory, at which point they mark the issue as “closed” (see the discussion under pull requests on github).
      That being said, Idk what the situation’s like for RPi imager but one would hope it’s better...

    I love your videos always watch when I see new ones. If it is possible show us how to add OS's not in list or add OS's without overwriting current ones. If there is a manual way.

      Thanks! I’ve been trying to figure that out for a while but I haven’t been successful yet.

    If you think you might want to use any of the utilities in future (e.g. to replace them with future OS offerings), wouldn’t it be sensible to install it from the first install? Otherwise you’ll end up reinstalling everything as new any time you want to add something in future? Like what you mentioned at 07:30

      Yeah, good point. I misstated that:D

    After spending days with BerryBoot not allowing my installs to connect to my wifi and modifying the wpa_supplicant.conf file not working, I gave Pinn OS a try. Right away, it allowed me to use the WPS button and it put me on wifi immediately. My question is this: can I add standard Linux distros to Pinn OS, or must they be a compressed version, like BerryBoot uses?

    • @Lukes-Tech
      @Lukes-Tech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly, it’s very complicated to add a custom OS to PinnOS, I personally don’t know how to..

  • @PilotAtInception
    @PilotAtInception 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    PINN OS enables you to update each OS when the official OS maintainers publish their updates, whereas with BerryBoot you have to wait ‘til the BerryBoot maintainer applies those updates for any of the OSes

    • @Lukes-Tech
      @Lukes-Tech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good point!

    • @PilotAtInception
      @PilotAtInception 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is also a “replace OS” function that enables you to update individual OSes to their latest versions (so long as the size remains within the same partition size), without affecting any of the other OSes installed.
      There’s also a “reserve space” function for storing OSes in a small, reserved partition for future use.
      All in the readme

      @@sergiol5392 I tried to create one myself (there are instructions in the PINN readme, under the advanced usage section) but unfortunately my system didn’t have enough memory available to complete it so I don’t know how successfully it might work for whichever distro.

    15th September 2023 I setup the latest pinn on my RPI 4B 8GB model. I installed severall os , then I selected one to boot that works ok. but when I reboot it will go straight into the first os I setup and doesent show me a bootloader where i can select the other OS this is so annoying.
    MY setup is one SD card with the os on it. what am I doing wrong?

    These multi boot systems are real time wasters. They quickly rack up errors and are just not suited for day to day use. And no its not my equipment. So before we leap into these vids a little homework plz!

    • @Lukes-Tech
      @Lukes-Tech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well, actually I’ve been using Pinn OS since May and have had no problems. Pinn OS is different then berryboot because it creates a completely new partition for each OS. I don’t think I need homework because I would call myself a experienced user with Pinn OS.
