As someone who grew up within earshot of 10:08 (waking up to a jake brake in the early hours isn't as fun as it sounds), it's amazing how much the whole area has changed. When I was a kid, I-85 through Gaston County was all two-lane highway with a grassy median. Everything was still made of the noisy concrete blocks (within earshot) that were surprisingly good as a lullaby too. The Cox Road onramp to SB 85 was really steep since the offramp to the Aberdeen Blvd bridge (10:46) was still in use, or recently abandoned but still visible. I later learned that before my time this was the end of I-85 where all traffic was funneled over to US-74. Before I found this out, I had always wondered why Eastridge Mall had its own exit ramp from 74. I remember how much of a pain it was when they were widening this stretch of highway to what it is now. When it opened back up with 3 lanes, it didn't take very long for the traffic to start to back up again. I went through there a few months ago and couldn't believe what has happened to the I-85/US-321 interchange though!
Cool video NC Mike. I-85 has always been one of my favorite interstates since it runs through Charlotte, Atlanta, and Greensboro. Love how you can see a plane flying over I 85 about to land at Charlotte Douglas International Airport
Love that you redid this route, but even better and longer. The camera footage is also much cleaner and smoother. It’s perfect. Are there plans to redo other stretches of road with 4K 60fps that you’ve already done like this one?

You could see that in College Park Georgia too since ATL is the BUSIEST airport in the world

Yeah I’ll likely remake some of the older videos in the area with better quality.
