Idk axial flow has been around since the 70s so I'm pretty sure it's doing something right if it's been around for that long

Kevin, actually, while the other brands lack an open grate top half, there is still threshing across the entire 360 deg surface. What you should specify, is the fact that only Gleaners have a complete 360 deg SEPARATION.
I have long understood the significance of narrow vs. wide feeder house designs, too. Just look at a popular other leading brand. They wrote the book on narrow [and also very short] feeders. Their equalizer was chain speed and slat design. It worked very well. So does yours.

Then why don't you send massy combines out with the "natural flow"..... not knockin gleaner but in greem stemed soy beans our 9770 deere with an F35 will out run my brother in laws class 9 gleaner with same size cut, while maintaining less damage and loss!? Also figure the surface area of the rotor not just the width, not much of a pinch point.

Ole mate is a bit out with his axial flow diagram.

Why does it need so much more power then? Answer, it has to change the crop mats direction and force it to do so...more power and parts wear, also.

He tries to make the axial flow design look worse by making the opening to the rotor really skinny. The feeder opening is 50-55 inches and the rotor opening is 27-33 inches. That it more than half the size of the feeder opening.
What he doesn’t tell you is that when using natural flow, you replant your field behind the combine.

Dumb comment. I've operated both & I believe the Gleaner to be no worse than anything else & possibly a lot better grain loss wise.
