    Excellent video! Great to see other California natives move to Ohio. I was born & raised in Los Angeles. Moved from San Francisco to Cleveland. Love it here! Would do it again in a heartbeat.

    Whats cool about Ohio is they do have some really cheap houses( though they're not always in great areas), really cheap car insurance.

    I'm originally from Utica, NY (near Syracuse) so I'm very familiar with snow and lake effect. That is just way too much snow.... Cleveland is still a tad bit too much really.....BUT it has so much to offer. I currently live in Portland, OR which is ok if you can afford a $450k home in a neighborhood with homeless camps in it. Or all you want to do is hike and camp. While I love the outdoors I like civilization too and it's just boring honestly.....even our coast (while beautiful) you can't actually use it because the water is so cold and dangerous. Food scene took a huge crap too after COVID. We had some of the strongest restrictions in the US for a very long time. Also Portland never really had "comfort food" it's always been more gourmet high-end places and food trucks that still cost alot of $$. So when COVID made grab and go type food the only thing you could get and the city doesn't have much of that.....our food scene died with it. Now it's just average maybe slightly above average....but something as simple as pizza is awful. What I'd consider a medium they call and extra large and it'll be $25+ and will be thick, doughy, and bland.
    Give me snow over this any day.

    I’ve thought about moving to Cleveland. Seems like the jobs pay almost as much as they do here in Washington State but the cost for housing is way lower. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to afford a house if I stay in this state. On the other hand, I lived in Maine for 5 years and not 100% sold on going back to cold winters again.

    • @citystarridin
      @citystarridin ปีที่แล้ว

      I live in WA state as well and some of the jobs actually do pay as much. My cousin works at a Target distribution center near Springfield and makes $26 an hour. I’m actually looking to relocate for the same reasons, I make good money in WA but I don’t think I’ll be able to buy a house. But relocating to Ohio? Very high chance of buying one and there’s a lot of upcoming work!

      Keep in mind there are plenty of rough neighborhoods around cleveland and the traffic is usually pretty terrible too. If your looking to buy a used vehicle, beware that vehicles rust out very quickly here because of the salt they use on the roads. Also, there isn't much to do in NE Ohio not enough public land IMO. Ohio is pretty boring I've lived here many many years.

    I grew up in NE Ohio, lived in SoCal for several years and are now in Denver. Good luck with those cold, cold, long-a$$ Ohio winters. Denver is super sunny during the winter which is nice, but it's starting to turn into "progressive" CA here now which is shooting up house prices. Still more affordable than SoCal, but all the Californians are coming in and jacking up prices and ruining the politics. Cannot deny those Ohio home prices though-really have to look at that and see if it for you. Hard choice if you are a super outdoorsy person like me and my wife are.

      Always have to look at the pros and cons! Chicago has even worse temperatures but it’s a very progressive city. Cleveland has and is making a lot of changes and a lot of people are beginning to move here. There’s a lot of new construction going on here. I hear you though, winters are never fun 😅 at least Denver has mountains within a 2 hour drive

    You can find better property deals in Detroit. If you want cheap properties, I would move to the Motor City. Homes are a little more pricey in Ohio.

    • @livinginnortheastohio8643
      @livinginnortheastohio8643  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you an investor? Cleveland, Akron, and Canton have a ton of affordable homes. Detroit is a lot larger than Cleveland so you'll have more housing opportunities.

    Just do you do your research, I hate to say it but depending on whatever your political affiliation is , do your homework it’s very segregated politically, there’s a few areas where there are 50-50ish splits, generally, in some of the more inner ring suburbs of the larger cities, but that’s it, otherwise either you were going to fit in very well, are you going to feel like a total outsider.

    Go to Michigan, Detroit is great, much more affordable and fun, you'll get in the best shape of your life and really feel alive. Ohio is quickly becoming like Cali and NY, rude, stupid, expensive and dark.
