That was the fun timing when I try by going back Brossard and going. And by gare centre I seen everything. 😀 🚆

Went on yesterday. The positive things I notice the REM trains give passengers a spectacular view of the down town core and Nun's Island. The ride's a bit bumpy but it's pretty quiet. I like the sound when the train arrives and open the doors. It sounds like when you used to to turn on your old Windows 95 or 98 OS on your pc. The Gare Quartier is perfectly located for me if I want to go to the Odeon movie theatre instead of Guzzo on Taschereau. The negative things I notice there is still quite a few bugs to to work out with the 90 minute delay during rush hour the first day I wasn't affected as I went in earlier. Hope this isn't going to be an ongoing problem with the new light rail system. One thing I have to say about the Panama bus Terminal while it's great that there's bathrooms available if you need to go but waiting in line for your bus especially if you're elderly there is no seating and the agents and security don't seem to know what they are doing when you ask them for directions. And it didn't make much sense that they didn't enclose the corrider from the terminal to the REM station, fine for summers but winters are going to be problematic. Last thing I'll say the REM stations did have seating facilities but I didn't see any escalators though.

Wow! The REM has much wider station spacing than the existing Montreal Metro. It looks similar in design to the Vancouver Skytrain which also uses driverless trains and has wide station spacing, except that the Skytrain system is almost 40 years older than the newly opened REM. About time Montreal caught up to Vancouver; a city that has less than half of Montreal’s population, yet has a better and longer transit network.

Fantastic video Pat, I must say that congested hi-rise condo section alongside the tracks downtown is quite an overbuilt hi-rise jungle !!! I've read that residents who live in those hi-rise condos are complaining about the noise the REM trains make as they pass very close by. Question is, what sort of sound reduction measures will actually work ?

Yes, exactly there have been a few complaints. I guess not much can be done unless you put a big covering over the tracks like a tube the train can go through. Yes, it is overbuilt indeed. Way too many buildings in that sector and Montreal in general. Thanks for watching!
