A lot of departments with full paid time workers usually get a newer station because the firefighters are expected to be there most of the time waiting for calls and there needs to be facilities in the department that will meet their standards while they are on their shift. Many smaller volunteer departments are almost like a big garage but that works for them because the volunteer firefighters are not there all the time 24/7, getting paid, and doing shifts.
You're department sure has some great looking stations and rigs to go along with the great scenery. Got to love the fire pole. Had the pleasure of getting to slide down a fire pole at a station my friend use to work at when they received a run.
Thanks you for the amazing videos! Hands down love the station tours as well as the equipment and vehicle tours. Keep up the station tours as well as the other elements. Thanks for the videos and your service. Stay healthy and safe!
That is a good looking station. Big, roomie and spacious. I like it. We have a few new stations here in Gwinnett County Ga. that I’m sure have some of those things but maybe not all. But I just enjoy seeing you stations and hearing about ur area. It’s really cool. Stay safe out there. You and all first responders are in me and my family’s thoughts and prayers every day.
Beautiful brand new Firehouse :) very well laid out design and this Lt is very knowledgeable about everything in this station with good descriptions about every room, its function, and how it benefits the whole team :) Excellent experience :) Thanks Lt Bjork
Hi South Metro! Just wanted to thank your department for sending me a commemorative patch and informational letter in the mail, it was very interesting to learn more about your organization. I will always be subscribed to your channel and I am grateful that I now have something apart of your department that I can keep forever. Thank you for your service and thanks again for the letter and gift! 🚒🧯👍🏻
Very nice video. I've been in a few fire stations, but none have been as nice as this. Of course, it is a newer station. They all had different layouts, but mostly the same stuff. When I saw the 3 fridges I thought that was odd and then I saw the 4th. I figured the 3 together were for the different shifts...hopefully that cuts down on food "stealing". I've heard some stories about that sort of thing and paybacks. The communal fridge makes good sense. Thank you for showing us your station, Lt Bjork.
That is a very nice station...what I would like to see is he Lt. go down the pole with a cup of coffee he said, "if you are good enough you can slide down the pole with a cup of coffee in your hand"
I liked this station Saturday style of video where the trucks are shown but, if you want to see detail click on the link. That's cool! I watch your channel even though I live in Florida. I've always wanted to live in Colorado
wait... sliding down the pole after mentioning the cup of coffee and then there is no coffee? 😮😢 just kidding... interesting vid and all the best from all the way once across the ocean 😁
Noticed this when you changed it, but never got round to asking. why was the channel name changed, from ending with PIO to Centennial, CO. Was it to be more formal for your 100k plaque or...?
I’m just curious I want to become a firefighter and I wear glasses how will that work, most guys I see on the academy have no glasses and I’m concerned ,By the way great video!!!
Station 34 is in the bag and has a roughly 1 in 26 chance to be the next station selected for October. The video take time to make, so right now they are being released roughly once a month. That means all the stations will be featured by the end of 2022 at the current release rate.
You should invest in a wireless mic for those that are speaking. When you turn the camera away from them, it's really hard to hear what they are saying.
I have zero experience with anything firefighting and don’t know any firefighters. Is this typical for a fire station or is this like the Taj Mahal of fire stations?
This is typical for a new fire station built within the past few years for a department that has full-time firefighters. There are a lot of fire departments with fire stations that are older and smaller, especially in communities that have been around for a long time. Some fire departments that use volunteer firefighters may have fire stations are pretty much just large garages and an office with some storage space. The south Denver Metro area has seen explosive growth and much of the area that South Metro covers now were open fields just 50 years ago. South Metro has a lot of newer fire stations because of that growth, but they have some fire stations that are older that they will get to show once they are selected from the bag.
Awesome station and great video. Quick question, what’s the purpose of having the radio on you and on while walking around the station. I know the station is equipped with an alerting system like it sounded during the video. Is it personal preference or do all LT do this while walking around the station? Thanks
It means Standard Operating Guidelines which is basically instructions of what to do in different situations so that everyone within that organization can provide the same level of service across the entire organization.
It is so that he is able to quickly access his radio when needed. There are some cases where dispatch or another unit needs to reach them over the radio at anytime, and as this video shows a fire station can be quite large so it can be inconvenient to have to run to the office or truck to access a radio. It also allows him to actively listen to the radio and be aware of what is actively happening in the district which can help him advise and prepare his crew for a potential call.
This Lt seems like an excellent leader. Very focused on teamwork through, togetherness and team-based learning. Excellent video!
that is one of the NICEST fire stations i have EVER SEEN!
It's probably a newer build in a newer/wealthy suburb in the county. Super cool, love these videos.

How does Dive unit staffing work if the Engine is already out on a call? (Can the Medic also staff the Dive rig?)
The chances are probably pretty low so they might not have that issue. Especially when there are other area stations that also have dive teams.
Three seconds in im like, well no wonder no one is yelling defund the firefighters lmao yall so nice
We have the same radios at my dept.
South metro rocks
JETS GO BOI!!!!!
Hi
I guess it’s handy having a lift in the house so you can then practice rescues from lifts etc
25:59 “not one thing” lmao 😂 he’s slick
Slipped that in so well I didn't even notice it until you said, and I still took a bit to realise the meaning lol
In sweden he would be named björk. As inte the three .
For firefighters with glasses, does SMFR provide prescription safety glasses. Or do firefighters have to provide their own.
Thank you for showing me your firestation. For me as a German Firefighter it is interessting how Americans plan and build their fire station.
PLEASE start using lapel mics so the person's voice doesn't fade when you pan the camera.
any plan to get a single axle rescue truck.*I know that there is no plan to get another rescue truck
He’s sexy ... and I’m not even gay 😂
Are you sure about that
How many stations do you have please respond
I wonder if they watch Live Rescue on A&E? lol.
I’m just curious I want to become a firefighter and I wear glasses how will that work, most guys I see on the academy have no glasses and I’m concerned ,By the way great video!!!
Can the guy that sits on the bench say hello?
Can you do rescue squad please 🙏🙏
hey Conner and Eric is it possible to get a SMFR tee shirt anyway?
I enjoyed this fir the obvious reasons that Lieutenant Nick is hotttttt!!! :p
Lt Nick is my good neighbor! Lives up the street.
Does south metro have merch? Duty shirts for sale?
Can kids take a live tour?
What’s the busiest south metro station and how many calls do they average a day/ shift?
South Metro Fire Rescue - Centennial, Colorado thanks for the info!
Can you please do a station Saturday on station 34 please

This guy looks like he was bread to be a fireman haha
What was the unit outback in the parking lot ????
During the video intro IDT2 is parked in the back lot.
What happens if a dive call comes in when the engine or bus is on a run? Who staffs the dive truck?
Where is everybody?? kkk!! Really hopping to see everybody on 31! Thank you for always being there for everyone!
Luar biasa,salam dari Firefighter indonesia.
Hype for 31's!!!
this guy😂🙈 he's voice he sound's like Matt Damon
You should invest in a wireless mic for those that are speaking. When you turn the camera away from them, it's really hard to hear what they are saying.
Can we see station 19
Do they still wear gowns on known positive covid calls or do the overalls act as a substitute.

For BOAT31 shouldn't it be FB31. Most FD use Fire Boat (FB) as the Callsign
Does somebody know why he carries a radio inside the station?
