  • The bass are getting into their summer patterns already. I was able to get it done fishing shallow grass close to the bank and also isolated cover using the #strikeking Hybrid Hunter Junior. When the bite slowed down I went to my old reliable drop shot using a Roboworm and #strikekinglures drop shot Half Shell.

I don’t know I think you can learn and grow confidence in every technique. I used to hate a drop shot. Now that I’ve learned and grown confidence in it I love it.

I am out there all the time since I live very close. One of my biggest ever was one I caught a couple of days before Christmas a few years ago. There are some really nice bass out there and the little lake is very healthy.

Nice fishing! The HH is a good crank bait.

I just found the shallow version recently. They work great in shallow banks and also above grass that is just under the surface of the water.

@@castingacrosstexasfishing I still have your box of baits I haven’t sent out to you yet 😆. You’re not the only one tho, I have a friend that’s in the military and I haven’t sent his rod to his dad yet, it’s 40$ to ship that rod! Crazy! lol I’ll get your stuff to you soon I promise 🙏🏼😆.

Nice resolution bro glad to see the fish are still producing and water levels up again. How is the creek channel ? Is it back to being deep again ?

I got to about the middle of the creek. It's about 3 feet average, but super skinny so I don't go real far in my kayak.

I caught 2 fish on the HH and now it seems nothing wants to touch it.

Honestly I think 95% of bass fishing has to do with confidence in your lures. Personally I have never caught a bass on a buzz bait and yet I know they catch fish. I see it all the time. I have finally accepted that there are some baits I will never get the hang of and if I am just out to have fun what does it matter what lure I am using as long as it is getting bit. For me my 100% go to and I know it will never fail lure/technique is the drop shot. As long as you have that favorite lure you are 100% confident in you will always have fun on the water. Am I right?😃
