One of my favourite films, and this song always puts a lump in my throat. I married my lady wife in 1995 a couple of months before this was released, and I'm quite sure we saw the film at the cinema. I loved the original, and this is a great version.

I didn't know it was in a movie, but yes, the Beautiful South did do a French version too. I've got it on an old cassette. Its great in French too.

"Dream a Little Dream of Me" was recorded by Ozzie Nelson and his Orchestra with vocal by Nelson on February 16, 1931 for Brunswick Records. That February 18 Wayne King and his Orchestra with vocal by Ernie Birchill recorded the song for Victor Records. Ma Cass just ripped it off !

Glad to hear you discovered this awesome band! I've been a fan for 20 years , they are unique and one of a kind. One of the things that drew me to them were their amazing female singers, first Brianna, then Jacqui, both world class vocalists, and add to that Paul Heaton's voice and songwriting and what do you have?? A world class band!
