This is not a valid criticism of Tomlin. Most of those times when they lost their first round play off game, it was a long shot that they even made the play offs. Tomlin does an amazing job to get a bad team into the play offs, then they get exposed. It’s the roster.

To be honest with you I wish they would stop saying "The Standard is the Standard". I am a LONG time Steelers fan and the STANDARD used to be making the playoffs, winning playoff games, battling for the AFC Championship and winning Super Bowls. In the last 13 years we have made the playoffs 8 times and missed the postseason 5 times. Only 3 playoff wins coming during that 13 year period. It seems to me the "standard" is now simply trying to not have a losing season. I think Tomlin is a pretty good coach but the standard is definitely NOT what the standard used to be...
the standard hasn't changed one iota over the years, but the franchise QB long gone, the o line that he instead on stayed way too long, we don't lose so we would never get a top QB and their are misses. We can absolutely beat LV, ATL,IND, BOTH NY TEAMS (no im not worried about danny dimes or old man rodgers), DEN, an LAC team with no receiving core. 5. We’ll lose to philly since its in philly. We never beat philly in Philly 6. Considering the KC game is home, we have a fighting chance. 7. Worse case scenario we lose 5-7 games which is still a winning season 8. Tomlin has been allowed to stay as the HC off 1 SB win over a decade ago. There are no other situations like it. Even Payton and Belichick couldn't stay much longer after not winning for some time. Tomlin should mutually resign or something because the Steelers are stagnant. I would be surprised if McVay as young as he is, would remain as Rams HC for another decade without winning.

We need a bad season in Pittsburgh. By going .500 every year we end up drafting in the middle of the pack. We could use a bad year that ends with a high draft pick. Tomlin went to the Superbowl twice and had he not ran into the Goat Brady, he'd have been there even more. Y'all need to have that energy for Division Rival John Harbaugh who's had home field advantage numerous times, and coached all these Pro Bowl Players, All-Pros, MVP quarterback and Future Hall of Famers and only been to and won the Superbowl once in 16 years.
Harbaugh isn't in such a long playoff win drought. I could argue , Tomlin, Harbaugh, Peyton, are overated, and in the same boat as McCarthy. All are living off 1 super bowl win a long time ago.

Tomlin has been allowed to stay as the HC off 1 SB win over a decade ago. There are no other situations like it. Even Payton and Belichick couldn't stay much longer after not winning for some time. Tomlin should mutually resign or something because the Steelers are stagnant. I would be surprised if McVay as young as he is, would remain as Rams HC for another decade without winning.

We need a bad season in Pittsburgh. By going .500 every year we end up drafting in the middle of the pack. We could use a bad year that ends with a high draft pick. We could potentially land our QB of the future with a high draft pick.

Now they have already given up on them meanwhile all they were wishing for was a upgrade at the qb position and they did that despite how awful they may have seemed in limited action in preseason it is still a upgrade over what they had last year and they basically brought the whole team back. There is no reason why they can't go minimum .500 and have a shot to sneak into the playoffs
