1:57 I was thinking of that scene from Ted and when you put it in the video, the neighbors can def hear me laughing. THIS IS WHY we are on the HeyseanEly vlog man. Good times, great video! Have a kickass weekend :)
watching this while eating foster farms corn dogs and (checker's) fries, both air fried. i have not had fish sticks in a while, let alone Gortons. now i want gortons lol
This was so fun!! I do have some in my freezer from another brand! Random but I was cooking last night, Cajun cod and melting potatoes, and I decided to treat myself to a more relaxing cooking experience with no obstacles so I emptied the trash, took that out, did the dishes, washed the sink and loaded the dishwasher with few things. It was so nice to relax for a few minutes then cook in a clear space like that, so I really liked your dishes comment, just do it once and right :) that's been helpful even on weeknights, your future self will always thank themselves. Geez sorry for long comment, binge watching your videos today so I'm on a roll lol.
Fish sticks with Velveeta shells and cheese and some coleslaw was my jam as a kid, ketchup is good but I ate a lot of seafood as a kid so I always liked tartar sauce more with seafood even then.
Have not had fish sticks in probably 50 years. Fish Sticks with mashed potatoes and a veggie was a frequent Friday meal in our household. I've been getting Fish Filets the last few years. Gorton's Beer Battered Filets are the best.
Haven't had the fish sticks since I was a kid, but the planks/filets... absolutely! Love making a fish sando with thick cut pickles, Sriracha mayo and a dollop of coleslaw
When my sons were little ( in the 80s)… I used to give them tater tots and cut fish sticks into thirds and they gobbled it up. Couldn’t tell what was a “tade” and what was fish.🤣 (obviously discerning pallets do not run in the fam!)
My would say I’m a child at times but other then that just us and the dogs. I literally ate these for dinner a week ago. I love Gorton’s products. Clean ingredients and no fillers.
The thing I miss about Michigan is Perch, my mom used to buy Carnation frozen Perch. It came in a oblong package. It was the best! Outside of catching it yourself. We rarely had fish sticks.
ANOTHER ONE! Fish sticks probably been about 6-10 years ago. Nostalgia food item which I have had in the last couple years is HOT POCKETS. I do miss some of the school lunches we used to get (K-12), which I know a lot will think is very strange.
I haven't had fish sticks since high school but I do like Gorton's beer battered cod filets but it's been a few years since I've had them. I wish Red Lobster sold their tartar sauce in grocery stores -- maybe that would save them from bankruptcy?
We call them fish fingers in the UK mate. They make a god sando with a slice of cheese and some tartar /tommy sauce. By the way it's pronounced Glooster Cheers Seany
I’ll be in Gortons fish stick heaven tonight. But not in the oven. Cast iron on the stove top. Then onto flour tortillas with paper thin sliced red cabbage, cheddar cheese, squeezins and pleazins of lime and my own pickled jalapeño tartar sauce. Rolled up like a douche and onto hot cast iron to get down toasty brown on all sides goodnessess. More whole pickled jalapeños on the side along with a fresh bottle of Whataburger Spicy Ketchup. Swaller it all down with Czech beer for mouth and throat lubrification. This ain’t no kiddy meal. Straight up adult date night super wombat ono grindz!

Wasn’t allowed much fast food pretty much no fast food as a kid. We had a Health food, mom. But there were times when I think she must’ve just been tired so we would get the occasional frozen fish stick dinner or pot pie. I didn’t happen often, but I always liked those days when we got something sorta not healthy.-ish.
I would babysit my neighbor's kids and every time the parents told me to toaster over Gorton's fish sticks and McCain smile potato French fries. The other choice was Kid Cuisine meals (Kids frozen dinner). I can smell the nostalgia as I watch. I live in MA and never to this day have had them. Agree tho, ketchup must be cold and ONLY Heinz!
The commercialization of fish fingers may be traced to 1953 when the American company Gorton-Pew Fisheries, now known as Gorton's, was the first company to introduce a frozen ready-to-cook fish finger; the product, named Gorton's Fish Sticks, won the Parents magazine Seal of Approval in 1956.The developer of those fish sticks was Aaron L. Brody.
Hey Sean what's up? Well believe it or not I actually did the same exact thing as a kid and had it not too long ago and I'm 40 lol.. We used to add lemon on it as well. Plus isn't Tartar sauce 2 of those ingredients without horseradish?? Ketchup and lemon being the 2?? Our poor asses were trying to be fancy LOL. Take care.
Your pronunciation of Gloucester... 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️I'll let it slide. This time. LOL I trust the Gorton's Fisherman! I stock up on the tasty fishies during Lent when they are on sale. 😁
Those are the expensive ones man... Gortons has three different "levels" of fish stick. The classic, they are dirt cheap. Then they have one that says "whole fillets (not minced)." Then the pinnacle of Gortons fish sticks, the cod ones you got. So... yes they were cheaper when buying for kids, cuz you can get a pack with 44 of them for cheaper than you paid for those fancy cod ones. 😉 Thanks for the video!
I remember in elementary school there was a thing where you’d ask someone “Do you like “cats up” or “mouse turd” better?, thinking it was so funny. It wasn’t! 🥴
Ketchup with fish sticks is suuuuuper common for kids growing up in the Midwest. I didn’t like tartar sauce until I was like in high school, now I loooove it. But this was a nostalgia kitchen episode so I eat it like I did as a kid. 😅
There's only one topping for fish and chips, fish sticks or any white first and it's the only right way. It's not tartar sauce, it's malt vinegar hands down
Nah, fried fish/shrimp/chicken is 100% a normal thing in Japanese kids' meals. You just need some ketchup-y spaghetti napolitan and buttery corn on the side, and maybe serve it in a cartoony plastic model of the bullet train, and you'd be totally legit. Now, kids there do ALSO like *some kinds* of sushi, but that's typically special occasion food.

I still eat them @ 60. 3 or 4 sticks on a hamburger bun with a slice of Kraft American and tartar sauce is better than a filet o fish from McD’s!
You are gay fish
Don't eat mee
I love how you show the old commercials! Such a fun touch!

Good for in-a-pinch fish tacos, with squeeze of lime, sour cream, green salsa, shredded lettuce and hot sauce or jalepeno.
Thanks!
Love your memories! Makes me so happy!!!

This with ketchup are the best still! ❤

The ones from Costco are very good
The nostalgia.💯💯💯🙏love this.

Yeah back in the day fish sticks and Mac n cheese was one of my mom’s go to combos

I ate them tonight for dinner! I love them 80s kids here and love them
LOVE IT! (04:19) It worked perfectly. 🐟💙
We're multidimensional with our plating here at the HSE vlog. 🤣
Fish stick sandwiches - fish sticks, slice cheese, and tarter sauce on cheap white bread (toasted)
This might be the leftovers.
I love Gortons products, I’ve been eating the breaded haddock portions lately on a bun with pickle chips and tarter, pretty pretty good!🐠
Haven't had the fish sticks since I was a kid, but the planks/filets... absolutely! Love making a fish sando with thick cut pickles, Sriracha mayo and a dollop of coleslaw
If you want an upgrade, I highly recommend the Trident "ultimate" fish sticks from costco. They are indeed ultimate lol, prob cheaper than these also
I actually used to love them when I was growing up haven't had them in years. With tartar sauce and tater tots. Awesome!!❤
When my sons were little ( in the 80s)… I used to give them tater tots and cut fish sticks into thirds and they gobbled it up. Couldn’t tell what was a “tade” and what was fish.🤣 (obviously discerning pallets do not run in the fam!)

K-Mart Subs We Used To Love Those ! From The K-Mart On Ann Arbor Rd In Plymouth Mi Along With A Coke/Cherry Slush
Im from Gloucester! Just visited on summer vacay with the fam 👏

Ngl, I forgot these exist. Fish sticks were freaking awesome growing up. I lowkey want some now just because of this video😂
I always have them on drck as an after work snack!
I would love to see you try deep fried breaded mushrooms love those as a kid
Definitely the fishsticks with kraft macaroni and cheese. I remember that as a kid. 😃
Spot on.

Hot pockets terrible now not even crisping sleeve now. Croissant crust isn’t flaky anymore

Boston's is probably the best. Had sticks as a kid.
Ketchup ono!! Never done that with fish. Had kids we probably had fish sticks. We also lived in Japan so we didn’t mess around with Gorden’s much.
Great video as always, did you mention my state?... MA rules... ha ... have a great day :)
Love those things!
There's just something about 'em. The crunch takes it over the top.
Wish I could donate atm but you definitely gotta try the classic peanut butter and honey sandwich!! Definitely snacks
We call them fish fingers in the UK mate.

By the way it's pronounced Glooster

This video brought me back to my childhood. Later tonight I’m going outside and hitting fireflies with a waffle ball bat! Oh the good ole days!
Fish sticks go well with Howard Johnson's Fried Clams strips.
Seany don’t be dippin. Seany be DUNKIN!

Also missing Oscar Mayer “ham and cheese loaf.” 2 slices. Kraft single. White bread. Mayo.
I love fish sticks their tasty
Gortons makes good products. I like their fish sandwich filets.
Recipe not the same dry drab
Nugggah I eat them regularly…. Food is food and fish is good? Idc what form it’s in no worse for you than canned tuna lol
Bagel bites were always my thing and hot pockets
We used to make fish sandwiches out of the filets when I was a kid. Better for us than McDonalds Mom would say lol
Those are excellent with my homemade tartar.
I might have to make a leftover fish stick sandwich with tartar sauce.
Hey Sean what's up? Well believe it or not I actually did the same exact thing as a kid and had it not too long ago and I'm 40 lol.. We used to add lemon on it as well. It’s not just for kids quit saying that lol. I absolutely love Gortons brand fish sticks and i will eat them as a treat till i die.
👍🏻

Good god mate, did your wife force you into that stove's salmon color. 😂 Not hatin', just... wow.
Gortons and VanDeKamps are pretty good. Store brands are hit or miss, depending on the store. I don’t like the fact of the missing inner bag, though.
Fisher boy brand fish sticks taste terrible
I remember in elementary school there was a thing where you’d ask someone “Do you like “cats up” or “mouse turd” better?, thinking it was so funny. It wasn’t! 🥴
👏😂👏😂👏😂 memories I also remember
this man needs an intervention. KETCHUP WITH FISH???
i thought he was joking about the ketchup and was horrified when he downed the whole thing with ketchup... someone get this man some tartar sauce.
Ketchup with fish sticks is suuuuuper common for kids growing up in the Midwest. I didn’t like tartar sauce until I was like in high school, now I loooove it. But this was a nostalgia kitchen episode so I eat it like I did as a kid. 😅
@@HeySeanEly Goddamn ya'll are spartan in the midwest!
No jueging up the sticks? Seems like it would be easy to do with spices or condiments
100% will be doing some zhuzhing afterwards but stuck to 10 year old Sean’s basic pallete for this nostalgia. I’m thinking a fish stick sando.
@@HeySeanEly is that how you spell it? I looked it up, and there were multiple spellings. Maybe you Zhuzed up the spelling
Haha, yes, it's spelled zhuzh.
There's only one topping for fish and chips, fish sticks or any white first and it's the only right way. It's not tartar sauce, it's malt vinegar hands down
I love fishsticks
I want to live this segment of your life
Fish oil bread cheap for the company pricey for us lol
Tartar... mayo and relish. Whip it up.
i eat fish sticks all the time. i like to make sandwiches with them, like a ghetto filet o fish
The Japanese put corn and mayo on what they call Pizza so they have their own culinary issues
Corn, mayo and cheese melted together is a magical combination, I promise, but it has to be Kewpie, Hellmann's or Duke's won't taste right.
You could get your pizza in Brazil with fried eggs on it.
Fish sticks BLT Chipotle mayo fkn bomb
add tarter and catchup together, some hot sauce to taste , YOU CAN THANK ME LATER.. you are welcome.
it's pronounced more like glosster, btw
Watch it again with Same mindset laughed every harder . You are one funny MFer..
