I like how the interview wasn’t merely involving the main leads but also the short screens cast, he managed having the right, polite mannered questions to ask them & eventually was getting around to everyone I miss old interviews like this.
I couldn't get myself to watch this because babas & nyonyas can't speak Chinese. They may manage a smattering of Hokkien but never Mandarin. It was totally unrealistic. This is coming from one who is familiar with Baba culture & who speaks Malay well. Mandarin is a totally foreign language for us. Hokkien is not foreign but Babas don't speak that too - beyond a few words here & there. This is a Singaporean-centric production. It's like portraying a Chinese village in Penang speaking Singaporean Hokkien or a modern Bangkok Thai-Chinese family speaking Cantonese.

给我听清楚了。他们自己形成一个种族，一个独特的种族，各种文化混起来再产生一个新的独特的文化（主要华人中的福建文化及马来文化）！！！
这批BABA NYONYA祖先主要是郑和去马六甲后的随从，还有那个公主的随从和当地人结婚生的后代，那时候，这里的马来人还不是伊斯兰教徒。
后来的马来人混华人的混血儿都不叫BABA NYONYA，因为没有形成自己独特的文化，也统统信伊斯兰教了！
各种原因，这个族群也快灭绝了，基本上快消失了，其中一个理由是这个族群出现很多像查理张这样，不愿意继承文化的人。
其他土生土长的华人都不是BABA NYONYA，就算混血儿也不算！不是这么简单马来人混华人，就算是BABA NYONYA的！！
所以他们不是华人！是BABA NYONYA，就只是BABA NYONYA这族群，给我搞清楚文化知识好不好！！！气死我了！

不要动气了，你没看到那些Comments都不打中文了，都是一片盎格鲁撒克逊人的文字了是吧，所以他们（包括他们的祖上）都不想继承华人文化了，他们集体意识不想再与华人文化有任何牵连，但“盎族人”也不承认他们是同族，所以，他们的总统（李总统）又有先见之明，现在又想与中国交好，但又不想得罪“盎族人”主子；总的来说，从他们离开大陆开始就已经放弃华人文化了；有个演员采访还说，他希望新坡国的华人还记得“本”～～～呵，呵，呵，12年了，新坡国的华人，还有多少认同坡国文化呢？
