I held a ruler up to a build I was doing recently (Matchbox Grand Prix) with opening doors and tried to show why I JB Welded the doors shut - because the 1/64-1/32 or so gaps would be an inch on a real size car...much like the window trim on some of these castings. As usual, absolutely amazing work Austin!

I like almost all of your resurrections, and am especially fascinated by the brown pickup you added on to the cab on, and your 3D printed camper shell. I've only followed for about six months, but I'm glad to be able to watch older stuff, too. Thank you! And please don't poison yourself on paint stripper.

One of my favorites ever. Your paintwork is amazing...and this violet-y blue is a cool color. You could do a whole series of converting plain jane Hot Wheels into "Spoilers 2 by Diecast Resurrection" - the Redline Spoilers that Never Were! Put them on t-shirts! I vote the name for this one is "Power Charger" (Like Nitty Gritty Kitty, Mighty Maverick, Heavy Chevy, etc.)
Regarding cutting the hood opening: get yourself a Dremel 9901 Tungsten Carbide Cutter, or something similar. It's a side mill. The paint came out gorgeous, but it's quite dark. I think you could have done another coat of the Createx blue to get more iridescence out of it.
You ought to check out some of the smaller hardware stores - if such a thing exists anymore. Those little 'Mom & Pop' stores in small towns might still stock your favourite stripper of the old formulation. I use 'Nitromors' and occasionally, Caustic Soda - Rob at 'Matchbox Garage' gets great results with it. The Charger 500? Gorgeous. Your blue finish is deep enough to drown in. Awesome.
Great choice of color, the darker blue and it's metallic looks killer on the larger B body mopar. It needs no stripes etc. it looks cool just the way it is ! Very well done brother ! 🍻

Paint strippers containing methylene chloride or NMP have been banned for consumer use. It's still available for professional use. I've been using Kleen Strip Aircraft Paint Stripper and it's pretty aggressive. Apparently even workers using respirators and in well ventilated areas still succumbed to the methylene chloride fumes. If the stripper doesn't contain methylene chloride or NMP it'll still be available. GREAT LOOKING CAR.

On paint stripper try Easy Off oven cleaner, it's great for removing paint on plastic models, or even brake fluid works good on paint too, just need to soak it in a bowl or an old pickle jar with the brake fluid
That paint is *BEAUTIFUL* love the colour, the depth, the sparkle. It's not very "ultraviolet" but who cares. That's got to be one of your finest paint-jobs ~ maybe even *the best ever* The casting looks great with the flaws removed; a classic shape !! Kinda reminds me of back in the day, in the mid to late '70s while cruisin' around the circuit in Asbury Park, NJ any flashy paint job on the Camaros, Mustangs or artwork on a van was done by the same guy. He did candies, metalflakes, fades, murals and flames. In fact he did the flame job on my first car, a '72 Vega GT hatchback. The car was a peice of crap, but it looked cool. Keep 'em coming.
