I did the mod to my 35 amp controller. It took a few attempts but eventually worked. I have a 2kw rear hub motor with 52 volt battery. The mod has probably doubled my torque. It's amazing. I can go up hills at 25 mph now compared to 15 mph before the mod.
I say it took a few attempts. The first time I pulled the 2 shunts together and put a line of solder between them. That didn't do anything when I tested it. Then I put a coil of copper wire around the shunts and soldered it. That didn't work.
Then I added a lot more solder and kept the soldering iron on the join for a long time to heat everything up, and that worked! That made all the difference. I immediately knew there was a difference in torque when I tested it.
I think the success is due to heating the shunts up and then soldering them rather than just soldering them cold. I have no idea how it all works but would be interested to find out.
I'm tempted to add even more solder to the join to decrease the resistance even further and make the bike go faster. But I'm worried about blowing something in the battery, or the motor.

Try adding strips of copper wire in the same direction as the shunts. Then solder hot!

I did the same thing to my first bolt pro, but it fried my motor, the Jetson bolt pro motor is factory set for 36 volt only.

the motor cannot be tuned to voltage, the motor with the thickness of the windings is configured to withstand a certain current strength, and any voltage can be applied, only the maximum speed will depend on this
