      TH-cam isn't dead though and I'm pretty sure they know that. Hot 97 owned by the wealthiest multibillion dollar multimedia corporation in the world. They might shift, but they're not going anywhere. The same people who own HOT own all radio and tours and several hundred media services across the world. REVOLT is one of the few that is not owned by said corporation.

      No ny radio run by corporate won’t play u unless u sound like what’s hot, ny hip hop wasn’t like that before everyone who was hot in nyc in the past sounded different from each other all in the same era

    • @NostalgiaVomitBootlegs
      @NostalgiaVomitBootlegs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bkburnaz Not really. Thats why yall fell off. I love Tribe and Wu tang and all that, but NYC became a monolith and they were gatekeepers. Places like Hot 97 (people like Funk Flex specifically) were notorious for this. Also, New Yorkers don't even want to see each other win. 50 Cent proved beef the most profitable export from NYC hip hop, even today. The South started coming with better beats (NYC still doesnt have a sound, the UK made those drill beats hot) and new original styles. Sorry, but the Gargoyles of NYC dont let true talent win there. Thats why Max B is in jail and French is out spending all the bread that should be coming to the Wave God. Look at Stack Bundles, never got a true chance to shine. All the actual good artists from new york either die or move away.

      I'm from the south and can remember when New York music only was played on the radio. We had our own music in the streets but when the south broke through we played and supported everything. For some reason New York radio stopped supporting New York artist. Its weired. You go to Memphis , Atlanta, Texas, Florida, the local music gets love. I miss New York music.

      In my opinion it all started with Juvenile's 400 Degreez album. I don't say Outkast because deep down they're elite concious lyricists. Juvenile started the whole harmonizing, bass driven, catchy hooks street talk wave that has evolved into what we currently have today. If 400 Degreez came out right now it would be a hit. That's how far ahead of it's time it was.

  • @morelandcapitalgroup8694
    @morelandcapitalgroup8694 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I think both are right and both are wrong. The dj’s should have played her 2nd single because NY was taking an L and we had a hot artist that could and should have been pushed. However...if the DJ’s were asking the label for money then they should have just payed it because payola is real and sometimes you gotta pay...I mean play the game. Artists will “pay” a OG for “protection” so to speak in LA but won’t pay to keep their momentum going on radio? And was Flex giving the record heavy rotation while he was blasting the other DJ’s?

    Hot 97 is over most people probably only still listen because of the name or nostalgia ( ME lol) but they suck …the station is corny the personalities are corny ( Rosenberg AND ESPECIALLY EBRO AND FLEX) …also I’m tired of being lectured “politically” by EBRO who’s half white …I just listen to playlists on Tidal when I want to hear music 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Go to Hots TH-cam page and Power's TH-cam page and compare the view counts. Hot 97 morning show is a complete joke - Ebro is a loud, brash know it all and Peter is a cornball as Uncle L put it best...the rest bring nothing to the show.

  • @jojosmom8819

    Hell yea, all of them were with the payola. Thats why the music sucks. If you're on the East, you know they play Pop Smoke ALL DAY way more than he was alive! That tells me that the guy that bought Pop's catalogue, who is a Warner exec, paid radio. Rosenberg is a reason shit is trash now. Nas told yall Hot 97 djs took payola, now here goes this white man acting shocked. Its evident by the same 3 records yall play yet still want to act like ppl are just not making good music! Nah, yall just tired and killed radio.

    Regarding both radio stations hot 97 and power 105- I believe both buildings should be completely destroyed from the bottom up. No staff needs to be in the buildings, but if both of those buildings were bombed and/or destroyed i would clap tremendously. Hmm... 9/11 is in 21 days. Sounds like an ideal day to me...
