- Filmed in the late afternoon during the re-opening of New York City in September 2020. It's free for the public but you need to reserve a free ticket online ahead of time.
The High Line is a 1.45 mile-long elevated linear park, greenway, and rail trail on the west side of Manhattan in New York City. It was created by Piet Oudolf, James Corner, and Charles Renfro.
Where do you start to walk the Highline in NYC?
During normal times, you may enter the Highline from multiple entrances spread across the path. Currently, it begins in the meatpacking district with COVID restrictions and guidelines.
How long does it take to walk the Highline?
The average length is 20 minutes. However, since there are multiple entrances and exits, you may reduce or increase your amount of walking time. It is a peaceful walk so we recommend walking it both directions.
Is the Highline free?
At the time of filming this video, the High Line is free but requires a pass online. This is to limit traffic and create social distancing.
What is there to do on the Highline?
Around the Highline are attractions such as the Chelsea market, the meatpacking district, Hudson Yards, and more. While walking on the Highline, the best thing to do is to enjoy the views!
