    I used to build those radios 40 years ago using OA71 Diode, the (103pf) capacitor is actually 10000pf, English sub will be good idea

    Good video 🙂but some wrong informations!
    This crystal radio mainly catches AM broadcast bands mainly and you need less turns for higher frequency (to catch FM)because the inductance is low.
    And the output impedance is to high, this can only drive crystal earphones without any power, not 'regular headphones'. To drive 'regular headphones' you need to connect FET transistor instead of germanium diode.

      true but not always, I was able to do it with old telephone head peace that had 2" diaphragm. Crystal headphones are the best in sound quality and have higher impedance. Difficult to buy today in India. A regular earbud does not work. Only AM works. A better design is to have gang capacitor to tune, rather than the coil.

    This stuff you make never work, because the first thing is instead of using piezoelectric microphone you using a microphone which has coil and magnet and need much more current to work
    The second thing is the antenna should be longer at least 10 meters even when you near the station not the small coil like this

    Nice video, basically it's an old crystal radio set. Its not 103pF capacitor it's a 10nF capacitor. This circuit only works for AM radio waves .

      Diode is used to convert the full wave ac to rippling dc and capacitor is used for smoothing it

      This is called a radio crystal set. The circuit power is taken from the same rf waves just in case you do not know.

    It is a "somewhat" fm tuner, with no filtering unit. Nor any amplifier. Hence so much noise.
    But great attempt. Keep posting. So much to learn from you.

    The crystal radio you made requires a sharp pen-like point on the tuning coil for better performance. It looks a bit loose. A flat piece is not recommended for this type of radio; it needs to be sharp to penetrate the rolled wires individually and capture the radio frequency. I made these during high school and still have my old one. its only for AM not for FM.

    there are two dedicated plates in earphone for VCC and GND it wont work without external power and power recieved from elemagnetic waves are very low then how it will work?

      He just made a good look using the regular earphones. One needs an amplifier to listen such low signal.

      It can only generate some mV only.
      You'll Always need an amplifier to the output in order to listen in properly.

    This is crystal radio which catches only local AM/MW Radio Station, better if you had simplified it by using just OA79 Crystal Diode that works as Local Oscillator.
