As an incoming black freshman this video is really helpful!

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I’m a Black girl applying to colleges as a freshman and have been a little anxious about the demographic population of UC’s. I feel seen😭

Thank you so much for producing this documentary. I’m a long-time UC bureaucrat and in my particular job I don’t often get to interact with our students. I’m grateful to have this opportunity to see your UCI experience, even though-especially so-much of it is not what it should be. We can do better; you’ve given me some ideas as to what I can do better myself.

    This is great!
The voice department is actually one of the most diverse majors on campus. My teachers are black and i have quite a few black classmates. Theyre amazing and i love them so much. More videos like this please 😇💕

      But the degree is worthless.
That's the problem...all the 'diverse' departments are the least useful

This is tragic in California?? I think this is so sad the way college black kids have to go through this. I want my son to be in a diverse environment. There is no way this should be anyone’s reality. California is too black and brown for this. They need to do something about this!

Why did you exclude YELLOW??? Blatant Asian-phobia right here.

      Go through what ?
      UCI is incredibly diverse.

Indian Americans are brown. There are plenty of them at UCI

The first time I was introduced to the term, “porch monkey” was while I was a student at UCI. Professors allowed students of different ethnicities/race to take time off from class beyond what was specified in syllabus without any ramifications. While a student I found that many White professors would waste your time adding their class and at last day tell you “no” you can’t add their class. Other times professors would strike up a conversation with you to distract you during an exam.

The Supreme Court affirmative action decision is not going to help this, despite it already being banned in Cali. I guess this is what happens when you ban it.

    Here's another interesting statistic. 15-50

As an Asian minority student, 99% of the micro-aggressions committed against me came from the 2% of black students on campus. No lives matter until Asian lives matter, including black lives and all other colors.
